Season's Beatings: Redemption Results/Shoutouts

Anyone have the full top 32 results for SSF4?

First of all I would like to give a huge shout out to Shock, Nit, Fugee, Ghaleon, and anyone else who was responsible for getting me to Season’s Beatings this year. THANK YOU!

Tim Static. You are the man! From the minute I get off the plane to the minute I get back on, you were there. Best host I’ve ever met. Took me to Raising Canes for my secret love, chicken strips. Bought me a smoothy with “bubbles”, wtf?! lol, shit was wierd. After the hype train stopped, we went to Hounddogs for pizza. I’m still feeling that food haha…Much love for you man.

Shock, I’ve known you for years and finally got to meet you this weekend, it was a pleasure. It’s a shame that we didn’t get to play very many matches together, we will get that long set eventually.

Nit, I’ve already stolen your Kung Lao tactics man…used them on the Ohio guys after you guys left haha! We will get our MKII matches someday.

Phil, finally got to meet you. You are one of the most “real” people I’ve ever met. Props. Wish you didn’t have such difficulty with the cab setup, you have a really great Human Smoke. Thanks for running the brackets and being on top of everything that went on.

Simon, I hope you are feeling better, you looked pretty green when you went back to the room. It was a pleasure to meet and play you in person.

REO, congrats on winning the tournament. You are so good at every game you play. Watching you set up Moe in the Grand Finals to land a spin after he teleported away was so gdlk. It was nice to finally put a face to the name.

You guys are prepared for everything, it’s amazing. No drivers? I got something to get them. Not the right cord? Let me pull out the bag-o-wires, guaranteed it’s in there.

Lucky Day for “padding the cab”. Thank you for all that you did for the UMK3 scene at SB:R. You are a class act.

Big shout out to Team Spooky for being so patient and helpful in getting UMK3 on the stream.

Tom Brady aka Bill, you are hilarious! No matter what you are talking about, you make me smile. Had a pleasure talking to you, good luck at MLG.

Moe and Thrower from Chicago. Two guys who haven’t played the game in years, and coming to wreck shop for a weekend was an amazing thing to see. I’m so glad to have met and played you guys. Just watching and playing you two has already made me a better player. I took it all in like a sponge.

McLovins, you are pretty damn good at this game man, keep the UMK3 train running in Ohio.

LaoShu, I’ve played you online a few times, but playing you in person was a awesome. You play so different from everyone else, it took me off guard. Block for 40 seconds, then land a combo with Nightwolf and win! Too good lol

BlueIX, you are such an animated player, I had a blast playing you. Your uSub is getting better every time I see it. Thanks for supporting the scene whenever there is a tournament for it.

THTB, we had a lot of ggs on the cab. Glad to see you like the stick now. Very nice and patient Sonya.

Tony aka JohnnyCakes, got to see you play a few before you bolted. Good stuff. I hope everything is ok man. Last I played you was on the DS forever ago.

Fanatiq, we played 10 or so matches right before Fugee booted you out of the building. It was nice to see the genuine interest you have for the game. I’m just glad that I got to show you some things and play you.

Last shout out is to Fugee and Ghaleon for running the most hype tournament in the world.

If I forgot anyone, by all means, let me know!

Now I’m going to sleep for a week. Season’s Beatings: Recovery is now underway.

In my opinion, Gamerbee should’ve gotten more money for winning SSF4 out of 400 entries. $1400 for the biggest American tournament outside of evo is pretty laughable.

Marvel had a $3000 pot bonus.

If I care enough I’m thinking of sponsoring Marvel at some point to keep it from dying because it’s the best fighting game imo, even though I don’t have the time to play it. Like around +$1000 to the pot at some major on the NE.

ssf4 brings the crowd, mvc2 brings the hype. those 2 games should stay in the tournament for a while

he got flown across the globe and won $1,400 not including mms in 3 days for playing video games

fucking video games

Seasons Beatings 5 pictures by Siegfried14 - Photobucket

Most of the pics are up on my photobucket and facebook, and I’m currently uploading more. I still have to delete some of the crappy and blurry ones from this batch I’m uploading, but when I’m done there should be about 200 pics. I’m not an event photographer or anything, I’m just a gamer with a camera, so these aren’t all the best quality.

