Pool’s long over and I haven’t thought of any other pool option just yet or really have as much time ATM to run it. In November to coincide with the Presidential Election, I’m thinking of having a poll where everyone votes for their favorite comic book characters and we comprise a big list of sorts. There may be some crappy comics as prizes that no one really wants, like whoever gets most of their characers in the top 50 / 100 or whatever lol! :looney:
A poll on SRK? Just give me the prize and save yourself the trouble of typing. If it weren’t for wikipedia I’d be down for a comic trivia competition or something.
Yeah the poll thing came up in the other thread lol! I mean, as long as no one tells General it might be okay, we should at the very least prevent Uchiha Sasuke from winning or something like that… :wonder:
Still up for any ideas if we want to do any kind of event this year. In October I’ll create a thread asking members and maybe someone can come up with something good.

Yeah I’m still leaning towards an election for this year. I think a betting pool will be easier next year after the big two - HOPEFULLY - take a freaking five second break from insane crossover madness. The Skrull pool worked well before Secret Invasion started. Once these things get big they get really crazy really fast…
Please, son. We both know that if Sano wrote a comic book trivia quiz, it would be completely loaded with questions about Spider-Man and just about nothing else, other than maybe a couple obscure questions about Shuma-Gorath. (And maybe a Nightwing question just to show that he reads DC.)
And I don’t know about a popularity poll. That sounds like way too much work. And we all know that such a poll would be unfairly biased in favor of big-name Marvel and DC characters. Sano says the player with the most characters in the top 50 or 100 would get prizes? How the heck is that gonna work when everyone submits the same list of Spider-Man, Batman, Wolverine, Venom, and fucking Gambit? People like me are gonna have to lie and be sellouts JUST for a chance to win the Street Fighter: The Movie: The Comic. And I find that completely unacceptable.
If anything, we should resurrect the superhero fantasy football thread.
Oh hey if you want to run the fantasy football thread or anyone else, feel free and just tell me who won at the end of it. I know next to nothing about football and fantasy pools so there’s no way I can run that.
I doubt I’m gonna offer the SF Movie comic, honestly. I can’t find an extra copy and I’m not really good at giving away SF related anything if I don’t have a spare. Ah well, you never gave up a Liefeld comic either. :arazz:

I still have no real idea how that football league would work. It’d be awesome though.
Now I have never played any fantasy football but a possible way to run a comic version it would just be to tally victories and losses in fights, cameo/guest appearances and maybe if there is a real die hard comic fan not willing to participate, retcons or examples of ignoring previously established details.

After reading the last issue of Avengers Illuminati and the revelations from that and also reading this issue, now its starting to make sense how the skrulls were able to do what they did.

If you read Silent War, it’ll fill in the blanks regarding Black Bolt’s brother maximus. It starts with a brief history lesson of the Inhumans. Next medusa is very pissed at Tony (who isnt) once she found out that her husband was missing. Of course Tony always got to talk shit. She comes back warning every Inhumans about not trusting anyone. Maximus (read Silent War good read) claims that Black Bolt is dead (probably a clue) and slowly skrulls are revealing themselves. Towards the end Black is held captured and they are claiming that he will become the greatest weapons the skrull ever used.[/details]

First I think that this arc is a bit nonreadable. I expected alot more out of this. All it is about Xavin trying his best to get Teddy to calm down the invasion by uniting the empire according the legend. A skrull commander/assassin who happens to have Elektra moves is going after Xavin (who is a prince) and Teddy while speed and wiccan help. The rest of the teens watched vision get destroyed. It ends with skrulls about to attack.[/details]
arggh…on page 3, the joke Tony said and Namor’s retort was ruined because Namor wasn’t wearing his usual green speedo and actually wearing pants. (the artist didn’t draw it in, and more importantly the inker and the editor missed it sigh)
Black Panther # 40

Ladies and gents wow just wow! this isssue is amazing. BP is praying to the panther god and he is getting his troops ready for battle. Later he talks about the different men and woman that died fighting regarding who they are and what they do and if they have families. Wow it shows that he gives a dayum! Later it comes to find out that one of the dora is a skrull. It is probably the one that got shot in the KM arc. Later BP of course kicks the super street fighter skrull ass but then he gets zapped. End of issue. There were a total of 3 super street fighter skrulls. The first had bullseye, wolverine & iron fist. The 2nd had hulk, thing, juggy and the 3rd had Loki, Thor, and beta ray bill.[/details]
He still has Storm as his ace in the hole…so hopefully we’ll see her reigning her wrath on all skrulls.

Panther being the Batman of Marvel is debate-able IMO; other candidates to me are Daredevil (for some odd reason) and Supreme Power Nighthawk.
