It was the last member of Team Eternal Force Blizzard, Matsuda(Yun). Momochi pretty much went on a tear on that team when it was all up to him.
sugiyama should never be anchor. in fact, i think he should be off RX’s team. can you imagine if it was RX, Roshi and a beast akuma or a beast dudley? man that would be upper tier rape and a SBO win for sure.
definitely best 3s sbo i’ve ever seen.
i’m sad that sugi, rx, roshi lost since i was rooting for them. (so sick to see a non top tier team do well, roshi using sa3 too :lovin: ) i feel bad for KO too. can’t believe he didn’t win with boss and mov
but god damn was that semi final good. momochi yun is too insane. how was yun vs yun that fun to watch? and rx… wow. just wow. so clutch and i’ve never seen a urien play like that before, not even rx himself. too good.
i can’t believe how much more exciting it is to watch japanese 3s. high risk style is sick. and those guys seem to always be able to come back even if they have a just a sliver of life. god they try to parry way more then we do.
i agree
Nah…Sugiyama could have done it. He was just having a really bad day. There’s way too much footage of him destroying people in Japan to say otherwise. Even players like Nuki (who should pretty much guarantee free passes to top 4) weren’t necessarily doing as well as they normally do.
the pressure from that tournament must be insaaaaaaaane
results were totally unexpected imo
I thought KO, Boss, and MOV would win for sure.
Ah well, there’s always next year. of course that’s what I said last year. :\
thats cuz Nuki had to face RX!!! and RX can destroy ANYONE. RX so shoulduve been anchor in the finals. i think Roshi buckled under a bit under the pressure of goin last, Roshi shuduve gone 2nd, he may have done better against that mak. RX only lost to himself, he shoulduve thrown out that aegis near the end
wasn’t this the best that RX has done in any sbo? or tournement for that matter? lol
I, as well wanted RX, Sugiyama, and Roshi to take the SBO finals. I always want the lower tier characters to win, and these are the perfect guys for the job. Better luck next time guys, and good try EC.
it was all rom’s fucking fault.
misty is angry.
He won a couple of gvision ranbats in the past and also cooperation cup 5 so it’s not his best placing in a tournament
But still, I’ve never seen RX play that well (and that’s a big thing to say!)
anyways, RX is definitely the MVP of 3s sbo2007
runners up are Rikimaru and Momochi
i remember at one point seeing roshi step in to play the chun player and rx was like “nah, i want him.” they seemed to talk about it for a second. it looked like roshi was like “you sure?” and rx was like “fuck yeah, let me at him” and proceeded to rape chun like it was nothing more than a combo video as someone said earlier. you could see the confidence in his eyes, there was no way he was going to lose. and sure enough he pulled the win. brought a tear to my eye, for real.
that was hands down some of rx’s best work last night.
the way SBO has been handled(especially the live stream) has really given me the impression that these guys truly care about the games more than anything else… namely turning a profit, and the scene is flourishing because of it. hopefully the evo guys are collabing with sbo as much as possible and/or taking notes… if a tourney can get me hyped about 3s(and even tekken!), they must be doing something right.
Goro and Iori love I see. And Chris? Once again with the top tier love. Man there are a very good variety of characters and damn near 70% of the dudes there played Goro/Iori. I won’t complain though. Good Show.
Even though the guy who got 2nd place played a team of Mai/Mature/Chizuru.
What happend to the guy playing o.yashiro?

Lemme know if there are any errors and who the Niigata/Ikebukuro palyers/characters were.
Well, good showing in HSF by the US. 5th place on the road with that level of comp is nothing to sneeze at.
As for 98- Goro and Iori are the top 2 characters, but the difference between high tier and mid tier isn’t insurmountable in 98. Chizuru is upper-mid, Mai can do well vs Goro, Mature- I don’t know- but Mature isn’t awful in 98. (I don’t think there are any AWFUL characters in 98- the worst char in 98 is more competitive then your mid-tier in a Capcom game)
Also, at the absolute highest levels of skill, I think tiers mean a bit more then they do at lower levels- as the characters are known better, making small differences mean more. That said, a mid-tier team in 98 would have a shot at Iori/Goro/Chris, particularly if they countercharred right. (Character matchups mean more then tiers in 98, same as ST or any other good fighter)
