i would drive all the way from paradise hills(22.8 miles away) to play if it was…
it would surely be a party because i know everyone would want to go…
but it doesn’t look like anything is happening so ill just drive to chula vista (4.4 miles away) to play for 50c.
why should i spend $3.65 for the gas to get up there if it’s going to be the same price to play at chula vista, plaza bonita, or mission valley which are all within 10 miles of paradise hills? better sticks? hell.
maybe ill throw casuals this weekend. bring your own joystick!

hmm… i just read most of this thread. thanks, muddclub, for listening to us and removing the admission fee.
you should, however, lower the price of the FIGHTING GAMES to 25 cents, as everyone has already said. i can understand why you would be reluctant, but how about this? just try it for a month. one month. i think the risk for you is very low (if not none at all), considering that you are not getting many customers on the fighting game cabs as it is. after a month, you would have data to compare with the status quo. if the results look promising, extend the test for another month, and gather more data. etc.
you’ve already taken a risk by removing the admission fee, and probably to your dismay people are still not going. so it’s understandable why you’d be reluctant to make fighting games 25 cents. but don’t let that discourage you in achieving what i assume is your long-term goal of getting people in the door on a regular basis. don’t let that blind you to the fact that there’s one more crucial barrier that must be removed, and that is the price per play.
try it for a month!!!
i’m kind of hesitant to suggest this, but if you’re still not sure about the 1-month experiment, maybe you could try this: 25 cents for continues, 50 cents for first time. maybe? actually that might be how it is now, i’m not sure :X
Well…that is a good idea. It’s really a shame that Muddclud doesn’t think so. Muddclub wouldn’t even listen to our suggestion of making it 25 cents for just this weekend as a test run. Unfortunately, if they’re not willing to do that, then they’re not willing to implement your idea. Unfortunately for them, not only am I not driving way out there to play games that I can play for the same price at places close to me, but I’m also not recommending any of my friends or any of the people on this website do that either.
They had their chance. They missed it. I hope they’re still around to correct that mistake someday.

Just a little food for though. Nickle city still has an admission fee. The games are 25 cents. The cabinets suck ass, both of them. Mudd clubb has no admission fee, but games are 50 cents, only 1 cabinet, but works pretty dang good and they are willing to fix it on the spot. People dont go because they get more bang for their buck at a nickel where its only 3 nickles to play. When we go there randomly fri or sat, we have like at least 4 or 5 people playing marvel for hours, and thats a non-scheduled event heh. You do the math…
