Honestly I think there’s a lot more to the Jackpot mystery and they are just screwing with us. Otherwise, Marvel has to be REALLY freaking stupid with what they’ve done with the character. Um, I’m giving Marvel the benefit of the doubt, 'cuz… I mean they have like 3 writers in the Spidey Brain Trust…

Her name was revealed to be Alana Jobson. Sara Ehret was a Mary Jane fan and was supposed to be Jackpot, but she chickened out. Alana Jobson took the Jackpot identity from her and imitated her as she was an MJ fan, so that’s where all the “Tiger” and “Jackpot” stuff came from. Alana needed drugs to give her powers. They were fighting a villain named Blindspot that can temporarily make you blind. He temporarily made Alana / Jackpot blind and Spider-Man had a pill he got from Reed Richards that could counteract the blindness. He gave the pill to Alana and she died because the pill + the drugs she was taking caused her to OD so she died. At the end of the issue Sara Ehret held the Jackpot costume and it looks like she may take up the roll.
Non spoiler response - Marvel is out of their freaking minds… Are they trying to piss off every Spider-Man / MJ fan out there even more or does this just come naturally to them? :wonder:
Marvel Comics has announced a new on-sale date for “Secret Invasion” #8, with the final issue of the Brian Michael Bendis/Leinil Yu event series shipping December 3rd, 2008.
That sounds terrible. Completely terrible.
Yeah i heard they did this because Bendis wanted all the main tie-ins like The Initiative, and New & Mighty Avengers to lead into Secret Invasion #8.

Jason Aaron is a great writer, you should read his Ghost Rider issues as well, they are TOO good to miss out on.

First off, I mention Loki mainly because of the whole ‘green eyes’ thing that some members have pointed out in various series and issues that are pivotal to SI. In the current Thor series Loki has green eyes as well.
Way I see it, BEFORE Ragnarok, Loki manipulated the Skrulls to attack Earth and claim it for themselves.
My reason for picking Dormammu is…well because of the recent reveal in the last NA issue. Dormammu too could’ve manipulated the Skrulls into attacking Earth as well.
BTW by manipulate I mean the whole ‘religious’ thing the Skrulls have been backing their Invasion on.
Again a shot at the dark, but I can’t help but get this nagging feeling that one of these 2 is directly involved in having the Skrulls invade Earth. [/details]