Enjoy!

Where did you read that? $1400 for first placer sounds like they gave place 4 to 8 over 5% of the total pot each.

Gamerbee himself confirmed this. I was rooming with his translator and himself. I believe Momochi won $1,000 but that isn’t confirmed.

This was the best MvC2 tournament ever! Shoutouts and props to Team WC!!

Shoutouts to Fugee and Ghaleon for the best tournament of the year hands down.

And shooutouts to Fanatiq for the best hustle this weekend hahaah good shit once again.

Hevad The Underboss Khan good seeing you once again and owning us all in ceelo =D

Juicebox it was a pleasure finally meeting you you are a character =)

I’ll post more later

And alll you Daigo fanboys can suck it

Great job with the awesome tournament Ghaleon/Fugee/GDLK entertainment/people that ran brackets i.e. Havoc/Wiggy/Inifinite. I had a blast watching the mvc2 crowds and just seeing so many damn people in MoMos for a tournament in Ohio. I was definitely glad the bulgoki/bulgogi wasn’t trash and the boba tasted pretty delicious.

Tytytytyty to Billy Bagnus for making this all happen. I cannot say enough to express thanks but you already know playbweieieie. Justus/Jesse/Wes/Potter/Nam made the trip fun. Friday was epic. Saturday was sick. Sunday was sick too. RIP Bob Evans. See you guys later.

It was nice seeing all the EC players for the marvel madness. Liston, Erik, Josh Wigfall, Inifinite, Sanford, Josh360, Amir, Nelson, Xecutioner, Yipes, and everybody else. I might not have talked much to y’all but I appreciated the hype you guys always bring to the scene. Even if this is the last epic mvc2 tourny, I am not disappointed with how it turned out. Yipes/Chris Schmidt finals were awesome. The two of you are the best out.

A big thank you to skeet sonic/baltimore pete for the boost on Sunday. Thanks to Baltimore Pete and Matrix for knocking my ass out 0-2 at my last marvel event. you guys played well.

Big ups to Hevad for making the pot extra juicy. That money made everybody play their A+ game and it was a sight to see.

4loko is ass and crunk juice grape flavor is legit. I still don’t see the hype behind Cane’s. Until next time…

i heard f champ beat daigo in 2 money matches, anyone know if those vids are on youtube yet?

IIRC Daigo’s MM were not recorded as per his request.

I don’t know who talked Megaman Steve into coming out of CTF, but it was great seeing him on the big stage. Thanks to whomever made that happen.

<3 to fugee hevad ghaleon & eeeeeveryone

No, thank you for promoting my mixes. Hopefully people were liking the music and want to check out more tunes like that.

I think he has the best miyako in the EC in melty blood.

Why would Daigo not want his money matches recorded? Not that I’m trying to judge it or anything, just wondering what the idea behind that was.

some random people were recording everything daigo MM related. I don’t know their names, just hope they post it up on youtube.

I could be wrong, but I think it was that he didn’t want to have his MMs streamed. He had to know there was no way people wouldn’t record them… impossible to stop that.

^ this.

Also, I forgot:

Jchensor: Great to finally meet you and chat with you. You one cool mother effer, man. Hope to catch you again soon.

Mike Ross/Juicebox Abel: It was awesome to meet you and play you. You’re both awesome, and I hope to meet you guys again. As for people saying Juicebox’s dance is disrespectful, I got to play him in casuals, and personally I thought it was hilarious having him do it next to me. Hell, I half joined in the dance the best I could the 2nd and 3rd times he hit me with ultra.
