-I don’t understand the bulk of the article makes it sound like you can’t use old Sega games. Then at the end you say “It is, however, able to take old cartridges and is priced at 39.95.” which sounds like you can.
Which is it?

-the 39.95 refers to a console already on the market and not the one in the pictures. Sorry if that confuses. We wanted to point out that this isn’t the first device of its kind out there.

I have some Sega ‘Plug n Play’ consoles at home. They are like tiny little immitation Genesis/Megadrive with games built in. My favourite is the Sensible Soccer one (also includes Cannon Fodder and Megalomania), which obviously must have been some joint venture with Sensible Software (or whoever holds the rights to their games these days).
There’s also a sonic one with Ghouls and Ghosts on it, and Flicky and Altered beast and a load of retro games on another. They are an incredibly impracticle way of collecting games but I just can’t resist buying em when I see them.
Oh, and I have a Super Street Fighter II one was well!
… What’s the big deal? The Zone 40 guys got the license for some Sega games, it’s just another plug and play… Was everyone flipping shit when the Atari Flashback 1 and 2 came out?
I will like to add something. If anyone here has done some marketing or knows anything about the gaming industry, maybe you can explain to me why Sega is releasing Yakuza 3 AND Resonance of Fate as the SAME TIME as Final Fantasy XIII. Yakuza franchise has never sold a lot here either so they need all the sales they can get. But honestly who the fuck is going to buy those games when most people waited for FF13?
I know I will. Because FF13 has been said to be disappointing… Plus I was never hyped about it. Not sure about RoF though. Tried the JP demo and the battle system was kind of weird and battles took forever. Probably because idk wtf I was doing.
Bullshit, it is the equivalent to one of those Hong Kong produced emulation consoles before companies actually tried to produce systems for the Chinese market.
If they decided the release dates that far in advance, it’s likely the shipping and handling for the games is set in concrete as well.
It’s probably better this way, people can pick up both games at once, rather than buy FFXIII and get so preoccupied with it they forget to come back a few days later for Yakuza.
This would be an instant buy for me. It’s a dream of mine for Sega to make some Sega Saturn collection. I mean, damn, they’ve re-re-re-re-re-re-re-released Genesis titles for years on various platforms, but where’s the love for the Saturn, it had great games too.
