Wasn’t this that SNES game with the few Chars only appering in the japanese version or this Arcade, C-64 game??? Well if it was the SNES one…, I liked it a lot exspecially that Kung Fu/Karate, or whatever he was, Boss. The music was damn cool and he had a great stage in that building. In there was a short path were a Heli tries to get your ass and then you go up to his Dojo.^^ That speedy Cyborg was great, just to let you know …

I don’t think I’d really say capcom was the King of this genre. If it wasn’t for Double Dragon being as huge/big of a hit as it was (as simple as the mechanics were) do you think this genre would have been as big as it was? Who knows? Aside from having The Ninja Warriors graphics (but not as clean and polished), and the ability to select 3 different characters, Final Fight is still a DD clone. Konami made quite a few good to great scrolling beatemups like Crime Fighters (I love the ting sound when you got kicked in the nads). Sega had a HUGE hit with Golden Axe as there were people waiting in line to play it. And the SOR series got better as they progressed, where as Final Fight, did not. SOR was already a great game, and to only get better with each sequel, means the designers were doing their homework. Spiderman, Alien Storm and Die Hard arcade (to name a few) were pretty damn good too.
Yeah man that was the game…Ninja Warriors had a sequel that came out on SNES…(Ninja Warriors Again)most people don’t know that in the arcade version of Ninja Warriors the masked ninja enemies cussed at you too!!!
They said “No damn way!!” I was like 8-10 at the time and said 'Cool!!! I hope dad doesn’t hear this!!"
Now I play it on my Emu’s from Mame and other things REGULARLY.
IMO the best scrolling beat’em up I played is Super Double Dragon on the SNES.

That was a good game Atb!! What I hated about the Ninja Warriors again sequel was that it didn’t have two player!!! The arcade original had 2 player!!!
And by the looks I don’t think Taito is gonna follow the Final Fight Streetwise route and bring back Ninja Warriors Return Again!! as the third Sequel!
Though I’d love it if they did.
Man the sequel had no blood because of Nintendos blood policy. While the second one was better gameplay and graphics…the first one was darker, more hardcore…they cussed at you!!!
Yeah Alien torm was really cool, so cleverly executed as the sci-fi Golden Axe. Such a shame it never got a 32bit sequel ala G.A. Revenge of Death Adder. You even had the dash jumping supermove that di huge damage, just like in Golden Axe. I loved the SpaceGun type target shooting levels too. Such a cool game. I saw this movie called ‘Evolution’ a while back, the rapidly evolving creatures in it reminded me of the Alien storm enemies.
POW was a pretty huge game back in the day one of the classic pre-NeoGeo SNK titles.I always remember that opening sequence when your character blasts open his cell door. It was cool that you could pick up guns and use them, and the sound effects were awsome, especialy the punches and kick, they really reverberated around the arcade. I found the game super hard tho, like alot of those pre Final Fight games with the small sprites and ambigous hitboxes. How far could you get on a credit?
Crayfish.
The best word to describe the arcade original of The Ninja Warriors = PERFECT! As everything about the game was flawless. The control was pin-point accurate, the graphics and animation were and still are some of the Best ever, and the music? I have the soundtrack! :wgrin: Not to mention Taito named the Ninja Warriors hardware by the same name.
Any of you lot played Little Fighter 2? It was pretty good for a free game.
And Die Hard Arcade was wicked as well.
Yeah I totally agree Nebuloso…Ninja Warriors the arcade is my favorite beat-em-up of all time…by far…and yes I have the soundtrack too…it kicks some SERIOUS ASS!!! What sucks is on my MAME EMU the screen is SO DAMN SMALL…its like “WTF?”
Man yeah Moonwalker is good surely for a laugh…“OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW~!!!”
That shit is HILLARIOUS!!!
I havent played Little Fighter 2 but I have Die Hard Arcade.
Speaking of which has anyone played the Last Ninja revered series on Commodore 64 and Amiga?
I am a diehard Ninja Warriors (I still have the arcade cabinet at my grandmothers!!!) and Last Ninja fan…still am…I think Last Ninja 3 was and still is the best…awesome game…
It was made by System 3…a European company in the UK…so I’m suire some of you people in Europe have played it right? On the Last Ninja Archives they have been talking about a Last Ninja 4 game for like 5+ years now…still nothing heard yet…
Anyone know how to beat the very last boss in Die Hard Arcade? I hate him. Knife throws are so cheap.
Does anyone know the name of this 2D scrolling fighter, you play as one of 3 ninjas on the screen. It looked sick as you can use a ninja rope. If I remember correctly the first stage was set in a forest. Thats as much as I can remember of that game as it was a long time ago when I first saw it. I was like 8 at the time.
Nice, nice …^^
Btw, I had the Last Ninja for the old C64 too. Well there was also in the late 90’s some rumors about a new Last Ninja game and something else from the same COmpany called Vendetta. Both were planned for the PC … Anyone with more infos on this topic?
