Seattle (now f--king Oklahoma) sports thread

^-- I liked “oklahoma assholes” myself.

Also, how about those officials winning the BYU/UW game today? That’s a pretty nasty call right there. Bought officiating? It’s a pretty ridiculous game-deciding call.

Sunday update edit: Wow, hard to win football games without your three best receivers. This may be a long year.

Arizona is the only team in the NFC West that won this week.

Let me repeat that:

ARIZONA IS THE ONLY TEAM IN THE NFC WEST THAT WON THIS WEEK.

Storm games are rad. We might try to make one of the playoff games.

UW’s one-point loss to BYU is looking pretty awesome given that BYU is up 59-0 vs UCLA right now.

I remember when UCLA came to town for a football game two years ago. I was in the stands, cheering on the Huskies, and drunk frat boys in front of me had the greatest chant:

“F- (the word) U! C L A!”

Why the hell doesn’t the NFL adopt the college football-style overtime rather than the sudden death bullshit?

I’d like to applaud the Seahawks for setting the all-time record for most receivers injured at the same time ever.

 Seahawks making history the wrong way.

Hasselbeck’s open field block today to take out two guys letting Julius Jones score was pretty sweet and I recommend watching that highlight if you haven’t. My brother and I were going nuts over that. Plus it was right in front of our seats.

me and a buddy are goin to SafeCo to watch the Mariners lose hopefully 100 games. Tonight, tomorrow, and Wednesday. Should be fun!

^-- I’m kind of mad those knuckleheads stopped losing. FOOLS! Hopefully the Nationals refuse to draft Strasburg.

This is why the Storm rock:

Sooooooooo, as I hear it, Matt Hasselbeck WILL NOT be playing next Sunday night against the Buccaneers. We. Are. Fucked.

Various thoughts on the Seahawks…

-I’m kinda thinking they regret drafting Lawrence Jackson first round. Can he catch? Do you think he’d mind playing receiver?
-Why is our secondary back to like 2006 but without the injuries?
-Our offense is incredibly anemic. It was painful to watch.
-I feel sorry for Mike. This is his final season as a head coach, it’s absolutely shitty.
-Why the fuck did they draft Lawrence Jackson first round >=[.
-If this continues, I can’t help but wonder exactly how high of a draft pick we’ll get.
-We have the same fuckin record as the god damned Rams. Unbelievable.
-Where is Lawrence Jackson?!?!?!?

Please add your thoughts on this matter. This season so far reminds me of the painful childhood I had in the 90s due to shitty football management the Seahawks had along with bad luck =/. I know better than to stop believing but man, if we lose, we’re gonna be 1-5, that’s pretty bad.

I think Jackson will turn into a pretty decent player but you can’t get on the Seahawks GM for not predicting everyone on the offense was going to get injured. This year seems to be a throw away year.

I’m thinking high draft pick this year and get a buff lineman.

Shaun Alexander signed with the Redskins to back up Clinton Portis.

He doesn’t seem like the guy that would laugh in the Hawks faces, but I kinda think he might be doing so.

My thoughts on the Seahawks game:

  1. John Carlson, overrated.
  2. Our defense is surprisingly terrible. Jennigs just fell!
  3. Our offense is not so surprisingly terrible. Seneca Wallace looks tiny.
  4. Mike Wahle is terrible.
  5. I like how T. J. Duckett ran over the official.
  6. We SUCK!

I’m done with this game. Seattle sports is just letting me down; Seahawks are terrible, Huskies are winless, Mariners are horrible, the Sonics are gone, and I can’t even drink beer.

They were doing interviews with a DISCUS player on KJR (the SPORTS station) today at 2:40PM and I realized that this town could not get too much worse in terms of sports. :crybaby:

This is a legendarily bad year.

Tuba Guy is dead.

If you’ve ever been to a Sonics game, you’ve probably seen this guy. He had been a Seattle legend for a long time.

Totally fucked up. Hell, I barely attended sports events and I knew who that guy was, sad to see bad shit happen to good people.

The game vs the Eagles was like fucking a virgin.

At first they make you all excited and shit for no reason with a 90 yard bomb and suck the entire way.

As for Tuba man is concern, been to quite a few sporting events, I don’t think I haven’t seen him at one.

I knew John Carlson was hot garbage. I just knew it. Thanks to management for passing up on good players.
