Can someone please tell me what happened to Tetsu and TKD, the Fuerte players? I find it hard to believe that neither one of them managed to qualify, unless they didn’t participate to begin with. Do they still have a chance at the last chance bracket? Do they plan to participate?
Uryo is just sick. He is one of Japan’s best period. I think he’d be doing just as well if he used another solid character but I can tell he has a passion for Viper. He is the ultimate slack picker upper.
Heh…I so wish this was getting streamed so we could March Madness style brackets and see whose brackets are the most accurate. I guarantee anyone with Dashio or Uryo’s team in their top 8 are incorrect. Paypal money should go out to anyone with a perfect top 8 bracket posted and not edited right before SBO starts.
Who according to loldotcom is just Uryo’s excuse to enter the tournament. “Yeah my boy here Umezono he plays Bison and Bison can psycho crusher and stuff…might be a nice addition to help me with the OCV’s I’m going to perform.”
Honestly a lack of Bison players is like the least surprising thing for me. I mean it’s Bison. He doesn’t have anything unique or abusive that other characters don’t have. To me he’s not much more than a boxer that can’t combo into his ultra and can cross up. That’s cute but there’s other characters that can do most of what Bison can do and do it better. Bison can do a lot of things but none of them he does extremely well IMO. He’s just ok in most areas and doesn’t really have any shenanigans or unique overpowering FADC BS. Once you know how to fight Bison it’s just a matter of if the Bison player will be able to poke you and cross you up 300 times FTW since his damage is so low.
Japanese are just seeing what I’m seeing I assume. Why pick a character that doesn’t play much different and doesn’t really have more to offer strategically than other characters higher up on the tier list?
A match yeah. I like team J.Wong for busting top 8 but other than that…not looking good for US IMO. I don’t like us for the first year in Japan’s Fighting Game Bowl especially not with their random ass one match format. Only the teams that are destined to take top 2 or 3 (whichever team has Mago, Daigo or Uryo on it…well I like Uryo okay!) has any real inclination as far as taking the event. Any other team is going to have to pray that they random beast teams out. Which isn’t too farfetched considering every team there is pretty much a beast team. There’s just the super beasts that all the other beasts have to worry about.
