Generally both characters are said to be “good”. Except the fact that no one uses them. Ever wonder why no one uses them? The proof is in the pudding.

It’s just takes so much more effort to win in most match ups then other characters. Probably less true for T Hawk, since if you’re playing “Scrubs” you can usually get empty jump into Mexican typhoon or delay a Condor Dive and catch them throwing out errant moves. If you’re playing someone who truly knows the character, you’re in for one helluva battle. Adon… Everything is risky in Adon’s world. One miss timed Rising Jaguar and you’re in for a world of no holds barred pain.

And how can you main two characters? Easy, you use just the two characters, equally. “But V,” you could say to me, “by definition ‘main’ refers to ONE character.” Well, that’s really just being pedantic, isn’t it?

There will always be characters everyone plays and characters nobody plays thats how the game is. Look at Super in 2010, NOBODY plays adon they think he sucks then along comes gamerbee and he cleans up now suddenly you have an Adon army online and even a little bit offline.

Was he bad? No of course not people gotta find shit out and learn the game. A character being more effort to play doesn’t mean hes bad its means jack. Some characters are easy to play some are hard i have no idea why it should matter. If two characters are going against each other and when both are played at there highest levels and its either 5/5 or 4/6 Its fine it doesn’t matter if one player has to put a bit more effort to bring there character to that level.

Now this is going way off topic so I’ll just simply say. Ya sure T Hawk might be i dont know him. But its not like Adon has a lot of 7/3 match ups (does he have any) So calling him a crummy character is wrong.

I think you just have the wrong mindset picking a character you think is bad. If a character is bad dont play them!

I grew up in the starcraft community where people didn’t have the mindset of (This is just awful don’t bother) You work at things and make em work and if there bad you don’t waste your time on it. Like really who wants to spend all this time grinding shit out on a character you think is bad. Kind of a defeatist attitude isn’t it?

I gotta shut up just i hate that mindset of just saying “X” is awful and bad.

So, I revert back to Adon solely, because… Well, I don’t know.

Anyways, today went as things usually go. 50-50. Then again, 90% of the people I play are 2000 pp +, so I guess I should expect them to be better…

Although I did beat the #142 Adon in a mirror match, and quite handily at that. I’m not sure if the player has just never fought another Adon, but for having 5000 BP, they sure didn’t play like it…

Nah, you’re right Kharn, I was just being kind of a dick when I said that (or that’s how it comes off re-reading it, anyway). It’s just how SSFIVAE gets into your mind and makes you wanna punch a hole in the wall. Honestly though, T Hawk Vs Adon should be 10- 0 In Adons favour. I played a 4000 BP Hawk (I Know it’s not good to go by bp/pp but it’s the only real indication of “skill level” however specious, and to get that many points, you have to be DECENT) and I just wrecked him. If for no other reason than you can Intercept a Condor Dive with Adon’s U2. It completely removed his air game (and let’s face it, Hawk doesn’t really have many options).

I noticed a disturbing trend though… My Adon is NOTHING like any other Adon’s I face or watch. It’s like… I’m playing a different character. Lots of it is due to the controller, I can’t do fancy pants combos or even FADC’s reliably… So I just don’t. In fact, I use Adon’s U1 80% of the time, and find new ways to get it off. I’ve also noticed that it’s almost always Safe on block, since most people will try and grab you or DP you, wherein you just backdash and avoid and punishment… Except for looking like a scrub (but hey… we are what we are, right?).

Anyways, it’s my bad, Kharn, didn’t mean to sound like such a dick.

Anyways, I’ve got my class wrapping up here in a week and a bit, and when that’s done, I’m going to try and start hosting some casuals here on a fairly regular basis, so I hope most of you guys will be able to make it when that starts happening.

Yea no one. Except Justin Wong (long thought to be the best in the US - not so much now) and Gamerbee (best in Taiwan). Two of the top 10 players in the world.

ITT people claim bad matchups because they lose.

BP is PURELY an indication of how much you’ve played on that account. Not of skill, in the least.

Haha, as if I give a damn about J Wong or gamerbee. How many times do you think I’m going to be in the top 8 at Evo? How many tournaments do you see around Saskatoon? Also, notice how J Wong only uses Adon in certain match ups ? Even gamerbee switches from Adon. Professional level gaming is completely irrelevant.

99% of my playing is done on XBL. Therefore, I don’t really care about these “pro gamers”. Nor do I care about frame data or move priority. All I know is what works when I’m playing online. It works consistently, and it gets wins.

Adon was always good. yes he has his fair share of bad matchups, as does everyone in the game.

That’s the exact mentality evo has. if it works online consistently, it must be good. Then you get blown up at AB2 not even top8’ing when you called the whole province free. Juri and Blanka are gods online, but offline they aren’t even near the top. you can’t punish blanka balls and pinwheels and divekicks online. but offline they are easy to punish.

@V, Im not sure how you were able to get away with never being punished for doing unsafe ultra 1s on people and them blocking it. I always got punished if I threw that out and people blocked it.
@Stang, I don’t see how blanka is a god online because of blanka ball, sure not ever character could punish it but you could be knocked out of it fairly easily.

he’s a god because you can’t react or punish the stuff he does. slide, rainbow ball, jump, hop. they all get magnified online.

