I bet there’s enough interest in an updated exact reproduction (e.g. Neutrik, PS360+, anti-slip, cable storage, etc) of both the Sega HSS-0130 and Hori RAP 1/2/3/EX to get a Kickstarter going. Sega even strikes me as an awesome enough company to allow for official SEGA™ licensing and original CAD files to back such a thing (no idea on Hori). Hardest part would be getting the molds going for the center ring of plastic.
ITs it possible to duplicate those panels? Isn’t it just a piece of metal with a sticker on top or what else do they also have any otehr coating? I ask becasue I jsut got a naomi, and need a replacement for th pannel, and buying a real one is really hard here in europe.
Not “official” SEGA but the love is there. My question to all is, should I keep the buttons all black or do something different? If I had a black HRAP shell I was thinking I’d make all the buttons and ball top green in rememberance of the ps2 virtua stick. With this stick I was thinking to make the button caps match the xbox button colors (a,b,x, and y ect) or maybe do pink balltop and buttons with yellow start & back.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
I got my HG just recently, back in December to be exact. I’ve wanted one ever since they first came out, but being a broke high school student at the time, I came just short of the cost of the stick + shipping. It was the first stick I ever used and I fell in love with it instantly, but I ended up settling on an HRAP 2 SA a few years later (my second favorite stick, as it would be).
Seven years later, I picked one up off of Amazon JP for under $50 US. Gotta love that exchange rate.
I’ve done a bit to mine, but it still looks like a lightly used HG. It was the first stick I put the Hayabusa and Kuro in, and I really think they fit the HG better than they do the HRAP or FE. The panel on the HG is thick enough to absorb enough vibration to almost make the Hayabusa feel like a different stick entirely. Ditto for the Kuro, which really do feel better when mated to a sufficiently thick panel.
As I do with all my sticks except for my designated travel stick, I loaded my HG up with adhesive backed steel weights; it currently weighs roughly 10lbs. I also put two sheets of adhesive felt on the bottom plate, for good measure.
My only plans for it at this point are an FC4 padhack and possibly a paint job, though I really do hate plexi with a passion and love the texture of the HG’s panel as it comes, so perhaps I’ll just keep it the way it is.
I haven’t posted anything for a while

Sweet Collection, Both Virtual On Sticks, a Agetec and the HSS-0130
I am drooling here.
Very nice. I’m getting back into gaming and that pic inspires me to finish my HSS project. Very nice
I have a VSHG and CS1-0002 and jpn Dreamcast stick, sadly not in the greatest condition I got them for pretty cheap. And another VSHG and CS2-0007 on the way in nicer shape hopefully . I’m kind of hooked on getting sticks even though it’s kind of silly, and I love all Sega hardware so I hope to get more Sega sticks in the future. Their Saturn controller rereleases are also the bees knees but compared to a stick much harder to justify paying so much for a minty package.
This post serves two purposes:
- Bump this awesome thread
- Ask a question.
Anyone have an HSS-0136 metal top plate I can buy/borrow? Found an unused shell and bottom and I want to trace the actual panel instead of printing out a template or making some kind of reverse mould.
Could you maybe pick up a vinyl from Jasen and trace that?
My VSHG arrived today and I am incredibly impressed! I bought it for an insanely low price because it was listed as “junk” on YA-JAP, but the stick is mint, aside from no box, and works perfectly. My original idea was to replace the PCB (supposedly bad) and flip it, but I think I am going to keep it.
I might also have an HSS-130 in my future, but only the right deal at the right time will get me to pull the trigger.
It is a really bad pcb and USB cable
And, done!
I’ve posted a parts breakdown in the New Arcade Stick thread Check Out My New Arcade Stick! (No Image Quoting)
Wow that Nesica Panel is awesome. Where did you score it?
OMG that stick is SICK!!
astro city 2p drawerstick i recently whipped up… running my previous gen consoles… drawers can close via @Phreakazoid JLF links…
Never posted this so here you go.
All Sanwa. Case painted white(er). Black plexi from Art.
This was not modded by me. I acquired it in this condition.
Just shot a request to Jansen about possibly doing a run of Custom Sega Panels if there is enough interest.
Id really only be able to commit to 1 but he needs confirmations on at least 10 pieces to do. I want a 1l 6b with 3 24 MM buttons on the side.
Hopefully a few others are interested. I want this for my hss-0130 so I dont have to ever mod the casing.
