In all seriousness though I think we can all agree that fei is at the very least not the best character in the game. I can concede that he is A tier and have no problem admitting he is"1 of the better characters in the game"but I will certainly deny the charge of him being a top tier or"the"best.

Tier list says Fei is top tier. Maybe you’re color blind or something, but all those differentiating colors is grouping characters into tiers. While those characters are 2/3 matchup points better than Fei they are all the same tier.

While they are all the same color we should note 3 points stand between seth and fei so fei could be a top tier but not"the"top tier which is the point I’ve been arguing for the last 2 pages. In fact in AE he was ranked 3rd but still was never the best character in the game, and in super he was like top 10 or something. Therefore my entire point these last 2 pages has been to prove that fei long is not the best character in the game and that he is not technically at the tip of the character roster. He might hover outside it and in AE was apart of the true top tiers, but in 2012 he is nearly between"A"and"S"rank so I feel considering him in the same breath as seth and viper is inaccurate.
I think fei is like ryu in SF2 in the sense that he has enough good tools to compete but not enough tools to truly dominate and rule the roster. We also have to take into account that a lot of his bad matches have been nerfed with every iteration. Therefor his true strength in the SF4 series has just been consistently due to him escaping capcoms tendency to over nerf characters from update to update. In the super roster he played virtually the same and most agreed he was only top 10 at best. Against the top tiers in SF4 I doubt he could beat old sagat or any of the other top tiers in that game, which is why I consider him a weak top tier. His only real strength comes from the fact that the cast is by large very weak but compared to a cast like say super or SF4 he isn’t anything to brag about it.
Edit: In the 2010 eventhubs tier list for super, fei was ranked 14th overall. His 2012 self is basically the same as it was in super so we really have to ask ourselves why he had a sudden jump in the tiers…its because the rest of the cast got weaker while he remained consistent.
Nobody ever said he was the absolute best character, only that he was top tier. You have spent the last two pages attempting to deny this fact with a pathetic barrage of lies and nonsense. And yes being in the same tier as another character affords you to be mentioned with them, it the ENTIRE FUCKING POINT OF TIERS.

I don’t get why sagat,rufus and rog were considered the same color especially since they were only 5 points away from seth, which is basically nothing in the scheme of things.
Why does it even matter? If you are going to accept the matchup numbers as gospel then you also have to accept the tiers. I’m sure you have zero understanding of why those matches play out the way they do but that didn’t stop you from accepting the list.
Everyone else seems to accept eventhubs list, I figured why not. I’ve played against enough honda,bison,guiles and sim to know they arent easy matches for fei…even akuma is arguably a bad match for fei if played perfectly.

At any rate I’m down for some HDR sets online and maybe I’ll look into getting 2DF SF2. I love that fei is a low tier in that game…ultimate moral victory heh.
