The girl that plays Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is pretty hot. She was fine as hell as Lucy McClane in Live Free or Die Hard.
Just saw the film. WOW! I loved it! I never even heard of the comics, and stuff but now I am going to get the books. I even bought the PS3 game. This was a lot of fun.
Playing 4 players at the same time with 4 different user accounts is buggy and confusing as fuck!
Also, the Power of Love Sword code doesnt work all the time it seems, or if u enter another code before it, it wont work. Gotta restart the PS3 and whatnot.
Maybe its just me?? Does anyone else experience these problems??
I just saw the movie. Its amazing! The directing and editing is absolutely perfect and it gave the geek in me a nerd boner that was 20ft wide.
Saw the movie and it was entertaining.
It’s basically the book at warp speed. This is an ADD generation movie for sure. It has all the weaknesses of the book, but strengths that come from being a movie.
Knives was hotly adorable.
Of course it was at warp speed. They had ~1100 pages to cover in 2 hours.
I wish they had fleshed out what Ramona did when she dated the twins other than Kim saying she dated them at the same time. The movie differed, but it’s not for the worse like other video game movies or something like The Last Airbender which has none of the charm that was in the series.
I hope Michael Cera gets noticed by other directors for his Scott Pilgrim role and isn’t always going to be forever type casted as “that socially awkward teenager” guy. Scott’s kind of socially awkward, but who isn’t in some degree? And he does grow out of it through the course of the books/movie. I’m sure Cera would love to do more roles that are more action based roles instead of his typical fare, but if nobody approaches him for those roles he can’t do them obviously.
Aw, there goes the admittedly farfetched theory that the tower was some kind of online lobby they were going to patch-in later. Gonna just have to wait on an official announcement.
God-damn Mr Chau’s random ass. I have yet to encounter him even once on the map.
As a big fan of the books before they got popular, I have to say, all this makes me really happy. I’m having to wait till tomorrow to see the movie but I just finished the game tonight and loved it. It was actually pretty hard in the later levels till I realized I could just go to the shop in the halloween party stage and max out my strength really cheaply with hamburgers. It kinda sucks that strength increases knockback because I had a nice infinite going with running dive kick falling jump kick dash jab x infinity. But once your dive kick launches them too far, it stops working lol. Actually, most of the combos are harder to do once you get your strength maxed out.
But yeah the final stretch was killer. I don’t wanna ruin it but I think Gideon may have reached doctor Wily status with all those forms.
Also I was kinda floored when I found out the guy from Mecha Fetus was doing the sprites for the game (note the closed “mecha fetus shop” in the first level). I’ve always liked his art / shit on youtube since I first saw it so it made me happy to see it in the game. Plus the music is absolutely amazing. Looking forward to playing this with my friend tomorrow.
btw how do you get to the stage at the bottom of the map?
Oh and… Mr. Chau assist is broke.
If you notice in the end credits before the regular staff roll style part, it mentions by name that most of mechafetus did the actual animation for the game too.
Their blog btw for those that don’t know them(some NSFW stuff): http://visublog.mechafetus.com/
So I guess it’s the “anti-ecchi” in me, but I honestly thought a lot of the stuff on there was wack. Some good use of color by some of the artists but the content of a lot of it is meh. Persona (one of the artists) has a really good use of line weight though.
Has anyone known or stumbled upon any sites/sources that has any of the music from this game??
The soundtrack for this game is beyond GDLK!
lol kinda funny since when the series started there were no such things as hipsters.
movie bombed 4th place
hopefully this will end michael ceras career and comic book movies in general
this weeks box office is really telling. it’s almost like a reflection of society
in first you have The Expendables. Real men doing real things
#2 is Eat, Prey, Love relating to all things women
#3 is The Other Guys; socially awkward but funny guys
#4 is Scott Pilgrim - a movie revolved about internet hipster douches who quotes obscure things and think it’s hilarious. Hey look at me I’m wearing a t shirt from Madonna’s tour in 1980s but please don’t label me because i’m an individual
just like in society. real men are on top.
I feel like Inigo Montoya when idiots keep throwing the “hipster” word around. “That word…I don’t think it means what you think it means…”
no doubt hipsters are independent deep thinkers
it is just a coincidence they all dress the same, all decide to only shop at thrift stores and listen to the same music
yo man i’m getting that liberal arts degree because i just want to learn and not end up working for the man.
and most of them share the same superiority complex as the people who made fun of them in high school. they’re all slaves to capitalism even though that’s all they complain about
How do the numbers work? Seeing as how it’s early Saturday at the moment.
I don’t really see Scott Pilgrim as hipster, more of a just a huge nerdfest. Nobody in the film tries to call “Where the Wild Things Are” deep or speak in that trendy bullshit like “Juno”.
Regardless of quality, a lot of comic book movies have been getting lower than expected box office. Kick-Ass, Whiteout, Losers, Jonah Hex, now Scott Pilgrim. Even Iron Man 2 performed worse than the first movie. But the studios will keep churning them out, hoping to find the next Batman or Spider-man, or even the next Hellboy or Blade.
they have multipliers based on historical trends. usually works out to the final results
but expendables already has 3.5x more money than scott pilgrim so shouldn’t be a problem
and i’m pretty sure michael cera is the hipster god so this is a hipster movie
juno
nick and nora
hipsters love all of those
it makes sense though, if the movie was shown only at art houses or thrift stores i bet it would of killed. but big movie theaters are capitalism man
