post bucktooth fight commentary… an yes we need more Phi Tv
i know im hella late but good shit
i’ve been saying that chris s. and yipes were the future for along time now
results are retarded
i agree
Why are the results retarded?
Because people expect the top players to always stay at the top. People treat MvC2 like the WWE, as if results are supposed to be scripted.
Everyone that actually went to Ohio knows these results aren’t retarded. Everyone there was there to win and played their best. I guess people were expecting;
Justin
Sanford
Yipes
Etc…
Except,
Justin Lost to Chunk and Sanford
Sanford lost to Me and Chris S
Yipes Lost to Chris S
Matrix sends Chris S to losers and beats Rowtron
J360 Beat Chunk, Brandon and Jmar
I beat Matrix
etc
and when people watch the vid’s they’ll see how cut throat everyone was at that tournament.
props on powering up
Exactly, and that is my nig Rairu was getting at. Once that footage gets released people will know just how beastly this tournament was. I was there in person and I am still amazed at the high level of play displayed through out the event. People don’t even know, shit was crazy.
Thank you Sanford Killer and Pablo for the replies. THATS what’s up. Players hovering just beneath the top of the established marvel heirarchy are fucking serious. Fools just need to recognize.
No grimey ffa heads in the top 8.
2 out of 3 can make ANY top player lose to an Average player.
but that’s the thing… people need to do it on the fly… like seriously…
i like those matches fugee set… ft10, ft7… but come on… i mean how many chances do you want to figure out your opponet
i feel 2/3 or 3/5 gives plenty of time to try to figure out switch or figure out what to dos
if top players lose to so called average players… then what’s that say…top players need to prepare not just on top players alone
and yea i feel it’s been like that only because that they are just that well known for it…
but alot of players are dangerous (J360 is the fucking man) so top players need to watch out… cuse up and comers are gunning for that #1 spot
pretty much summed it up, all about being clutch. Whoever wants it more wins.
LOL The results are far from retarded. Had you been there and actually saw the level of play EVERYONE demonstrated, that shit looked like it was anybodies game. Everyone played at the top of their game and there were some crazy ass upsets. One error basically cost you a match easily. Everyone was playing to win. It’s not that hard to see that in the results. Dudes were all gunning for that #1 spot.
Viva!
Your av=win.
That video is classic.
Good shit to everyone I played, though. I’ll try and make it out next year, too. This was a really fun tourney.
Yeah, that shit is insane!
But does that take away from the “Average” players ability or potential? What if they’ve been striving to improve and actually do that to some degree?
I think it sucks that if an average player happens to improve that it has to be cemented so many times before someone respects it. I think its an unfortunate thing that has always been a part of how players are categorized.
I mean really, how many times does someone have to win to prove a point? 2 out of 3 should be enough–especially in a tournament setting. This isn’t to say that if an average beats someone good once that they’re godlike all of a sudden, there’s still a ways to go but at the same time the first step shouldn’t be just tossed to the side.
I’m not starting anything I just wanted to get a better explanation–because it implies that average players will be average no matter what–even if they do win against better players.
Some “average” players do want to get better and if they’re at least beginning to attempt to win matches they are “supposed to lose” I think it at least means something–albeit minor in the big scheme of things.
its not hard to figure out really:
Top players are defined by how they place at major tournaments and even more so if other Top finishers from other regions are in the same tournament.
All #1 finishers from every region of the country were here so it truely was a bracket of death in the top 32.
Nowadays any player with near flawless execution only needs a few hits and the match is over no matter who is on the receiving end.
In any case a couple of FT10’s is the route to take if you want to prove you are better then someone IMO.
