Chun Li wins with spacing, footsies and controlling space…it isn’t just 1 combo and a instant win. Like games like XVSF or KOF96 have a large number of the roster viable but its because most of the characters have lame BS they can abuse. In 3s or even SF4 you still have to rely on player ability to make these characters play to there full potential and for the most part the better player will always still win.
Althouh while I do hate MVC3 I do really appreciate the visuals and its pace, which makes the characters move with a fluid motion that I never got with SF4. If only we could have a game with the visuals and mobility of MVC3 and the mechanics of SF4…now that would be one amazing game.
First off merlin, so far the only thing I agree with you on is that the only people who should be involved in this discussion are the ones who play these games. With that said since I’m a top player my opinion instantly means a lot more, in fact its really the only one that matters out of everyone here. Therefore when a new game is released I’m gonna have a lot to say on it, and clearly MVC3 is no exception. On that note I’m detecting a bit of bias from you over this game since you 're probably one of the better players in the province for MVC3…you’re not as defensive over any other games which leads me to think that your judgment isn’t quite clear.
Now you can come on here giving me walls of text about the ?depth?of MVC3 but at the end of the day it just boils down to a lucky launcher into a near 100% combo. Granted most VS games are like this (hence why i avoid them) but at least with previous installments it wasn’t as insultingly accessible…and the accessibility is precisely my point of contention. It’s ?fighting games for dummies?and hence why I say that modern capcom fighters are scrubby as hell…just look at the Saskatoon scene as a example. The old scene was build around games like 3s,CVS2 and Tekken 5, and while I still dominated back then I can at least say the player base was competitive and good. Now fast forward to today and compare the current players to the old players…they are free as fuck.
The reason is because the old players build there skills around titles that emphasized strong fundamentals with a steep unapologetic learning curve. It was a lot more difficult to get into as a result but at the end of the day they became better players for it. Now with the new players a lot of them became involved with fighters through SF4 and while SF4 was intended to distill SF to its essence…in all honesty it just made the game easier for all the scrubs who lacked the skills to be good in the first place. I don’t really fault the players for this though, its just the nature of how these modern capcom fighters are designed and the lessons they teach. I was luckily spared from this since I got into fighters back when they were still good, and its for this reason that the skill gap between me and everyone here is so astronomical and why I’m able to troll with Dan and still win nigh effortlessly.
In conclusion, you and everyone else can love MVC3 and play its brains out but no one is ever going to convince me it’s a good game…its just another smash brothers in my eyes.
Actually I didn’t defend MVC3’s gameplay or even say I loved the game. Notice how I didn’t even give my opinion on the game yet.
If you read my “walls of text”, none of it was about the depth of MVC3 at all. It was about you spending the last week yapping about a game you have had 1 match in.
No one wants to convince you it’s a good game. We want to you shut up about it.
Your opinion that your opinion is worth more than anyone else’s because you’re a so called top player is exactly that; your opinion. It is also invalid because you don’t understand tier lists.
Even if I play less than you (which probably isn’t the case since I keep hearing that you only get to play for minutes a day…) I know more about fighting games than you and I don’t just parrot everything other people say.
First of ya your good your really good at SF4 your not the best though am sure others would argue that saying theres better (JsMaster ect ect) Your great at HD Remix but i find it funny how your talking about the oldschool crowed when the oldschool crowed condemned HDR because its FAR FAR inferior to the original Super Turbo (why dont you play that if your so oldschool) Never saw your skill in 3rd strike but i’ll give ya that. Even then so what your known about streetfighter games thats it. So how can you pass judgment on a VS title. I’ll just Darcuis as an example, the dudes sick as fuck in whatever game he plays (Darc if you ever get back into BB:CS i want a rematch, am serious. But he tends to play all those crazy games no one plays that are even more hardcore then what you play, so can he call himself a to player and tell you just how bad SSF4, am sure hed have alot to say. Or if i passed judgment on thirdstrike even though i hardkey played it but am alright at Blazblue and GG (to a lesser extent) Or Evan, everybodys good at certain games but that dosent give anyone the athourity to hate on a complety diffrent game.
Plus lol i still find that funny (everyones free at a game i train alot with) NO REALLY? Oh no some people are free to you in SSF4 am sure theres a dozen of other fighting games other locals play (there favorite games) that your flat out free on. Plus what no respect to Dustin? Last time i checked hes pretty good at ssf4, not sure about evan and his SSF4 playing as of late but last time i checked he was also pretty awesome.
Give respect to those who deserve it and stop hating on everyone. Now I’ll leave this post with a evo style post.
