Some like american.
Whenever i got to tournys anymore i see 80+% of people using japanese parts. (Only in Marvel do i see like 80% american sticks).
For me, i just dont care anymore. If i win i win, lose i lose, im just tired of all this arguing about this stick > that. The thing about last year is that it wasnt the sticks, it was the cabinets.

this is whats good about the old arcade generation, we had to be fluent on many sticks. i see that advantage is lost in the new school =(
Arcade sticks are fucking stupid…props to the ones that are talented enough to use them appropriately.
Now I see why this tournament has changed to SBO featured, because SBO is an arcade only tournament. So the tought about console games becomes less and less. And I can pretty much guarantee that if every game at this tournament had an available cabinet, NOTHING would be console…gee let’s all play SSBB on a fucking stick…:woot:

And DarkGeese: Were u still planing on running SNK tournaments, cause I could have sworn DreamTR said that wasn’t going to happen…but if Arcana is ran…then I dunno…(and no one even fucking try to go there and say…“Oh Webster is trying to hate on Arcana!!!” because that isn’t the case…since I expect Arcana to be a main attraction to the tournament…for any tournament…anyways)!

Why the hate? Every year you get your tekken tournaments, most of your KOF and other SNK game tournaments, even Doujin tournaments. Yet 1 offical EX3 tournament in the 8-9 years since its been out is suddenly too much?
I’ve asked for this year in and year out and I finally get it so leave it be. It probably won’t be there again next year unless through some miracle occurs and it suddenly becomes a mainstream game and gets over 90 entrants.
I already talked to DreamTR and Dark Geese (aside from our brief convo in this thread) about what to do regarding this SNK/Arcana/Melty tourneys given the resources we have. its in the works. and when we get the final go ahead from DreamTR regarding this well let you know.
also might have a surprise for arcade/Arcana fans 
but again it depends if all the pieces fall in place. GET HYPE!!!
Shinji, I’m sure if I’m there I wouldn’t mind playing EX3 as well…it’s looking more and more likely I’ll be attending this. I haven’t been to MWC in years.

DreamTR quick question, I would like to record all of the matches for EX3 but I’m not sure how many TVs its gonna take. Depending on the number of entrants 1 TV might be enough though the more the faster it’ll go so you can get to the 3s tournament ASAP. So a rough estimate would be nice so I know how many VCRs that I’d have to purchase.

That’s a very good point because SBO AE quals last year were on American cabinets at Family Fun. Most of the OGS that play this game prefer American sticks, and I recall this being an option in Japan more than once when Team USA went there for this game. So again, brings me to my point that in order to get the BEST arcade player for each game, American cabinets are still crucial, because from what I know, the top players in the USA that do play these games are arcade players on American sticks. We basically need interchangeable control panels to make everyone happy. Who wants to build them? =)
The only MK machine they have there is 4.
US reps in Japan will have the choice to use US or Japan sticks. However, keep in mind that the entire team will have to commit to 1 style, they will not exchange out panels and sticks mid match. So for ST, if we send a team of Graham and Alex, Graham can’t choose US stick while Alex chooses Japan stick.
Additional rules for this year’s SBO, ST will be on Turbo 3, Akuma is officially banned.
For 3S, Ken’s neutral throw vs Makoto to glitch and turn off the game is officially banned.

Is that Japanese Turbo 3 at SBO? What speed do we use for US quals? US Turbo 3 or Turbo 2?
