Hey guys! Just letting everyone know that I am mad excited about the battle this weekend! I’m kinda looking more forward to this than the actual tournament itself! (kinda) But I just wanted to make sure with everyone beforehand, so we can avoid misunderstandings later, if there is any questions or confusions about the rules for the 5v5 battle.
It’s first to 2 team victories yadda yadda. Winners get their money doubled PLUS pre-paid copies of MvC3!

i guess norcal win this one, both team looks strong enough but i guess norcal has the upperhand, we see the outcome of this

If I had to make an excuse I think Socal got bad match-ups to the Norcal players on their side in both sets. But thats the way it goes.
well dont get mad at me but this are my conclusion on norcal success, well this is how i guess it go:
kbeast has great execution and nice read, along with a big knowlegde of the game so far.
gcyoshi is hands down the best gigant user, i have seen people struggle against his ptx, the way i see it, the mayority of the socal got shutdown by his ptx (thats my guess)
phampy has a great knowlegde on his team, which propably works in his favor againts the mayority of the players also his a great player
magnomanx is like the ll.nd of norcal smart and good reader, punish his way to victory, also like to apply ambiguous reset and tricky setups, just work on the advanced combo to get more beastly
i cant say anything on honor roll since i havent seen any match of him, so i leave norcal like that.
for socal
royalflush is there best player, good at reading, execution, smart on his setups and a solid main team
ll.nd his real power comes for his reading and good use of grab, very smart player, but he need to work on his team advanced combos to become a real theat
tronzilla, smart player, good punish ability, but need to work his blade, an need to capitalize on damege with blade, i have seen how he could have won a match by doing a big combo with blade but because of his execuation he lose, however his morrigan is the real threat in his team, but i guess he need to work more on blade to become a better player, having one beastly character is not enough both of them needs to be on point
truegamer, execution, read, an reset, truegamer real flaw is that he always go for reset, man you need to capitalize on damage, whenever your oponent doesnt have bar to crash, if not i say go for reset to make them use those bar, i just say you go way to much for reset combos.
big daddy chris, i have seen your matches and to be honest, you need to work that zero, no charge buster, no damage, your reset are solid, but man zero need to charge the buster at everytime not doing so reduce zero damage output badly, as for soki i dont have anything to say pretty good soki, but outside of that i think big daddy, is a good player, with nice read, and solid reset, but as i said, if you want to be at the top, you need to improve zero, cause i dont think zero is good without charge combo or swaps charge combos.
anyway thats my opinion on the players, and i think that norcal won cause of their players, not for matchups, dont get me wrong both norcal an socal have great players, i only base my opinion on numbers an how often each win base on the matches i seen so far, hope this doesnt start some kind of fight.
I’m going to just drop the whole thing before it even starts, I don’t want to start an argument over a scene as small as ours.
Here is my opinion why norcal wins the 5v5.
GCYoshi is like fire which can not be extinguished. I have seen gods tremble before the might of his PTX. He is the gigant of gigant players and no puny humans can stop him.
KBeast is the lightning which strikes before it can be seen or heard. His fingers move like a blur as his yatterman flies through the sky. His lightning combos strike with the precision of a surgeon and the strenght of a freight train.

The only fire tronzilla knows about is from a lighter. Stoner.
OK now I’m bored…
I’m going to leave out many details as to how the 5 vs. 5 escalated that day (the most important being within the hour of the thing starting), but Truegamer was the only SoCal player to win in the first set, then lost to Magno. In the second set, SoCal started to pick things up, with Big Daddy Chris and myself picking up the slack and leaving GcYoshi13 the only remaining player, but even we couldn’t take down his PTX in this 5 vs. 5 tournament or in the main tournament.
My highlight, however, was me imitating V.Joe’s level 3 super, (while landing it on Phampy), ending with me standing on the chair doing the MJ crotch grab.

I need to catch up on match videos. I couldn’t make it to the stream for the finals. Impressive that a giant player took the whole thing. I’m probably the only spectator in the world who’s really interested in seeing footage of that. 
Nice job on the showmanship, Flush. Hope you guys had fun.
First things first is Yoshi needs to pick up other characters or he can not compete in future tournaments since Giants are banned as of now. I can’t blame Yoshi for liking the character and wanting him to play but the fact is PTX is just too strong. I think Royal is now starting to see why Giants are dumb. Our chances of TvC surviving anymore after those finals is just dead now.
At the risk of derailing a thread or missing a joke, when did this happen?
When Fernando explained to me that the saw was overhead, the hop back thing was a low, the missiles were unblockable, and he had an auto-guard Baiken run, I was like “wow that character is retarded.” I seriously felt bad for royal flush watching him play in the 5v5 in the last match because he is such a smart player and I really don’t think there was much he could do against that shit. In fact I remember him saying something like “sorry guys, I did what I could” and the fact was he was right. He DID do what he could do against that fucked up PTX thing. I don’t know much about this game, but I seriously think that a character like ptx that’s just so drastically different and completely fucks over so many of the characters in the game is just wrong.
Shout outs to everybody I saw there. Kevin, Edward, and Fernando were all so kind despite how new and scrubby I am and made me feel welcomed. I really wish I did enter the tournament, but I just couldn’t afford it. I was really glad I was able to finally play against Kevin, but I also wish that I could’ve played against Edward and Phampy as well but there was just too much rotation haha.
seriusly PTX is solid, not even half as good as you think, you could say the missile unblockable is retarded, is not for that ptx would be totally garbage, there’s a lot of ways to get ptx meta game shutdown, in order to beat gigants you have to keep them at a distance or keep them blocking, you use blade an morrigan which is and excellent gigant killer team i really dont see how you can say ptx is just to strong went its clear it isnt, but anyway im looking forward to see the matches of the 5vs5
