You know what…I didnt know about this until now, but I think I recall this happening to me at EVO!
Darn cant timestamp. 44m10s
Wow, you almost lost the game because of it!
So I decided to upload this very impractical Super Jump Nem combo. You dont really get much from it besides style points :P… unless you go for reset attempt, hard tag combo or TAC.
I got the chance to play offline after a long hiatus (first time on stream technically). I play team bigboy, but Nem has always been an assist to me and not a char main. he ended up doing more work than I’d expect. As the “better” player(s) (really just sylvan, I’ve beaten the rest in tourney play before) weren’t here/registered my wins for the tourney weren’t much, but they wanted me to play one of the better guys in a FT5 after. And yea, I dropped a lot of combos and I’m not very good, but I didn’t really have to be to win in the end.

The FT5:
This was so hype to watch…obviously for me since I play the same team. Dude that shit was sick! Lots of neat stuff I’m gonna steal for sure! Call drones in the corner on incoming and then using cM to make Hulk cross under?! HULK PLEASE!!! And your pressure game was really on point. I like how you mixed up going for hop over drones into a low or a command grab and AA Gamma Charges in the corner with a low mixed in every now and then. You kept your opponent guessing the whole set. If I could offer any advice it would be a few things…
-
Dont be afraid to XF a midscreen Gamma Charge into a kill combo. There were times you landed a stray Gamma Charge with Drones assist following behind you. What you could do is Gamma Charge + L follow up, XF, hop, jL, jM, jM, jM jH, jS and then follow up on the ground as normal…heck you could also throw in a hop as soon as you land to cover more ground and get closer to the corner. If you have drones following behind you, you can do Gamma Charge + L follow up, XF, hop, jL, jM, drones connect, super jump, jH, jS, into a normal combo.
-
Ease off the air grabs when recovering in the air. I know you are trying to tech a grab with Hulk and jH is a go to move for a descending Nemesis, but it got you tagged a lot. Sometimes you have have to take the guessing game. Its better to try and react to the grab than get popped whiffing a move in the air. If you get grabbed, you get grabbed, but its better than just GIVING your opponent that hit. I say this because I myself mash grab upon air recovery…its a bad habit Im trying to get rid of.
-
If you still haven’t used a ground bounce by the time you go for Gamma Charge loops, you can do sH for hard knockdown, call drones, Gamma Wave M, they get knocked into the drones, dash up, sH, AA Gamma Charge + M follow up. Doing so could have gotten ya some meterless kills. Or were you saving the Drones assist for a better incoming mix up, which is a good choice as well.
Overall I liked what I saw. Keep the match footage coming. I just competed at TX Showdown but didn’t get my matches recorded. Im looking to invest in an Avermedia portable recorder in the future though. Not much was missed though…was one game away from top 16 losers side but got bopped by Phoenix.
But anyways…good shit dude! It was hella entertaining. Keep em coming!
Thanks JDog, coming from you that means a lot to me. Hoarding XF is a bad habit of mine since I rely on sentinel’s XFGC Catapult-L reversal a lot. Gotta drop that. Most ppl meet my tech so it’s almost autopilot, gotta shake that off too.
Many thanks for that ground bounce tip, I’ll have to try it later. I went for the orthrodox combos b/c I haven’t worked anything else in yet. It’s not good as I’m sacrificing the corner (speaking of which, I also have to work in drones + gamma quake).
The m+drones mixup is something I adopted from the one time I played Fooblat at Next Lvl, difference being he does it w/lariat. It’s really decent on non-mobile chars and makes vergil scrubs cry. If they block everything, grab when they land. Need proper spacing to keep sent out of harm (which I screwed up the second time in that match and paid dearly). My favorite way to set up fooblat’s crossup is to ToD w/the later hits of G.Crush. since he’s still hitting the body and pushes away further, you can just call sent and walk forward. Thanks for the feedback!
Also saw your vlog and I’m gonna try to turtle a bit too. I’m wayyy to pringles to tele mixups. And good stuff at Tx Showdown, I think you and Double A are the best Nem reps at the moment.
Hello all! Just recorded some point Nemesis combos. Not the most damaging combos but there are still a few tricks in there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zDRgccmkC4
I was going through the cast of characters to see on who is it possible to link a snapback after a forward throw in the corner. In the process of doing that I stumbled onto the fact that due to Tron’s weird hitbox, she pushes you back at the perfect distance after a forward throw to where you can do TK rocket and link a cL into a full combo. Unfortunately this seems to be exclusive to Tron as I could not replicate the same thing on any of the other characters.
Hey guys, this is my first time posting on SRK, but I’ve been looking at these threads for a while for ideas for Nemesis. I recently entered and won a local tourney with Nemesis, Taskmaster, and Wesker. I was just wondering if you guys had any tips or anything to help me improve. I played pretty sloppy, as this was my first tourney in a while.

