Apparently Daigo got his revenge. But it wasn’t close at all like in SkiSonic’s twitter post(unless more of Champ’s wins weren’t recorded). Daigo won it 5-1, Sabin on the other hand did take it down to the wire and lost a very close one.

The first one was totally low-key and random, I just remember him winning 2-0 and then word trickled down the grapevine.
Then he rematched him apparently at Daigo’s request, and beat him again, I think it was 3-1. I know Tinshi recorded that match, who knows if he’ll put it up though. His commentary made it so good. That and FilipinoChamp snatching up the money extra quick, realizing he looked kinda rude doing so, and then bowing to Daigo with the money in his hands. Classic.
So I guess they’re even in wins now, haha.
Man every major I go to, the experience is better and better. I not only feel myself leveling up in games, but the connections that I establish with other players throughout the world is the greatest reward for going to majors.

I’ll start by thanking everyone who played in the OLD shit: ST, 3s, Marvel, GG – these games built the FG scene and as long as events can generate hype and fit them into the schedule there’s no reason for them to die.
AND thanks to the SSFIV and BB crews for coming out strong! Obviously without this influx of new blood events like Evo and SB couldn’t grow to the stature and hype that there are today – I just can’t believe that in Evo 2007 I was playing in a 300+ 3s tournament, and now at SB we ran a 415-man tournament! I hope nothing more than the scene to keep growing like this and bring in new players and interest. It’s so great that more sponsors, groups and publications are taking notice of our community.
P.S. I got at Nica KO about getting 3s stuff posted – anyone else please hit me up this week now that I’m kind of rested about video footage. Spooky is SOOOO godlike for helping get all this footage up on our YouTube and I cannot thank them enough!

Arturo vs Daigo was not for 1K. Hevad only came up something like $300 (or less) on that match and it was 2-1 odds. No one watned to bet big money on this and there wasn’t enough people in the room to get a good volume of bets. Unless Hevad gave Daigo a nice cut, Daigo only made $50 on it from Arturo himself.
