SBO Results Thread

too many armchair warriors in here man.

Like Koop said congrats to the US players on making it that far, don’t sweat it we’ll get at them next year and try again. just keep training and we’ll see what will happen next year

if Daigo wants to play Kof 12 or blazblue, he will be very good at it too after few months. maybe not the best, but will very good.

who gives a fuck? he lost, people luv him, people diss him, its the inernet. get a life.

Are Umezono (BI) / Uryo (VI) still in it???

It’s already over.

It’s a difference in culture. In the states and elsewhere being a jack of all trades is seen as a good thing. In Japan, it is important to do one thing exceptionally well. The general thought being, where you are strong, you should seek to become stronger.

oogosho will make you sweat (couldnt resist), kick you ass and send you home next year. after that he will teach you kof.

and by we you mean you and your boyfriend (where you even @ sbo?lol). i luv it how people say we when theres one half chinese half american kid who plays to win his own money, but its “we” like you the on on his team or got something to do with it. morons.

You guys just don’t know. Marn and Jwong weren’t playing full power, they lost on purpose, they didn’t want to embarrass the Japanese on their home soil.

It’s part of a much larger metagame, making the Japanese over confident and coming over to America, only to be beaten and destroyed like furniture.

Just you wait.

For every armchair warrior there will be someone who uses the weak defense, “You couldn’t do any better!” True, I couldn’t, most people can’t, doesn’t alter the fact that they lost.

I’m not calling anyone out, just pointing out that the people who put on their tough-guy face and shout “You couldn’t do any better,” makes you look like a tool and is a last ditch effort to keep a fragile ego in tact in the face of mass criticism. It doesn’t change anything, you still lost, making fun of a host of nobody’s isn’t going to make that whole situation disappear.

It’s not hard to keep your cool. In fact, it’s right around the level of effortless.

Props to those that made it into SBO and good luck next year.

Best example of randomness or inconsistency in the SBO format is koreans losing first round in tekken in just about every year, including the year Qudans came over and lost, yet all of the Japanese players including one of the players that actually won SBO the same year, admitted he was the best in the world.

The same year he beat Mainstreet Ryu and Shou in card battles and became Tekken Lord status.

Wow shut up. I’m not gonna bag on you cause you probably feel like shit right now, after SBO. But really, your comment makes you look like an arrogant douche. We all know you can beat us, happy?

On a different note, good shit to Team K.O.F.

for next year’s SF4 in evo, they can make it 1 game single elimination. So we can random out Japanese players. I still remember, Daigo lost to a Chun on his first game on day 2.

Gaaaaaaaaaaad-damn.

I want a documentary on THAT.

Salaryman at day, Pringles vendor at night. That’s what I’m talking about…

**
Damn man.

hands marn a Reese’s**

anyone know what’s Daigo’s job(s)?

I just don’t understand how married men like Daigo get away with it. They work 9 hour shifts, then play street fighter for 6 hours. By the time they get home it would be time to just eat and got to sleep for 9 hours to repeat the process.

that player wasn’t american, but rather, the best Hong Kong SF4 Chun

Everyone plays to win something for themselves no matter what even in team sports its always about something for you, you play for money, you play for your pride, whatever but you rep both you and your country. As far as I’m concerned, Justin is out for himself but he also represents the US Street Fighter crowd so he is part of our community so we have every damn right to say “we” if we want to. And don’t start bringing in someones Ethnicity, just because hes half chinese in ethnicity, doesn’t mean he isn’t 100% American, fool. And plus, who the do you think is funding Justin to do all this? The man takes my money every tournament i’ve ever entered and hes in it!

counterpicking is the least of our issues in trying to get US players to improve our game. They dont counterpick over there because THEY DONT HAVE TO

everything from maintenance on their arcade controls to the available high level comp is leagues above ours. You could run with a low tier character over there and learn to fight any top tier character because you have opportunity to level up with the best of any character.

Its saturated with talent over there. and even though they run shit we got players over here that can hang with their best in multiple games. we are doing pretty good especially seeing how spread out we are imho.

@Drake- Pringles vendor???. too good :rofl::rofl:

i know he is Chinese, i know Daigo won.
But if the rule is 1 game single elimination, it would be different.