Well your completly free to me in Blazblue CS i can guarantee that, and HD remix is complete crap compared to the original so why don’t you go play the real version. Since am decent at a game am allowed to say that about HD remix. Am also sure that if i had a ps2 stick and and had time to train you’d be free in guilty gear as well (a game that requires FAR more skills then SSF4)
I’m not a “so called top player”, I am a top player. Believe it or not some of us don’t always use cite opinion as a source to validate a claim as fact, some of us actually rely on hard evidence to verify a claim. With that said I have more then enough verification and hard evdence from my victories over top players and praise from top players that my status as a top player is more then justified…in fact its justfified a good 10 times over by now.
I won’t even dignify the last remark because I know the extent of you’re so called knowledge regarding most things in life so I already know not to take it seriously, but even if I did take you at you’re word and believe you do know more about fighting games then me then you could have used that knowlede and told the people at TTF’s to stop spending hours practicing trials and fancy big combos and instead spend a fraction of time worrying over basic fundamentals lol.
You always need to make it personal, eh? Is that because you know I’m right?
My knowledge regarding most things in life… hah. Well, I don’t need to say anything about that besides draw your attention back to what you said. Regardless of anything you’re going to say on here, I know what you think about your knowledge in life vs. mine.
Never claimed I was the best, in fact only the top 3 in japan could claim that title. I said I was a top player meaning peers with other top players.
Like I said before I go into fighters through playing SF2T and even mentioned that I never got along with Sirlin over the changes he made in HDR. I only mained HDR because it had the player base and competition just like with SF4.
This is the biggest difference though, I am not a self proclaimed top player rather I’m a top player based off what others have said about me and the fights I’ve had…and when I say “others"I dont mean random players but top players within the community. When you have people like ross telling you"you’re already the best man, every fei feels so free thanks to you” or rebello (current best player in canada) saying"you’re very good man you should come down to toronto man and train with me and js" or have Daigo talking about how scary you’re fei long is you know you’re not just full of yourself. Like I said before I verify my claims with hard evidence and I would never call myself a top player for the sake of having a title.
I dont main every fighter possible so I have no issue being called free in games like GG or BB…but the question I have is that for all the local players who do main those games how many of them can claim to be a top player to the same degree that I am in SF4, that’s the difference:cool:
Nothing personal about it, just calling it like it is…can’t fault a bloke for being honest and while I do try to hold back on my honesty I just can’t help from being so damn sincere…its like a curse sometimes. Anyhow how can you be “right” when you’re clueless over the subject?..like its so confusing. I mean its a fighting game forum and you dont play fighters so why would you even bother to enter into this discussion with such bold claims against a top player like myself without any credibility to support you’re position…and echoing dustin doesn’t help by the way lol.
So look I’ll make this very clear and direct so that even you can understand why my opinions matter and why yours dont, in fact I’ll break it down like it was a UFC main event card:
Introducing first, fighting out of saskatoon sackacthewan, he is a top level player who has been involved with the community and several of it’s most accomplished players for a number of years (this is me by the way:shy:) and who is also the undisputed number 1 player in all of Sask…his opponent, fighting out of saskatoon saskacthewan, she post on SRK every now and then…
Yeah so If I was a betting man I’ll bet that the top level player is just a tiny bit more qualified when it comes to discussing fighting games…thats just how I would see it:clapdos:
Richard, I think you are getting a little too excited over perhaps being the best player among a total pool of 15 people, most of which don’t even care about SF4 competitively. This really isn’t any reason to be prancing about, swining your mini dick around like a faulty helicopter.
Yes, you are good at this game and have done well considering where we are from and the lack of scene present. However, claiming you are a top player is probably reaching like Dhalsim.
Just because your big bro chucked Daigo a green note to play 2 matches with you and shake your hand, doesn’t exactly mean you are in the same league. Just because you sent a few top players some US dollars via paypal to play some laggy sets, doesn’t mean you are getting the similar tournament results as them.
It is nice that they complimented you on your play. However, maybe you should use that as motivation to keep grinding and improving your game so you can someday achieve your street fighter goals. Getting a huge hard on about it and bragging isn’t exactly making you a better player.
All this puffing your chest out claiming King of Sask (a title of which you fairly lost) isn’t impressing your top player heroes due to the fact that they don’t even know what or where Saskatchewan is.
I’m not sure how you can call these top players your peers, when you would gladly insert your bald head into their anus to wax it, or let them run a train on your girl to play a first to 5 set. Looking up to people just cause they play vids aint a good look. They aren’t out here saving lives breh.
Right now you sound like the champ of Stampede wrestling, claiming you are on the same level of Stone Cold Steve Austin just because you took a picture with him and he autographed your tits.
