And I’ll use this as my segue into the conversation at hand. The Blood Code just made sense in my head and I ran with it is all. Thanks childhood, I still love you.
As far as the game is concerned, I’m loving the hell out of it. I’ve been doing so much research that I haven’t played much of it. But all that research has shown me that this is the Next-Gen River City Ransom. The only real difference is that Scott Pilgrim doesn’t have that behind the scenes convoluted math to figure out shit. I’m also loving how great the combat system is as well. Combos and juggles out the ass but there’s are some things that are outright broken. I’ll keep that information close until I perfect it a bit more. And the visuals of Paul Robertson and the music of Anamanaguchi are just a match made in heaven. I really hope this game opens doors for them because they deserve it.

I can’t wait to show what I can do with the game now but that’s gonna have to wait after I do more research and actually beat the game. Just enjoy a little taste of that the game has to offer you.
The game is great, but I don’t know how great it is from a non-fan point of a view.
Me and 2 other friends are playing the game and we are fans of the comic, pointing out every small thing we see. However, 3rd friend has yet to read the comic, and is just complete confused at everything happening. With that stated, it feels like he isn’t enjoying the game no where near as much as my other 2 friends.
The music is very nice.
It impresses me how good the songs can get from time to time. Just when I think I found “my song”, as I progress I find a better one.
The bosses are very well done in this game, but have a large jump in the difficult curve.
1st boss is basically a joke.
The 2nd boss isn’t anything special but hits hard.
3rd boss is very well made and just overall fun to fight.
4th boss is WTF OMG I GOT RAPED!!!
I have to say the combo system in the game is really fun, and you can pull of some crazy stuff when you get fully powered up. Also the video store I said is was def worth it, now I think its only sort of worth it, since you have to pay the fine with all your characters to behold the wonders. Still can’t figure out how to get the -1 level… I tried the jump thing over the bridge with Stills but I couldn’t get it, do people jump different heights? My next plan is to play two player have someone stand on top of trash while I uppercut it, and then have them try and jump on top of the bridge… I don’t know how well that will work but we shall see.
Edit: Forgot to mention for people who didn’t see it in the command list, Ramona can make random items by holding triangle for a bit and then releasing, pretty dope.
It’s only buggy if you run background downloads while you play.
Well, the game also has a TON of video game references…so maybe you could have the other friend look for those.
The Bosses aren’t that bad really. You can easily beat Lucas Lee (2nd boss) by just using Counter (tap O when blocking). Roxy (3rd boss) is annoying because she has the chain sword with ridiculous range. As long as you take a decent weapon into the bosses, then you will destroy them (baseball bat, sword, wrench, etc.) Of course, giant Kefka/Tyrant Gideon is difficult.
I’m not certain about the whole Hipster movement, but I enjoyed the books regardless. I would think that Scott Pilgrim is more Gamer Nerd than Hipster.
why did ubisoft not throw in a code that uses the konami code input, for a game from a series all about videogame references, you’d think it’d be in there
Yea been loving this gtame. My bro and me where gettin down half an hour ago. We had to redo most of the game cuz my Scotts like Max Level but no one else is and he wanted to play Stills. Even still shit was a lot of fun just power leveling an shit. Games the River City Ransom 2we never got. Really the only diferences mechanics wise is you get moves by leveing up through EXP and the games got levels instead of an open world. But other then that man games River City Ransom through and through which to me is great. I love RCR and having a neew one finally is just awesome lol. Been waiting so long lol.
Man, just beat it a little while ago… That final run is intense. I wondered if Gideon’s ass was ever gonna just die. And oh, the gaming shout-outs in this game are too awesome. I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t played through it yet, but if you’re an old-school gamer, you won’t miss them.
I’m going back through to see if I can run across Mr. Chau again-he wrecked me the first(and only time) I saw him.
I also noticed a couple of areas that were inaccessible on the map… maybe they will be available now that I’ve completed the story, or are there hidden paths through the stages other than the little warp zone shortcuts I wonder?
I just saw the movie. Fantastic! Other than the fights, it was close to the comic until after Roxy, then it got all wacky, but it did not deter the film from being enjoyable (twin battle had awesome music). I lol’d throughout the movie.
Just got back from watching the movie and it was fucking fantastic. I got teary eyed everytime I heard some zelda music. Now I need to read the comics.