Hey I’m just posting for my friend ric so I hope I don’t get in to much trouble lol.

Stang I’m pretty convinced you were not at ab2 because if you were you would know I didn’t get blown up and only lost to a signle person the entire event and that was Jamie. I didn’t drop a single game during casuals or in singles outside Jamie after some close fights.I did however fly through teams and beat the grand champ 3-0 and the runner-up 2-1…i guess I was out of line for calling ab free:)

It’s nothing new though ab has only had a single guy who can beat me consistently, it’s been that way ever since I came out to cc. Although after ab2 i understand where most ab guys come from since I’m sure it must suck getting bodied offline as bad as you get bodied online so I can understand the salt. Stay free folks!

congrats, you somewhat have an excuse. just like every tournament you go to. I’m just looking out for your image. Calling alberta free then not even top8’ing in an alberta tournament looks really bad. but i guess you’re use to looking bad.

I don’t play at tournaments, like AB2, because I don’t practise in a tournament setting. And I really don’t care about tournaments; too much salt at those events for my tastes. The egos around those events could choke a small child.

I’ve never met a good Blanka online (read: never met a good Blanka YET). Don’t know what that’s all about. Blanka Ball can be a pain, but I’ve never had that much of an issue with it. Maybe it’s just my screwy playstyle and bad connection. Yeah, online sucks, you can win 70% of your matches with 3 moves. But who cares? It’s not like I can pop down to the Arcade and play AE all day with skilled opponents, so it’s all I got if I want to play SF.

And as for Adon’s U1… You don’t just “throw it out”, you do it at specific times. People online tend to fall into mental patterns. It’s easy to tell how they react a round or two in. Combine that with a general lack of experience fighting Adon, and it’s easy to confuse alot of players. Yeah, you’ll get punished if you guess wrong; live and learn.

Well it’s true stang I didn’t get top 8, all I did was handily beat the grand champ and the entire ab player base save for 1 guy. I guess 1 out of 20+ is still good enough to no be considered free:)

In hate and anger we become as what we most despise. I think Ricardo suffers enough. It’s cut-throat and dishonorable being so petty in his absence. He is not posting and in his absence there is nothing but more hate and anger. I hope we can all learn to love and forgive each other regardless of our difference.

I’m sorry I voiced my opinion. It’s hard to restrain myself when I see everyone talking so bad about someone who clearly is in need of a little compassion. Why are so many young’s people heart so hard and unforgiven. I thought the answer was found in the heat of battle, not in petty backtalk.

Ricardo beat me fair and square. I don’t remember feeling belittle or less of a person because of it.That may not have been everyone’s experience but he is clearly capable of being a decent human being some of the time. Continue to hate each other of give each other a chance.

I’ve talked plenty behind people’s back before. From experience, when I speak bad about someone in their absence it showed me for who I am at the time. I try to choose something else today.

My comment isn’t aimed at you or anyone Foger. I speak to the anger and hate that Ricardo has created through his actions. I understand that he has hurt many through words and actions and through my dealings with him I feel that he has been punished enough. We are not punished for our anger, we are punished by it.

I can’t think of anyone who deals with more hate that Ricardo in the forums. He is his worst enemy as we are our own worst enemy. Please, I implore you all, forgive him, block him, ignore him.

Ricardo is already already down and beaten. Both here, in life, in tournaments, what else could you possibly take from him except his pride. Let him have it.

The only person that can change Ricardo is Ricardo. I’m sure he did all types of dumb ass things at AB but thus far he hasn’t criminally hurt anyone. I’m not the thought police, everyone can keep going as before and I am sure we will all continue as before as will Ricardo. Or we can all change, this is always the choice regardless of the situation.

You get my nomination for most free gamer EVER. It shocks me that you can have that kind of mentality yet still care enough about the game to come here.

When you say ‘works consistently’…weren’t you just bitching about winning < 50% of the time? Wondering why you can’t win more? Well there ya go.

Also stang is correct. Blanka becomes godly online. Offline you can block a BB on reaction but online anytime you so much as press forward you’re taking a risk. Sure you can mash jab to beat it if it comes but that only works when you’ve got a lifelead. Not only that but his wakeup shenanigans are very easy to beat offline (the dash through, sweep etc) but online you’re stuck purely guessing.

Other characters get better online as well (cant react to geif empty jump online) but none so dramatically as blanka.

Please just spam report on everything ric posts. I truly pity someone who keeps coming back to a place where no one wants him.

Please don’t confuse our mocking and ostracizing of a sociopath as ‘hatred’. Not everything can be solved with compassion.

Has your hatred fixed Ricardo? You are right, love or hate are the same. Take a long hard look at yourself.

It is only through self mastery that we can make things better. Through self empowerment, through wisdom. In your blind hate you’ve claimed to know about the Buddha when in your actions the only solution is always to bitterly hold on to your anger. Many listen to you as in our greed we continue to hurt each other.
