From what I understand, it’s a really huge sum of money. This is extremely important, since pretty much all their other tournaments don’t give out cash prizes due to their thinking that how we do tournaments is similar to gambling, but SBO is a corporate sponsored event.

I recorded via camera phone (deliberately, since the quality is shit and as such it can only be construed as a teaser) the final round of 3S Grand Finals (Yun vs Makoto) - if it’s OK to share that (I’ll trust anybody from Japan or TGA on that), I’ll put it up. shrug

Did anyone get any footage of non top-8 matches in any game? I’m sure that top 8 is in the DVD’s, I want to see other matches though.

Not that I’m aware of - we were told that it was probably OK to tape crowd reactions and that kind of thing, but that taping matches was not OK.

It certainly looked like the SBO people had the ability to record every match - I don’t know what they actually recorded nor what would be on the DVD, but I believe that that is your only possible source for anything at all. I know for a fact that I was with everyone but Phi when the two USA teams played, and nobody was taping then. I beeeeelieve Phi and Gavin brought their video cameras (I only brought my camera phone) that day - I don’t know what they recorded, if anything, and strongly suspect (since they were generally next to me) that they didn’t record anything other than what the SBO wrestling arena looked like. FWIW- I’m only speaking to Day 2 - I don’t know about Day 1.

Also: Tom, I stupidly have your cell phone charger. Please PM me (I don’t recall your SRK name) and I’ll get it to you ASAP. Sorry!!! :sad:

Well, I know at the previous SBO’s, some Chinese cats had video footage of the tournies from the audience, which they recorded from the big screens. That may be the only route if it’s not on the DVD’s. I don’t know if they got stricter this year on allowing cameras or whatever. But like they said don’t underestimate the power of China :lol:

1. ok no excuses but stop hating, okinawan chun was a beast(the chun that took us out, happens to be the chun that took out KO’s team at another event). keeper was a beast, anyone who played him can tell you how sharp he is.

2. everyone speaks easily hiding behind a screen, half of you don t even attend tournies outside your state, so please use your chin up pose somewhere else. the pressure is enormous. get your head out your ass.

3. about my match, since when do you get credit for playing long? we lost the rock-paper-scissors, they got to see our team order and made a smart choice. i stuck with the original plan but their chun was tough as nails, no excuse.
   niggas be acting like making a match last 8743589745 years is hard or something, fuck the foreplay, lets get to the point.

4. the trip was a learning experience. i was LUCKY if i got 5 hours of 3s in me on any day, i had 25 hours of sleep between the 9 days, there was alot of shit to do.

5. i lost, please understand the guilt i feel towards everyone. live and learn.

I’m trying to be as sincere as possible but please stop playing the victim. Please link to where someone was hating on you guys specifically. And where they in anyway imply that they could have done better than you guys did.

That being said, its hella hard and even making it that far is a job well done. Congrats man. I’m looking forward to hearing more about stuff that happened there.
