Saskatchewan Thread 2011

^I lol’d. Also, truth.

First off Merlin I’m convinced you have not bother to even read a single thing I’ve said because your going over points that I’ve never said. For starters I’m not basing my too player status on beating the guys locally because like I’ve said the scene here is free. Secondly I always viewed my sets against top players online as just training. Those sets helped me best guys like air and Ross and hold my own against the other top players, I never saw them as anything more then training. as for thr whole king of sask thing, lmao is pretty much all I have to say.

Ok Ric, I want you to explain to all of us what makes you more than just a mid grade local joker.

Please give us all a detailed explaination about what makes you a top player on the same level as top 8 evo placers. Please let us know which major tournaments you’ve placed in outside of the prairies.

I don’t need to explain anything to anyone here lol…like honesty why would I need to. For starters the community is underdeveloped and the majority of the players don’t post or keep up with the community, and the few that do are bad players or afflicted with some sort of disease/illness that manifest into these worthless troll post…there is a reason so many people here are on meds lol.

Furthermore I never claimed to be on the same level as Wong or daigo, i simply stated that I am a top player. I’m the top player locally and one of the top players regionally and that’s enough to establish the status of"top player". I clearly don’t have major titles under my belt because I’m not at the same geographic advantage as Wong or diago and don’t live anywhere close to the best comp in NA/the world. However that still doesn’t mean i cant be considered a top player since guys like Jamie or JS master don’t top at evo or major tournies in the states either, but they are still considered top players due to the reputation they have in there scene and there performance against well known players. The same applies with me, because regardless of what anyone wants to think you cant fluke out a victory against ross or air consecutively and consistently impress well known high level players…the kind that top at majors. It’s as simple as that:)

Sorry Rik, you’re not a top player. Top players are determined by a legacy or history of being near the top, ie:tournies and really, major tournies. You haven’t established that yet, and a few money matches don’t make up for that lack of tourney placement. While you may be the top player in your scene and are a good player overall, like most of us in Canada “top player” status will elude you/us/most of the Canadian SF4 scene until one of us begins to place well in US/Japanese/International Majors.

Canada Cup (Nov 2010)

JS Master = 3rd Place, top placement of North American players.

Ricky Faguilera = Some bum in a denim jacket who’s tournament highlight consisted of him being on stream staring down at his controller.

Seems pretty even to me breh. All hail top player Ricardo!

Good thing I always got tickets to those places just lying around heh, but hey its to bad you guys arent coming to marvel madness…you guys are doing a tourny the same week?

That’s unfortunate, but part of proving you’re a top player generally requires one to travel to Major tournies and do well in them.

We have March 2 Battle that weekend. There really is little incentive to travel to Calgary for a tourney unless you are already close. Hence it’s unlikely you will see players from Winnipeg there unless they do another CC.

Yeah like it’s not a issue for me to afford the trips but just getting the time off to attend them, not to mention all of the out of pocket expenses start to add up after awhile and unless I get a sponsorship it’s just not worth it lol.

That’s a shame though, I personally wanted to see a 5v5 between peg and calgary…would be a very interesting fight!

Can the Saskatchewan people actually have their own thread? You know, where it’s not Rik posting about how he thinks he is so awesome. Or someone just make a regina thread.

You guys have TTF’s, and only a small number of people from Sask post anyways so ssomeone has to keep the thread active.

Hey Ric, I don’t know if you have been getting my messages on Facebook about posting pics of your Christmas haul so could you post some here?

P.S. Norman is the pound 4 pound best fighting game player in Sask.

Fixed because you are unaware of the insanity of Darcius.

No I am not.

Rik is a very good player no doubt. Top player? No, for the exact reasons ShinAkuma stated imo.

Give Mvc3 time ppl the game has been out for 2 weeks.

I’ll prove ya all wrong!!!

seriously though I was playing some MVC3 with a few friends and I had a lot of fun. I think If I just see it as a party game as opposed to a competitive tourny game I’ll enjoy it a lot more.

Man were back on trollin mvc again. I’ll bite, ric why is it only a party game… can we get some reasons involving gameplay besides, “its easy to do shit”

Party games are easy to get into, flashy and most importantly fun. MVC3 fits that mold perfectly, in fact MVC3 is like a capcom style smash brothers IMO.

I said gameplay reasons besides easy to get into (love that to cause SF4 was desighned for that to and hdr) So what Guilty gear is flashy and i dare you to call that a party game, and every fighting game should be fun. like i said, gameplay reasons besides its easy to get into.

josh, you just put “easy to get into” and “guilty gear” in the same comparison

what is wrong with you

welcome to picking up gg

SF4 and HDR don’t have the flash of MVC3 though, like thats why I compared MVC3 more to smash brothers. I think if you put MVC3,SF4 and HDR into a full room of people then MVC3 would have a better chance of becoming the more popular choice.
