This is SRK Tech Talk’s Annual Secret Santa Thread
Since we started so late last year, I decided to start the organizing early to get the ball rolling.

Here is a link to last years thread for reference

Sign Up Begins October 1 and ends November 10.
Assignments will go sometime that night or next morning day.
All gifts needed to be shipped by December 10.

If you Sign up and want to withdraw, you need to withdraw before November 10.

Here are this year’s rules:

[] Member must be 2016 or earlier Join Date.
[] $20 minimum without shipping.
[] Gift Cards are not allowed, unless your Recipient allows it.
[] Along with the $20 minimum gift(s), you must include a handmade card and something unexpected.
[] You must have the package shipped and trackable by December 15, 2017 (You have to PM me the Tracking Number).
[] Instant Ban if you do not send a gift (this is treated like a Trading Outlet trade).

[] If your Sign in date is 2017 someone who does qualify must vouche for you.
[] If you vouch for someone, you are also responsible if your vouchee does bad.
[] You MUST meet all the requirements for TRADING OUTLET Trading (6 months, and have 50 posts), this last part is not negotiable.

I am a few posts and like a few months shy of qualifying, can I beg for leniency? haha

I should be up for this year. Will make a proper official post soon. I only ask that I don’t get paired up with someone who has been my recipient before and vice versa.

You meet the six months requirement, so just a matter of a few posts and you should be OK.

NEC PC Engine Duo-R motherboard

Well thats quick. I am sure the HuCard Hudsonsoft and NEC labels gave it away.

Not to derail the thread, but I am going to do little fun things throughout the thread. And depending on things play out, we have another BONUS ROUND.
Kinda like how last year we had a extra secret secret santa sending out a 2nd gift to a random person.

And no I am not giving away the PC Engine Duo, I am keeping that sucker.

I was going to be an ass, but the time I took to get myself some more coffee I decided to rethink the whole post.
Were supposed to be teaching people.

So a PC Engine is just a name of a Console, it is known in the US as the Turbo Grafix 16. It was a console built by the joint partnership of NEC and Hudson Soft.
The PC Engine/ Turbo Grafix 16 had the first CD Add on for a game console (even before the Sega CD).
The PC Engine Duo and the Turbo Grafix Duo is a All-in-One console with the CD built in.
What the POST-IT note covering is the card slot for the game cards for the console.
A PC Engine Duo-R is the revision of the console I got here. I was going later do some mods (definitely a RGB video mod) and maybe a recap of the console.
The PC Engine/ Turbo Grafix 16 is an expensive console to collect for but is loved by Shmup (SHoot eM UP) players for having alot of Shmup games.

I did the Motherboard pic as my pic as often many people will do their favorite stick or their current stick project as their picture, others do whatever fits their interests.
This is a mix for me as I am inspecting the board to see if I need any repairs and last year I did the inside of a SNES as I got a later revision of the SNES with the right video mod produce a better video signal than ealier SNES consoles.
I decided to go this route for my submission pic as not many people on SRK dabble in console mods/repair.
