Okay so I figured with the beginning of the next ranbat season being next Friday that I would create a thread that would hold all the information regarding seeds, results, placement, and all that.

1st Place - 10 Points
2nd Place - 7 Points
3rd Place - 5 Points
4th Place - 3 Points

Ya’ll know the rules for each game. Five dollar entry for Marvel, winner keeps the same team, order, etc. Five dollar entry for CvS2, winner keeps the same team, same order, etc. Three dollar entry for ST, winner keeps the same character. You can blind pick if you want, ask to switch sticks, etc etc.

Marvel payout will be:
70/20/10

Okay remember, I’m lazy, I’m kinda ghetto as well, I don’t like to show up on time, neither does Frank. Typically speaking I’d like to start Marvel around 9:30-9:45 pm. I imagine Frank will be trying to start CvS2 around that time as well. I’ll have him post with that information. I’d really like to know who’s running ST and when they wanna run that tourney. In an attempt to have things run smoother, lessen the chaos, and shit like that. If you happen to be running late, just give a nigga a call, I’ll get you in the brackets. The way I’ll be running it is just like the last tourney we had. The four seeds will be in, you pay/sign up, and at that time you decide where you go on the bracket. Old school Southcenter style basically. It will be the same way for CvS2 as well. I imagine ST will be different.

How long do ranbat (ugh) seasons usually last? I noticed our last one was four months long. That seems like a good time frame.

ST brackets

ST brackets were left with Airthrow and XTG. From my memory (I could be wrong), the top 8 contained

Julien Beasley,Julian Blake,Keith,XTG,Mandel,FatBear,Mo, MikeD

Results were

  1. Julien Beasley (Boxer, Dictator, Claw, Chun Li, DeeJay)
  2. Keith (Claw)
  3. Julian Blake (Boxer)
  4. XTG (Zangief, Claw)
    5-8: Mo (??), Mike D(??), FatBear (Ken, Dhalsim), Mandel (Chun Li)

Not sure of the ordering of 5-8 and who Mo and Mike D played. Maybe the person with the bracket or someone with a better memory can post :sweat:

highlight of a match for me was nohoho-ing XTG’s running bear grab with Claw. Gross!

Sam couldn’t have tied for 7th with me because he beat me in losers. I really wish they didn’t make off with the brackets. I would’ve posted the point info and all that already.

I didn’t say that Sam tied with you for 7th… I said that places 5-8 comprised of you, Sam, Mo, and Mike D… I don’t know who took 5th and who took 7th.

Before we faced off for the honor of fighting Blake, Nate beat SamY and I beat Mo Shannahan. So SamY and Mo tied for 5th, while Mandel and Mike took 7th.

What happened to Eric Vega? He was there last night, and he usually places in the top 6 for ST. Did he play? Also, what happened to Alex “Daikatana” Kelly? Wasn’t he supposed to give that Gray Fox dude a ride? I was also expecting him to bring the re-issued AE for PS2.

Odd that Blake took the brackets so he could write up the results, but has yet to do so. It’s been over 36 hours. He’s also posted on SRK since then, so it’s not as though he hasn’t had access to internet.

So, ST should just be on the cabinet. No point in playing shit versions of the game when we have a PERFECT version available right there thanks to Zach’s cab. The newer sticks on the small cabinet are awesome, a little stiff, but still good. Thoughts?