Its kinda hard to critique the matches since most of your opponents weren’t really playing how they should. That one Viper/Doom/Skrull player getting hit by Nem’s jM a crapton of times on incoming…facepalm LOL! That was hard to watch!
The one match that caught my eye were the grand finals matches. It seems like you have a good understanding of what to do in the Nem vs Hulk match up. Your oppenent knew that as well which is why he spent the resources necessary to ensure a dead(er?) zombie as opposed to doing more optimal Hulk combos. You definelty made him respect your Nemesis. So thats a plus for ya.
As a Hulk player myself if I could offer any advice it would be to ease off of the buttons on incoming with Nem and Wesker. Task I think you can come down with jH and itll beat his sH. But that’s not taking into account the assists so you still gotta watch out for Drones or Lariat. Choose your moments carefully on when to go cray and mash buttons against Hulk. Heck you might even mind ef’ them into respecting YOUR incoming! I know that happens to me every now and then when I get mashed out.
With Nem be careful about doing air rockets in the mid range. Nem has hella recovery time on it and is basically free to anything on the way down. Most of the time you had air rockets backed by Task arrows which is good, but I would still advise against this tactic.
Also with Nem, Sent drones assist are pretty much free to tentacles since Sent is such a huge target and drones disappear if Sent is hit. I would say pay attention to the character portrait next to the life bars. The “A1/2” will phase out when an assist is called. If you can react to that you can do standing tentacles or jump and do tentacles to tag Sent for some free damage…Shoot if the spacing is good, you can go for rockets on the assist since rockets are an infinite on assists.
One more thing that I can think of…you did alot of raw Rocket super with Nem to try and DHC into Task to get him in safely. I would not recommend that at alll. Reason being is that you got punished at the stomp portion of the super a few times. The opponent didnt really kill you for it, but they could have. Or another possible turn of events could have been that the Hulk player blocked the stomp, cross over counter into Sentinel and Harddrived once you DHC’d into Task, then you would lose Task and 2 meters and come in with a bleeding Nemesis. I mean you could XF cancel to make yourself safe, but you would still be down a meter AND that valuable XF. Point is is that if the opponent knows how to punish this action, itll hurt a lot since you burned a lot of resources just to block that mistake or lose your Task and eat and incoming with Nem who cant really do much on incoming. Overall I think if you cant switch out safely, its better to just accept that you are gonna lose Nem and just prepare yourself for an incoming.
Thats all I can think of for now. Like I said you pretty much destroyed your opponents in the other matches so theres not much to comment on those. Good job on winning the tourney.
Thanks for the tips man. I know I got away with a lot in that tourney haha. I’m still learning a lot of the match ups but I’ll definitely try and improve
Hello again. I just came back from Curleh Mustache South that happened this past weekend in San Antonio, TX at Ultra Arcade. I managed to get top 8 at the event! (Tied for 7th place.) I have links to my matches from the Team Sp00ky archives below. I would have recorded my off stream matches but the set ups were in a arcade cabinet set up, so I couldn’t access the console to plug in the capture card. I was able to beat BionicMike (Wolvy/Spencer/Iron Man) and Busby (Viper/Morrigan/Strider) off stream. Anyways…
To get into Top 8 Winners Side against Jayto (Starts at 12m 33s)
To get into Top 8 Losers Side against Denial| Danke (Starts at 45m 52s)
Top 8 Losers Match against Terry Bogard (Starts at 37m 7s)
As always any feedback on how to improve is welcome…ESPECIALLY with the 3rd match against Terry.
A wild Double A has been spotted! Below is Double A’s performance at UFGT during the UMVCX ban tournament.
Vs. Kinderparty at 22m11s
Vs. Chris G at 56m18s
Holy hell there were a surprising number of Nemesis players at EVO this year. Happy to have met the few of you that I did encounter though, found some fun tech and I hope my janky-ass team showed off something new as well
Which team did you play? I was playing Hulk/Nemesis/Sentinel. I saw a really awesome Nemesis/Arthur/Haggar. Nem bnb into rockets super, gold armor DHC after 2nd rocket, throw fire bottle into a reset with Haggar. Too sick!
Also met a pretty solid Nem/Vergil/Hawkeye. Wish I coulda played the dude more.
Ha ha ha, that was me actually. I think we played a couple of rounds. The grab reset is probably one of the only reasons that team manages to work in the first place but it’s still janky as hell yet oddly successful.
Your shit is also solid though, we should make another one of those compilations some day.
I found this video recently on youtube and did not see posted. http://youtu.be/PeJADJhJ560 thanks to the creator affehl316
Finished my latest CMV GoS v4. This vid showcases some pretty funny looking things you can do off of BWA->XF after the 2nd shot.
A vid running down how I use Clocket H for incoming set ups. Sorry for the scrubby execution.
how close to the corner can this be performed?
also depending on your assist wouldnt j.M, j.H, assist, j.qcf.S…be more optimal? or perhaps even j.M, j.M,j.H, j.qcf.S…solo?
i guess it would all come to to corner distance…will test tonight and post any findings!
