Just started reading Cammy today and this is the first char I’m reading…

^WTF… is this type of thing normal on Capcom Unity.

Post of the year @ Capcom Unity, of course in Akuma’s thread:

I never really understood why Akuma had such powerful tools in the first place. He is not even an iconic character for Capcom (like Ryu or Chun) to stand out like that.

I’m not saying that he is the best character in the game, but now that Cammy, Seth and Adon are being toned down, he will easily become. And please Akuma players, don’t try and deny it. Some of his moves need adjustments.

1. Reduce damage on j.Hk and cr.Hk

Reason: He is an average size character that has no reason to hit harder than the rest of the cast.

2. Reduce damage on far Hk

Reason: He deals damage on a 2 hitting move while most of the cast only get 100 or 110 on this kind of move. No reason to not be fair here.

3. Reduce chip damage on ALL MOVES

Reason: Since those are safe moves that Akuma can spam all day, it should deal less chip. He has to many moves that can be used against turtlers and get chip damage and they are to strong. They should do 15 like a blocked hadouken or Sakura’s lk tatsu.

4. Reduce damage on regular hadoukens

Reason: That is too much damage for a safe move. They deal damage while other safe moves do much less.

5. Palm / SRK should NOT armor break

This is the most important request of all.

Reason: Akuma already has a LOT of armor breaking moves. It is so cheap to remove focus from footsies with him. Tatsu might remain an armor breaker, because if it weren’t, there would be no use to it. However, Palm / SRK leave him right on your face, taking all that chip, and do a ton of damage when landed. I really wanted Palm to become punishable on block, but that would really take out all his options. He has to be annoying and stay on your face withPalms, BUT, he also has the 2 hitting far HK to break focus. If someone starts spamming focus on you, you have that, tatsu and anything else you want (it doesn’t break focus but is a 2 hitting move) to counter it. The Akuma players are complaining because they will have to THINK and CHOOSEbetween their moves. Something that they don’t have to do right now. Guess what? You are going to have to think and choose like the other characters.

Also, the Ex version of SRK is fireball invincible, AND armor breakable. Come on. Are you trolling? It should be fireball invincible, but also armor breakable? That’s too much.

6. Reduce hitbox of J.mk

Reason: It is a really ambiguous move the can hit anytime in the jump in, whether he hits you with his front feet, back knee or even with his crotch (lol). It could have a hitbox decrease.

7. Hk version of Flip punishable on block

Reason: Only the EX version is punishable. Hk and EX versions are the same, except for EX being fireball invincible, so HK version should also be -4 or -5 on block. There’s no reason to decrease the recovery of the other versions since they are only used to bait.

All these changes are going to put him on the same level with the other characters once they are toned down too.

Fireballs doing 60 is TOO much damage…
Akuma is a mini demon that shouldn’t hit hard…

There are probably 3-4 match ups that are 8-2, a few 7-3s in the entire game and Akuma has nothing to do with any of them. Dhalsim, Blanka and Guile have some 7-3s in their favor but they have several bad match ups. Cammy and Seth both have 7-3s in their favor on top of a bunch of 6-4s. These guys are complaining about the wrong character.

Akuma-Chun is 7-3 in Akuma’s favor, it’s her worst matchup by far.

I will agree that Cammy/Seth are higher, though.

It’s all uphill for her once she gets knocked down imo, she has few ways around Demon Flip plus divekick vs EX bird. 6.5 if you believe in decimals, but I’d rather round out things.

At higher level of play 1 frame links are too easy. Everyone is plinking so it becomes a 2 frame link - easy as pie. After his light tatsu -> sweep (which is 1 frame link) he gets hard knockdown. This is too good. He gets a hard knockdown after every BnB combo.

This needs to be nerfed.

Either:

1. Make it so he can’t do sweep after light tatsu.
   2. Make the link a 1/2 frame link so even if they plink it, it becomes a 1 frame.
   3. Make it so that his sweep doesn’t make a hard knockdown.

I have a feeling this is the last time Capcom will ask the community for feedback, Capcom Unity has exceeded the STUPIDITY limit a VERY long time ago.

Suggestion:

UC2: make UC2 can be performed using one KKK instead of inputting KKK twice (teleport and UC2 commands), input double KKK gives Akuma extra risk to lost combo when the player doesn’t feel like going in the lab and practicing.

x-factor level 4. If you do x-factor within 3F after your last character dies, instead of ending the round all of your characters are revived and you have x-factor level 3 speed and damage.

Akuma Gief is a nightmare for Gief imho.
I’m a scrubby Gief palyer but I have no clue what I can do against good zoning Akumas. If at least there wasn’t the TP, but this is a hell to predict and OS correctly And finaly punish. It’s also not that easy to time a AA lariat. There’s ways for Akuma to jump at Gief and put some pressure considering his risky ways to avoid that, gambling. U2 isn’t an very good AA when you’re attacked within few frames. This shit need a 720 “in the air”. You land it by predicting and preying, or against a very stupid move from the opponent. If 2013 bring a ground to air U2, there we can start to play
Akuma also have a very sneaky DF grab loop gimmick on Gief.
It’s a nice match when the Akuma wanna play, but if they want to win, zoning time and good luck Gief.
And when I play my main Akuma against other Giefs, I can feel this now.

U2 isn’t an very good AA when you’re attacked within few frames. This shit need a 720 “in the air”.

I’m pretty sure you can buffer the 720 on the ground then go in the air to press the triple buttons only to activate the ultra.

DF grab is useful if timed meaty but it’s Very Risky, Gief can backdash and punish with his SPDs which hurt like a mother fucker.
DF dive kick can be AA’d with delayed lariat, a trade would be in Gief’s favor
If you get palm option select or safejump happy on Gief, he can EX SPD on wakeup which will beat a regular safejump.

He’s not an easy character to vortex at all. He’s also not the easiest to AA, with his short jump and godlike air normals, you have to be flawless in this matchup with your AAs. Even though it’s in Akuma’s favor, I personally hate to play it, it’s too nerve wrecking to me.

Besides my main and alt, Gief is one of the characters I tend to use often and I find the matchup vs Akuma players not that difficult and actually like to play it, neither I or my opponents are “high level” though so I guess it doesn’t mean shit lol

I don’t think about knockdowns when I play Akuma as Gief, just slowly push Akuma to the corner and poke him or jab SPD to death, Gief can take a lot of air fireballs as he’s getting in, it pretty much tickles him on block.

How serious Capcom is going to take suggestions is unknown, but I figure that if a person wants to be taken seriously they should at least do some research on their change ideas and why those ideas would be good for whatever character. So many posts in all the threads with just a list of stuff that makes no sense and isn’t explained.
