Fun fact: spiral swords in Devil May Cry 3 cost 2 Devil Trigger Runes. The max number of DT Runes you could have was 10 but you started with only 3. So TECHNICALLY making Spiral Swords cost 1 Hyper bar fits with DMC3 style. That said, I think that they should have made it work more like DMC3 and made the spiral sword variations free and then just increased the cost for SS to 2 bars. Making sword storm and blistering sword cost an extra bar was stupid since it uses up the spiral swords ANYWAY and is less useful.

Agreed. People don’t realise just how ridiculously Dan would have to be changed to make him not broken if he was given that command grab or how useless the move would have to be otherwise. Beyond that some of the suggestions in Dan thread is the pure definition of going full retard, shoutouts to projectile invincible Ex Dankus, overheads, +8 on hit crouching mp, making the legendary taunt fully invincible etc.
I don’t think legendary taunt should be FULLY invincible myself, but I think making it invincible until the last ultra cancelable frame (231) would actually be an interesting game mechanic as it would give Dan what amounts to the first move in a fighting game (AFAIK) where the entire point is to timer scam.
But yeah, the rest of the stuff people are asking for Dan might actually break him. OS command throw on a character that has an airborne armor breaking special that is 0F on block? That is seriously asking for trouble.
And even my wish for the Legendary Taunt to be invincible for 230F may not break him, but it sure as hell would be annoying, and doesn’t really serve a whole lot in terms of making him an overall more viable character. I just think it would be an interesting mechanic.
Also, Error0001’s command throw thing is actually speculation. All he had to go on was the animations which point to the idea it MIGHT have been a command throw. it Also could have been a move like Ibuki’s Raida that isn’t a true command throw but has a canned animation like a throw. Or given the actual name of the animation it may have even been a COUNTER throw as the move is called “Zanshin” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zanshin which due to the definition of Zanshin points to the idea of it being some sort of counter type move.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem with that, I always beat the crap out of Blankas but it’s still annoying.
Make prolonged electricity punishable more easily. It happens too often that you take damage just because you tried to punish it. Make the hitbox smaller and the hurtbox bigger, and hopefully people will stop sitting there and mash electricity all day, and start to use it when you’re supposed to (end of blockstrings, combo ender).

I think this is in the wrong thread but to answer your question. Cody’s ultra 2 (which is the one I’m guessing is being discussed) only juggles if you only land ONE hit of the dust and it has to be at a certain height. The first wrench swing only has 1 juggle potential. But there are 7 hits of dust.
I don’t think it’s silly to talk about “canon” per se, because presentation matters (yes it does) and these are elements that appeal to gamers, even the more serious ones. Just as long as it’s not talk of altering the mechanics in some wholly harmful way to stick with that “canon.”
Everytime I hear the words “Cody U2” and “Dust”, this comes into my mind:
I guess it won´t be an armor break move, but it still looks a bit weird for me that counter ultras can beat it.(Come on, dust gets countered) However that would be one of these “real world” arguments, same like canon/gender or whatever, if I would advocate it to make this move armor breaking.

Yeah, I think that Vega’s claw is actually pretty well balanced as it is. Especially compared to the shit that is Cody’s knife. I do think Vega should get something when he has no claw (Alpha 3/ST his reach was worse but his hitboxes were better on some moves. ) The suggestion for his frame advantage to be better I think has a lot of potential to break him. My suggestion was for his punch attacks to gain 25% stun bonus when he doesn’t have the claw.
People ultimately want two things: their preferred character to be a swiss army knife for every single situation possible – while in the same breath claim their preferred character takes a higher grade of player to utilize. We all want shit to be fair like Karate Champ, but we also want to come off as bad ass underdogs like we’re video game Rocky’s. Human beings are just fucking weird.
My Makoto tech knowledge is so early 2012, that I wouldn’t know what to ask for in the current environment and if pushed for a change suggestion, would recommend something par for the dumb stuff. The largest barrier I have with her was movement options (which she has more than you’d think if you’re willing to get creative)…but that barrier is a good thing to have and is a big part of her design (creep around like a turd rolling up hill and then suddenly go 100mph when things are right). So I guess I want nothing changed. Sounds good to me!

In Capcom-Unity’s defense, being an official entity they can’t just shit on bad but relevant threads or allow people to “real-talk” others…because it becomes Capcom shitting on their customer’s threads and allowing other customers to hurt other customer’s feelings. That’s a bad look. I, on the other hand, have no problem shitting on bad threads…and SRK users as a whole enjoy calling out someone’s bullshit when they are talking out of their ass. It’s a system that seems to work!
As a quick aside: Capcom-Unity serves a really good purpose and does a good job catering to its audience compared to what they started with. It’s an outreach to the fans/community that was pretty much non-existent pre-SethK – just like how SRK caters to its own brand/style of player. I’m just not into the undertone of this thread being SRK dogging an entire community. I am, however, into discussing and battering bad suggestions.
Some of this stuff actually isn’t so crazy. It may be unbalanced in its current form, but if tweaked it could work. I think it’s just that it’s clumped up in the middle of so much other nonsense that it seems nuts.
As for Dan I’d be awesome if his legendary taunt was invincible.
