I’m in the same boat as you but I don’t have the luxury to just go to some place that is not at least 45 minutes away just to play some decent people that know that game. I know what you’re talking about but to be honest, I’d take that over having nobody to play at all and/or the same person every single time.
i know that it is a trip to head up, but in the long run it would be worth it. if anything else at least try to make it out once a week and your game should improve immensley. then take that back to olympia and get them better. post on TZ about asession, ppl show up damn near everyday at either kicks or seatac. Shit even tacoma has tekken 5 competition (myself included) if seatac really is too far, i’ll play you there…as long as you let a person know.
I know I could prove to be a lot better and be more competative if I went up north a lot. I would love to go up to places at least once a week but I have a few factors that limit my travel.

Not that this matters, but I like how our machine is 3 out of 5, not 2 out of 3. 
And like I said, I dream (well, not really but figuratively) of people coming here to play but there is no real insentive, honestly, can you find a reason to be in Olympia? Heh, not me. Maybe for tournaments but ours was only successful because it had Marvel attatched to it and it was the first T5 tourney in the area.
I really don’t want to sound like I’m bitching but it’s hard to get the time and a guarantee of competition when it costs me as much as it does.
so w/gas money are you referring that as gas for your car? or someone else? if you dont have wheels then yes thats a problem. what about dave or jason? is it possible for the 3 of you to roll up some time? About the friday night issue, there is a session damn near everyday of the week. not just fridays. also kicks and seatac is set to 3/5 per game. i’m sure if you threw another t5 tourney mostof the same ppl will show (me, deezo, jeff, robert and i’m sure paris were there soley for tekken, marvel was something to pass the time for me). just try to set up a date and time in the near future and post it up in the seattle thread in TZ. i’m sure at least 4-5 ppl will be there.

A few things I can suggest to you John is:
Make sure you check out the combo exhibitions there, to give you an idea of what juggles are like in this game. The Kazuya combo exhibition is really good. You know about electrics and wavedashing don’t you? Make sure you get an understanding of the connotations used cause it’s really confusing at first, but after a while you understand everything someone’s talking about.
When you read the character strategy forums, look for people whose names are lighted up and shit. Because that means that those people are either mods or good players or most likely know what they’re talking about.
Also try to hit up Kicks when you know no one else will be there. Because playing the computer is the closest thing you’ll get to the training room until the game actually comes out. I’ve played the computer a grand total of 1 time. I need to see what I can mess around with one of these days.
And hit up the Tekken 5 general discussion forum some time. Because usually match vid links are there.
Unimportant update for those here that play T5-
I still get jacked for fun. I think my win/loss ratio is like 1:20. Something extremely ridiculous like that. When I win I’m surprised I didn’t lose. That’s how bad it is now. I suppose my main issue is lack of experience, so the solution should be to play more. But it still doesn’t make any difference. In any case, I got some shit I wanna try out now.
Check this out, there’s this mashing Asuka player here. That got like 9th in a tourney. So I play this kid yesterday at Seatac Mall and he gets raped. Next time I play him he’s like “wait, don’t put in your coins yet, I want to try something”. So he wastes about 15 seconds trying to mash out combos. Then he’s like “the buttons are like messed up or something nothing I want is coming out”. And I’m thinkin “no you dickface you dunno what you want to come out cause you’re fuckin mashin”. Next thing yknow we play again and I crease this nigga somethin awful and he leaves. I don’t remember nasty fucks like this playing Marvel. I’m sooooooooooo glad the trap days killed off the random scrubs in the beginning. Oh you use Guile/Iceman/Psylocke? Well damn I got Sent/Cable/BH, sorry!

okay, played t5 for the first time this week against ziggy at uw… which was acceptionally ugly because he has at least 1,000,000 games logged onto his little card thing and I have none in this game. I was expecting to get owned and wanted to try new characters. It would seem that Feng would be an easy to learn character as well as a very effective character for my style of play in Tekken…(btw i was delightfully supprised to find out that there is two grabs again). Back to my story I have decided to take up feng as my focus character for now being is how paul has been nerfed (for the way I play) and Lei’s rushing punches now has a hole in it (again nerfed for the f’ed up way i play tekken). ZIGGY is and i quote “horrible at sandbagging” so i only got a taste of what feng has to offer.

As far as our tourney goes i am gonna say we gonna have atleast 15 - 20 people, some you have seen before and even more that you haven’t, it depends on who has 2 work and who dosen’t. im also exepecting the vancover guys 2. Alot of people play T5 over here im just the only one that posts about it. As far as as your tourney goes, im trying 2 organize some rides so that people can go, its never a question of wanting 2 go its the transportation. BTW the better day 2 host a T5 tourney over there for us is the same day as the 2D stuff cuz we play that 2.
