Well I definitely see what you mean especially in MVC2–then again that can be applied to any game really–I guess.
I’m glad it wasn’t taken as being confrontational.

haha that’s cool im not hating… i just feel 2/3 and 3/5 matches are pretty much you have to step it up when it counts… if a person has perfect execution… that’s great… but some peeps can have the execution all they want… and then the time comes… then the freeze up…those that can contiune that execution when the pressures on… will survive… i feel sometimes… ft10 gives away too many freebies…on either side… i mean people on the losing end can easily throw away a match to see how the other works…and he knows he has plenty chances… on the other side it’s like the winner can give up the match… esp. if he’s ahead to cool nerves/stratigize… w/e… not saying it’s not intesne… it is… i just feel 2/3, 3/5 is more crucial… every match counts imo…
good debate i like it…
Long sets prove who is better than who.
FACT!
I’m sorry, but in top level MM or First to 10 there is no such thing as freebies or throwing away a match. You lose one match your gonna be behind and thats not fun losing because u gave one match off as a freebie… You think you might have an advantage if u adapt to his style, but if hes good hes gonna adapt to what your doing. 2/3 & 3/5 is guessing game basically with magneto… He destroys adaption because hes random as fuck and he can kill u in 1 touch…
I agree tournament is more crucial when you are debating rankings. Also it could be fair to claim you are better then someone if you consistently beat them in tourny but ultimately it will result into a long set when the loser feels they are better.
Yes you do owe us bitches Fugee lol:rofl:
FT10 is a test of endurance, imo. How long can you keep up the pressure? How at what round would your execution and timing falter? Is their a noticable difference between your first round and your 9th? A lot more factors come into play when long sets are on the table.
Also, imagine if the main Justin v Yipes at SB3 was first to 3. What kind of main event would that have been?
long sets, short sets… whatever. We all know who is good, we all recognize when people step their game up, we can see when flukes happen (none at this tourney), etc.
Players that want to hold onto “long set = better” mentality, basically just need to realize that mvc2 = one hit kill. We’ve been saying this for years, but now its sort of actually been realized because people have really stepped that magneto up. Whatever, if you don’t like it, you should probably play another game.
Im not really here for that debate, what I wanted to say was this:
YOU ALL MISUNDERSTOOD WHEN FINESSE SAID RETARDED.
Im pretty sure he just meant retarded as in crazy. Not retarded as in they don’t make sense. So get them chips off your shoulders already, dude’s from socal, the land of janky and all that other ish.
FT10 proves who is better at FT10.
2/3 proves who is better at 2/3.
First to 10 doesn’t neccessarily prove shit either, if the set(s) ends up being close.
first to 100 is better oo wait mahvel doesnt go that high. :looney:
oh god… let’s not and say we did
FT50
DO IT!!
Tournaments are flukes in general, they dont prove whos better then who… Has nothing to do wit a mentality its just what it is. This tournament proved it, if you honestly dont believe that look at the standings… But i know someone is gonna say that (random nigga) stepped their shit up, how do you step your shit up in a 2/3? Please ppl use some common sense…
Then you can say they are evenly matched…very simple. Also by watching how they play you can tell whos better? Why does this even need to be said is beyond me…
2/3 counts. “Average” guy should only beat good guy 1 game, “if” that. S’all good. People are getting better, and/or just decided to pull out chi mode that day.
Mehhhh I definitely don’t agree, usually people who say tournaments mean nothing are the ones that can’t place. To me people who have been consistently placing high i.e wong shows that he can win when it counts. In a FT10 u can take stupid risks or play a certain way cause u know it’s going on longer.
Tournaments aren’t longer. Just some day someone is on. U can’t base it off 1 tournament showing but tournaments are definitely a test of skill.
if tounaments don’t count… then why come? i can understand the meeting people… but if you come to prove yourself and see if you step up or not… you shuld be runnin the guantlet that is tourney… i mean come on… surely you need to prepare for not just top players… sleeping is gonna get ya killed… you step your shit by being clutch at that moment…if peeps is gonna sleep… then they just wasn’t prepare… you can prepare for 2/3… you do it all the time in tourneys… you get experience as you progress…
i just feel sometimes… that FT10 give people to many oppurtunies… why do you need that much to prove that your best against such and such…?
in tourney you running against a bunch to get that crown… so you should be prepare for anyone…average, above avarage… Top…w/e…
just $.02 :china:
more like 200 dollars, this mad speaks the truth.
Honestly I dont care about being the best anymore, cause everyone has their opinion of who is the best. This is like the WWE, someone is always gonna pop off so whatever. I go to tournies for 3 reasons 1st and foremost I go to chill with ppl that i see like 2-3 times a year in person (All my WC homeboys). 2nd to get drunk in another state and 3rd for any money i can make be it side bets or bowling <-LMAO hold dat =p. But yeah im not super competitive, I play the best anyway all i do now is enjoy the game.
Now im sorry but what your saying makes no sense, so tourney proves whos the best? Sorry to bring this up but Arthur is a solid player from NY and he beat sanford in tourney. Does that say hes better? No. FT10 gives ppl too many oppurtunies? Thats the point…Its all about adaptation. If you really believe what you say then we can do him vs Arthur first to 10 for $100, . Marvel is random im sorry but in top level play you mess up then you can die in 1 hit and either player can get hit. Now I cant tell who will win between Justin and Sanford awhile ago it was clear that Justin would win but its not like that no more. There are more examples but if you cant understand where im coming from after this post then any futher posts regarding this topic will be a waste on my end.
P.S Luis stop smoking crack its affacting your sense of reality. =P
What’s this embarrassing opinion of reality? It looks like I’m going to have to trap someone again :shake:
All im saying is its easy for ppl to say stuff when your watching as opposed to playing a really good player…
P.S. We can run it whenever you want lol.
