SBO makes like no profit off of anything other than the DVD’s (due to Japan’s strict rules about making money off of competitive events…no money matches, no large prizes for winners stuff like that) so they depend on the DVD’s for sales. Meaning streams and generally being all over the web is bad business for SBO overall. They only did a live stream 2 years ago (a very high quality stream) to promote SBO. Which I’m sure killed their DVD sales for that year specifically.
Might as well stop wishing. They do play online but their connection with anyone outside of Japan has to be terrible and you wouldn’t learn anything from it even if you were to play them. I think I saw Mago’s gamertag on a youtube video once but don’t remember what it was. Either way Mago would be playing nowhere near his full potential with the inevitable lag and would just be guessing and BSing his way through the matches. Your post kinda reminds me of the people who will challenge anyone in championship mode even if the connection is only one bar just because they want to play a good player. Just ain’t worth it.
