It definitely felt a lot less cramped this time around.
Is it me or was SB really small this year? And surprised Marvel was smaller than AE since it’s a marvel major usually. I think SF had 400+ at SB:R right?
I drove twenty four hours, modded for fifty-five hours, damn near lost my eye in a freak soldering accident, and barely broke even in profits until AFTER I’d pulled an all-nighter after burning my eye.
That said, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
– First and foremost, I’d like to thank all our customers. We do this for you guys. I really appreciate your patience, especially after we got slammed as hard as we did (and after I ended up burning my eye). I ended up taking home four sticks to finish. It’ll be a few days before I can start on them, but please check my sale thread for updates and contact info. In case you’re wondering, I’m the older guy with the Boobie Stick. Gummowned is the one with the glasses, and Strogg is the guy who sat in the middle, but he was gone most of Sunday.
– More special thanks goes to Ghaleon and Harmon. I’ve heard about the Seasons Beatings hype for years, but you guys made me true believers. Thanks for the amazing hospitality! That was seriously one of the smoothest tournament experiences I’ve ever been in.

– phreakazoid: It was a pleasure actually getting to hang with you this time. We met at EVO last year as we huddled in the corner buying stuff from Toodles’ backpack like it was drugs, but we didn’t get a chance to talk. Your rep in the community is well-deserved, sir.
– ultradavid: Had a blast chatting it up with you in the hotel room. Kinda embarassed myself though by telling a story that was kinda down on the legal system, but you got called away before I got a chance to tell you how much I appreciate the things you contribute with your know-how.
– karaface: Getting to hang with you was probably the most pleasant experience I had all weekend. Shame you didn’t get any pictures of the eyepatch, though! See you in the AR thread, even though neither of us is technically from there! 
– Tim Static: Dude, you are chill as fuck. It was nice getting to hang with another old guy from the community, though you’re definitely not as pissy as Jason is. He liked the buttons, by the way.
– Gummo/Strogg: My partners in crime. Thanks for making this a successful weekend!
– PR Balrog: Man, now that you had that minor stick issue, expect to have me following you around like a hawk to make sure that stick works. God I was so embarrased. 15,000 people saw my shit break down on stream, even though it was a faulty part and not really my fault. Still embarassing though. Glad I avoided a PR nightmare (I love puns). But hey, at least you know I back my stuff up!
– Tom Brady: Gummo did the right thing. Kinda bummed about that.
– Keits: Thanks for the welcome break, man. Talking about The Binding of Issac and my bitch-fest about Dragon Nest really put my mind off of a complicated issue I was having. Maybe we’ll get to play TvC again someday?

– Combofiend: It was good seeing you again! Hadn’t seen you since I popped your Phoenix cherry at Final Round.

Yeah, it was smaller, only by about maybe100 ppl – any combination of:
-New SF4 and MvC3 editions are right around the corner
-Slightly higher venue that increased closer to the event
-$20 SF4/MvC3
I’m glad we did all those things however, because I think $20 games at majors is a logical step to make it worth people traveling across the country and/or world.
Regarding the venue: it was pretty reasonable to not increase the venue fee at all until Oct. 3. And we aren’t interested in stuffing a bunch of spectators and cosplayers in, we’d rather have competitors, so hence the no-discount for spectators (venue cap remains).
The biggest thing we didn’t count on was lack of MvC3 interest because Ultimate is around the corner. Thought we’d hit around 250 pretty easily. But it made the tournament run more smoothly

20 Bucks for a major is WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN. Pots should be bigger for increased payouts. Top 32 payout is cool.
I will say that making the Sunday team tournaments in MvC3 and AE $20 per person was high, considering that by Sunday, almost everyone is broke having lost all their money to Neo.
We did hear people didn’t like the Sunday TTs but IDK when else they’re supposed to run – after pools and events??
I know the $20 thing is kinda scary for TOs so IDK how many will do it but we will continue, even at our regionals and things.
Pretty sure the main reason was the announcement time, two months seems like very short notice to throw a major on.
Regardless, it was a really fun tournament, my only complaint is the lack of chairs on sunday.

Really dirty looking guy with incredibly long hair. I think his name was Happy Medicine. Seriously, you need to cut that hair. At first I thought you were a homeless person and was about to give you some spare change. I’m not sure how you thought that was a good look for you.

You work is phenomenal. You modded my stick Friday morning (I had the old TE with the black buttons and Yellow ball top). That same TE was the one my friend Flocker used the whole weekend and as you can see, not a single issue was given.
