I love that Evil Ryu’s thread has almost as many posts as any two other threads from the same week COMBINED. (almost but not quite.)
I’m actually surprised the Bison thread has the most posts overall. I thought for sure it’d be a shoto thread.
Next up… the top tier.
These next few days are going to be glorious.
Prepare yourselves. This kind of phenomenon only occurs once per millennia. I’m expecting GREAT things from the Cammy thread.
TBH I expect that the Cammy thread will have more people bitching for OBSCENE nerfs (which she only needs a couple of minor nerfs if they fix unblockables.) than I expect Cammy players to be whining about “don’t nerf Cammy” or asking for extreme buffs. Now the Akuma/Seth threads are going to be redonkulous from both sides of the issue. I know some people already talking about Akuma buffs (I saw some guy mention in the Evil Ryu thread that he is going to ask for Akuma to have 900 health and that he has some good stuff for Oni.)
Also it looks like Combofiend fell asleep before starting the new threads (judging by the fact it’s 4:30AM PST and they still aren’t up.) So guess there will be a few more hours for Evil Ryu players to take the coveted “3rd longest request thread” crown from Ryu. (only 6 posts away!)
I kind of think that the week planning for the characters went like this:
Week 1 Characters we think are ok and we know week 1 will likely have the most traffic. We can ignore most of this.
Week 2 Characters we keep messing with but can’t seem to get right. We’ll probably poke around a bit in this one but these guys are a lost cause.
Week 3 Characters Evil Ryu and Hakan. Those 2 characters will take up most of our time that week so the rest will have to wait for AE2014.
Week 4 ??? Derp
Seriously I can’t figure out what they were thinking with Week 4. What genius decided to put Ibuki, Fei Long, Seth, Cammy, Akuma, Adon, El Fuerte, Oni and Viper in the same week? Ok I’ll grant you Oni isn’t super amazing or anything. And El Fuerte has issues but he is also one of the most hated characters in the game. The other 7 though? Ib, Fei, Seth, Cam, Aku, Adon, Vip? All at once? Are they hoping people asking for nerfs will get exhausted due to the overwhelming number of characters and slow down? These characters are all going to get a TON of shit, only Adon and Fei might get out relatively clean. The rest though wooo boy somebody better call the Whaambulance because even though I think some of those characters could use some small nerfs coupled with buffs the stuff people are going to suggest are probably out of this world.
I think the idea of the week 4 character group was vortex-characters and for some odd reason Oni, Adon and Fei Long were added to the list as well. Fei and Adon most likely just for being top-tier.
Capcom should make a True Last Boss version of Evil Ryu called “Eviller Ryu”. He is basically the same but he is more evil, and he wants more and more blood. His clothes are dirtier and his hair is so long that the opponent trips over it (his Ultra combo) and his ending should show that the reason he turned even more evil is because Capcom ignored the buff requests on the Unity forums.

Because there is no reason to use them if you can just play Akuma. Is there honestly a match where you would use Evil Ryu over Akuma?
I would advise against using the numbers on the tier list because it looks like it was either
4-6 because "lol Evil Ryu sucks"
6-4 copy paste from Ryu
5-5 “I don’t know”

The new threads are up. Cammy, Akuma, Oni, Seth, Fei, Adon, Viper, Fuerte and Ibuki. This will be a good week.
I actually thought about suggesting the ability to allow Evil Ryu to feint his HK axe kick like how Viper can feint her Seismo.
Well in the end we tied Bison. I don’t know about the other threads, but for us it got that high mainly because of discussion. Their was plenty of back and forth about what he should and shouldn’t get. Some of us tried to calm down the crazier suggestions while others dissected how Evil Ryu would benefit more or the most from certain buffs. I think for the most part it was sensible and most of us saw eye to eye or at least understood each other. I was tempted to spam a bit more just to make it #1, but I didn’t. Now I kind of wish I did, but oh well. Time to cross our fingers now.
I’m wondering how many people are going to ask for FADC on block for Oni.
People are already saying they want to nerf Seth’s “swirly” thing lol
The funny thing is these “top 2 AE2012 characters” are actually nerfed compared to their Super counterparts.
