Tougeki at the Tokyo Game Show? can you say 2 for 1? plus id get some AMAZING footage for Youtube…now I have to play extra hard!
and Jason: you seriously underestimate the power of my youtube following. the ST practice vids i’ve posted up have gotten 5k-15k views EACH. and my fans have been asking for me to do a live stream for over a year…if the SBO quals are the first time this happens, expect to get thousands (yes thousands) of viewers for old school ST.
DSP: I think we’ll be lucky to have 200 people on the stream at once, LOL, we’ll see.
I hope the event is gonna be streamed, it would be great
I thought I’d ask, what is the policy on camcorders for this event? Just so I (or anyone else) doesn’t get in trouble for bringing it and not knowing that I couldn’t. I don’t want to be THAT guy…
I believe this is MeltyBlood: Actress Again. Current code might mean current version, since they update the game almost as much as Virtua Fighter 5.
Also, if I’m not mistaken, you can run 2 streams off of one FME instance. There would be an issue of bandwidth usage though.
Just want to give thanks to Jason for taking responsibility for the qualifiers, it’s nice to see that ST still has some strong love from all over the US. See you guys in TN!
Might be here, might not. It’s out of my hands. But I’m glad this is finally happening in the midwest (and by midwest I mean southeast, but is still the closest to midwest an SBO qualifier has ever been, I do believe), and I fully support it.
As for the converter rule, I’m fine with it as long as it is a Japanese stick, preferably Sanwa (but square gate is a must), along with the traditional Japanese style 6 button layout (convex buttons). These are the conditions that are going to be present at SBO, and I think we should attempt to emulate them as much as possible to see who has the best chance at winning under said conditions. If it’s not possible, it’s not possible, but I think that it is an ideal philosophy to follow.
My $2 (inflation), for whatever it’s worth (certainly less than $2).
blinky: no problems with camcorders…
how often do you guys hold tournaments up there
Every couple of weeks but this is going to be the biggest one in terms of names and players from out of state TN has ever had…
Quick note to anyone coming for the tournament, the actual tournament is NOT at the arcade but on the second floor inside the mall ACROSS from Nails Pro in space #2151 (look at mall map if you get lost on the directory). You CAN go to the arcade and ask how to get to this part of the mall. From the escalators PAST the food court FROM the arcade, make a RIGHT and the tournament will be 3-4 stores down on the right. You’ll see and hear it= P All the arcade machines and console setups for the tournament games will be here.
Well man i want be able to make this one but its good to know that you guys host one every other week so expect to see me soon
Going to post up a hype video on Youtube tomorrow, hopefully it will blow this shit up.
By the way…who is doing the streaming? Send me a link to your stream ASAP and I’ll put in a Youtube video so that we can get that shit poppin on Saturday. Or else come see me in person and we’ll take care of it. I’m arriving Thursday but will be in the arcade all day Friday practicing.
Good shit Phil Good shit we need the MAXIMUM HYPE FOR THIS !!!
I will be there. hope there is some high level play there.
So, meaning, the winners all get to go to Japan and play in the tournament WHILE being able to attend TGS 2010 at the same time? What a deal. I myself won’t attend, because I’m too accustomed to HD Remix to really play, we don’t have a regular SSFIIT arcade cabinet or any version of it at all, so I don’t want to go and embarass myself. It would cost me far too much anyway, Jacksonville to Nashville is a long trip, and I’m only local player, I can’t just drive down there either, gas is expensive. But I’ll be watching, and the fact that I’m not going is just less dead weight for you to bare, and it’s not like I would’ve won anyway. cough
^Are you an HDR Honda scrub or something?
ZING! Just kidding, folks.
I’m an HDR Bison scrub. I use Bison in every Street Fighter game I play, and I have a tournament winning SSFIV Bison where I live, but only in SSFIV, I was awful when I first got SFIV because I was still getting adapted =P.
