Fight this guy, he’s a good B ranked Guy Player. You should be able to Kongo him a lot considering he likes to do the elbow drop and tick you with his cr. lk. But does he have a damn good mix up game. I only played him 2 rounds but I could tell he was very good, or he had a decent knowledge of the Gouken match up. He had almost 5000 BP with Guy prob more by now so that should count for a little something.

what i was getting at earlier is that high counter is the only one we seem to have to worry about when cody is up close, unlike dictator who can hit confirm into knockdowns from mid or low moves.
Yeah but if he’s option selecting that from Max range in footsies more than likely he’s either gonna wiff or its going to get blocked. And if it gets blocks its a free big damage punish with Cody back on the outside where he doesn’t wanna be. Honostly I think that OS is more character specific and situational and don’t think your gonna see it to often as gouken.
my bad, yes, you are right. c.lk is a poke and not for hit confirming. but just to state the obvious, cody CAN start his hit confirm with c.lk if he chooses. its just not common. and you are also right in the high kongo statement you made.

i can never win with gouken unless i know the matchup inside and out.
I don’t see to many ruffian kicks outside of combos or to punish hados or jump ins. Its a rather unsafe move if it gets blocked or whiffs just watch out for criminal upper he has some nice frame traps with that move.
