Saskatchewan Thread 2011

I was being sincere until you started running that giant mouth of yours. I’m sincere in telling you that you’re a good player, but I’m also sincere in saying I take cash only

and honestly man I meant everything I said before and it’s good you guys are organizing and stuff but you gotta drop that attitude. we come in here “out of nowhere” because you do well for like 2 weeks then you wanna lash out at the world and this happens

i wish nothing but the best for you and your scene and I just wanna play you for some cashola

Its one thing to have a opinion and be vocal about it, but its quite another to be hostile and disrespectful with it. I dont mind a open discussion about most things but Im not the type to take insults quietly especially if they are unprovoked. If that wasnt your intention then fine, im dropping it now because CC2 is in a few weeks and I want to enjoy my time there and fight and socialize with the community.

Jared,Losha,Josh,Evan: So we had out 1st trial event at jays place on friday and we had 4 guys show up. Like I mentioned before jay has agreed to host and he will try and host every 2nd friday if possible. He will let us know on every wed if he can do it or not so if you guys are serious about doing gatherings and "rebooting the scene"I suggest coming out for the events. If we all manage to make it out consistently that’s over 5+ players we can build the community on and that isnt even counting dustin, chao or the other players we missing in action. Let us know your thoughts?

Top 8?? Bro, If you make it out of pools at CC2011, it will be an absolute miracle.

These will probably be the toughest pools you will ever compete in (unless you go to Japan someday), and I feel that I can say that with absolute certainty.

I actually hope you do well at the event, and I’m not trying to rain on your parade or shit on your leet skillz or anything, I’m more just telling you how it’s going to be… and man, it’s going to be rough dude. Top 8? Jesus Christ… at least your optimistic!

Alright, Rik, well I’ll try and make it out to the next one.

Jared: sounds good man I’ll announce events on this thread to let you guys know what’s up.

Nos: I agree for sure, it’s gonna be extremely difficult for any Canadian player to deal with the sheer volume of killers coming this year. I think it’s gonna depend greatly on the luck of the brackets and catching some of those guys on a bad day lol. I just gotta stay positive and hope I can do some damage at the event.

I look forward to Jayson not inviting us.

FYI y’all!

Evan: Jay brought over darcius and jeremie and he wanted to bring you over, this community is open to everyone so stop by whenever you want,…unless your a CHICKEN!

Nos: That CC2 trailer is look very hype and holy fuck…the amount of international killers is insane. I think every canadian player especially us on the west coast will have a hard time moving in the brackets but at the very least its a learning experience. In this situation it isnt so much about winning but about learning as much as you can from the loses.

Also who do you think should be on the 5 man team for canada?

I’d go to CC if I could hitch a ride, but where can I fight you guys in Stoon?
There are regular meetups?!

There… Might … Be regular meets up… I… I don’t know, honestly. I don’t know why I’m responding, but if only to say: T. Hawk with sunglasses is awesome.

Also, I didn’t realize just how many killers were actually going to the CC. Going to be rough to get out of pools even, it seems.

Whoever wins the qualifiers.

Nobody except for maybe Air deserves to be on that team by name alone. And even then he should participate in qualifiers because let’s be honest he would win a qualifier anyway.

I was going to drive but im actually just flying I think. I cant afford to miss school on monday so Ill have to get back ASAP, however if I wasnt flying I woudl have easily offered you a ride.

Anyways as far as meetings go we are doing it again. Toon town fights is back and last week we had our 1st trial run. We had 4 people show up and we agreed to all come again, this time were giving people a few days notice to let us know if they can come or not. The dude who is hosting is jay. His space is pretty good for the most part and he can always adapt his space for more players if need be. Thats why we need to know who is coming in advance by at least 2 days because jay has to set up and get things prepared so that we can all be housed. The event is happening this friday and he’ll let us know what time so if you wanna come or if anyone is interested then plz let us know so that he can set up. Also were thinking every friday is probably when the meetings will happen so it should be easy to schedule around, were not sure if its gonna be weekly or bi-weekly but I guess it depends on how things go. Right now our goal is to at least get 10 people coming out consistently so that business can finally pick up, so far we have the following players on board:

Rick
Jay
Darcius
Jeremie

The next players are ones whom have said they were interested but have yet to come out:

Jared
Losha
Josh
Evan

We also have dustin and chao who frequented back in the old toon town fights but no one has heard from them in months so were assuming they have either moved away or quit playing. We still have a potential player base of 8 though but we could always use more so I hope you can make it out malk and the same goes to anyone else who lurks this thread.

I agree shane except if air fights me in the brackets haha.

Although personally I think that if anyone should be on the team just based of experience agaisnt high level opponents it should be the MLT and toronto guys. West coast canada has sadly not had much exposure to high level competition and in the few events were we have had top players in our community we got raped pretty freely. EC has put up a better fight with the tournaments they have hosted with top players present so I think the most logical choice would be to have them represent canada on the 5 man team.

What time on fridays?
If it’s later in the evening unfortunately I’ll be busy, and this friday specifically I’ll be sort of outta town all day.
How much is your flight? If it’s a cheap round trip I could fly too. Westjet? I’m looking at $300 prices atm =\

Experience looks good on a resume but doesn’t mean that much in the competitive field. The best player today could be the worst tomorrow, that’s why players always have to keep proving themselves.

It depends on jay, last friday he was free all day so he’ll have to let us know what time he expects. I personally think a 5-10pm time slot is most desirable cause I usually go out with people around that time and I think most people probably have something to do on a friday night. I didnt check the flight yet, canada cup has some discount prices that i think are mentioned on the official site so it probably is in a reasonable range I think. Im just glad I dont have to pay for hotels this time, I get to stay with a ex who lives 5 minutes away from the venue lol.

Very true, but I think the EC community is built more like a tournament community compared to the rest of canada. Like dont get m wrong I think BC has strong players who could make a impact, but I think going by past experiences can help a lot in giving canada a good image in the team battle. We need to have people who can handle top players and not just be on the side of the corner blocking till they eventually crack lol. I dont like selling WC short, but I just dont think we have enough strong players outside the top 5 in BC who are good enough to give top players a good fight.

Can you PM me the addess or post it here if it’s public?
If it’s not too far I could probably stay for half and hour or a bit longer depending on the times.

Also there was a saskatoon SF community forum that I joined earlier but with this new PC, I lost the bookmark, do you happen to know it?
I think it was called toon town brawl or something like that.

Yeah it was called toon town fights but the site is offline. The host of that community moved away so the commnity was disbanded during the summer. For that time it was assumed the sask community was completely finished but luckily we just recently started to organize again and pick up were the old one left off. The gatherings were doing now are a attempt to build on the numbers and get the interest flowing again. Once the goal of 10 is reached I think we can get on some solid ground in building a very competitive and strong group of players, even having a tournament and ranking event every so often.

Ill pm you the info 2morro as I dont have it on me now, its back in my place I think. Not to mention I gotta get to bed cause I assumed sneaking into the kitchen would be more quiet but it seems like my typing is causing a echo that is annoying her so I gotta split for now.

got my first money match setup for canada cup. ft5 for 36$? vs scrub saibot (won the last tourney in edmonton) in the lab and ready to get dat money.
