fuck these ppl. have fun with ur bullshit school lunches now…turning down fried chicken, watermelon, and cornbread…smh fuck off
My homegirl said she went to that high school.According to her that place fails at everything lol
Yes very reasonable expectations you have with that extravagant $2.50 per kid budget schools have.
You know not ALL chickens in the US are raised by the same ppl; there’s not a central US chicken factory lol.
There are places all over the country that raise chickens with proper feed and without synthetic hormones, and restaurants all over that only serve chicken that’s been raised that way.
I understand the perpetuation of the sterotype. But like…
If I was given fried chicken, watermelon, cornbread with some drank on the side? That would be an A+ 10/10 5* lunch. I’d go back for seconds.
Man now I want some Chicken, Watermelon and cornbread
I’m just throwing this classic out there:
"Early Scottish immigrants to the southern United States brought along a culinary tradition of frying in fats, this combined with West African culinary traditions in the islands of the Americas and combined with island-styles and spices, found their way into the breading and frying of chickens. Ultimately finding its way back to the United States through the slave trade, a new culinary tradition evolved among the slaves.
Chickens and Watermelons were inexpensive foods and (as others have pointed out) considered by many of those times to be uncouth; as such, they were made available to the slaves who (many might now say) perfected the art of the the fried-chicken.
So the day the chicken runs out in my home town I see the Scotts (armed with Claymore swords) joining Blacks, Russians, Mexicans and other assorted ethnicities in a Fast Food Riot.
so if there was a national beaners month. and they served tacos it woyld be racist now???

It’s in December. People generally just don’t care for it.
A couple of years ago for my black friends birthday we had chicken and waffles, watermelon and grape drink to wash it all down. Then we watched “The Mist” and I wanted to kill myself.
So…what kind of food do Black people in US eat for their culture?
Ox tails
Cornbread
Fried Okra
Fried Catfish
Buttermilk Cornbread
Collard Greens
Candied Yams
Sweet Potato Pie
'Black foods" and “southern comfort foods” are a blurred line.
White people LOVE fried chicken. White people love to eat all the same things as black people, the reason its offensive is that it implies that black folks are these bestial animals, I dont feel like digging up old papers, but the visual painted back in the day was a dumbfounded nigga with a chicken leg in his hand eating like a barbarian. That notion of animalistic behavior implied that blacks werent civilized. Same thing with watermelon.
Its not the food thats racist, its implying that black people love it that much more than white people, and that a celebration of black culture is reduced to fried chicken and watermelon, two foods that a lot of African Americans in the US statistically dont refer to as one of their favorite foods. For christmas and easter and lots of other holidays I’ve found that out of the dozens and dozens of dinner parties that I’ve been to, black people also enjoy roasted chicken, baked hams, ribs, turkey…etc etc. Fried chicken is difficult and uncouth to serve in a formal dinner setting, so yeah it kinda is racist to imply that blacks are always eating fried chicken. Thats like saying white people love pizza at wedding receptions. Black folks like nice things as well, this whole fried chicken thing is like a monkey we cant get off our back, white people love to bring it up and then we are back at square one.
Its a pretty complex issue.
And another thing, the media in the US has this affinity with sound bytes of blacks in low-income, crime infested neighborhoods. It just perpetuates the stereotype.
You have to understand that if and only if minimal needs are met like food, clothing and shelter, then can a person even begin to want to experience the other pleasures that life has to offer. And yet the media has this fixation of broadcasting the obvious close-minded perception of a select few inner city blacks which just goes on to reaffirm negative perceptions of blacks as a whole.
Chitlins is the worst culprit. Yet chitlins are surprisingly good w/hot sauce.
