I saw some of the video blogs and they made me feel positive.
I love how they nailed the apartments of scott/wallace and Steven Stills/Young Neil.
Young Neil is my favorite character. Dunno why, he never really says or does anything, and when he does, he’s a douche.
Trailer is up as is the pic for the 6th book.
I have to admit, after watching the trailer a few times, there are some parts that Cera seems to fit in the Pilgrim character. I’ll get a screenshot later, but there are looks that have him seem actually angry, rather than the comedically annoyed look he has for the past however many films he’s done. Alpha Counter with SFA3 announcing KO knocked my fucking sox off.

he seems less cera like butttt scott is a dick…and sarcastic. theirs just this part of scott that makes his personality seem to border on complete asshole. nothing about cera has ever made me feel that. buttt imma watch the trailer again for a third time now haha.
I just watched the trailer again for the third time…I think I’m on board the hype train for this movie now.
Still not sure if it works as a movie, but at least now it seems like it’d be really fun to see them try.

Hmmm, I am interested and will give it a chance. Anna Kendrick is in it and I think I have a supreme crush on her. So is Aubrey Plaza, another boner crush of mine.
And yeah, Clint aren’t you excited for 6 to be exactly like 5 and 4? I CAN’T WAIT FOR HTE ANGST. Egg/Katara as Roxanne Richter makes me laff. That is good casting.
So is Captain America/The Human Torch/Guy from Push as Lucas Lee.
Cap as Lucas Lee is a great choice, overall the casting in this movie is pretty solid aside from Cera. But I don’t really honestly know any cool and hip actors in that age range that I would be happy with playing Scott Pilgrim.
I guess we should all be lucky it’s not that dude from She’s Out Of My League or something at least. Plus I love everything Edgar Wright has done, so my faith is in him.
I feel bad that we constantly harp on Volume 5, when he’s already given us four prior great volumes…so dude is like batting .800, 4 for 5 with four home runs, and we still hate. But such is the nature of comic book nerdom, it’s all what have you done for me lately.
So I assume Volume 6 wraps up a ton of stuff? Otherwise will they actually spoil the story in the comics in a movie based off the comic? That would be crazy.
Volume 6 comes out before the movie. 6 is on July 20th, movie is August something.
The thing about 5 is that it wasn’t BAD, it just was the exact same as 4 which was weird because the story should have progressed past that point after 4. I believe we both agree about this.
The movie doesn’t have Lisa and takes a different swerve somewhere.

Volume 5 just bummed me out because we waited, what, like a year or whatever for it to come out and it was essentially the same story as Volume 4. Oh, they are having more problems, AGAIN. What was the whole thing with the LEVEL UP and the flaming sword in 4, then? Man, come on.
We are just nitpicking though, you’re right.
Man, who is Lisa again…? I need to maybe reread these books, all these generic white people names blend together after awhile.
I hope Mr. Chau is in the movie, who attacks this white devil who dates his Asian daughter. For some reason I feel like I can really relate to that character. Maybe they secretly casted Chow Yuen Fat for it…?
The wierdest thing is that all these girls are pining after scott and he really isn’t that great of a catch or charming. If you take a fine toothed comb to it, it doesn’t make much sense.
Lisa was the girl from high school that wasn’t Kim. Ramona was all nut hurt because she was around.
But our expectations were so high after 4 that 5 was a letdown. It should have been titled “Scott and Ramona Fight again”
a real relationship tends to be on repeat alot…especially wit fights.
