Umm you do realize I was up a game and round on brian and was nearly a few pixels from eliminating him right. Besides brian is good I dont take anything away from him, bad pad or not. We fought in MM briefly were I lead 3-1, but he was with a heavy fever so to me its void.

Except im not making excuses because im not saying anything against the wins, im only saying that I could have played better then what was shown and gave reasons why I think i wasnt able to fight as good as i normally do. CC was a situation beyond my control, and MM was a situation of the finals being delayed by nearly 3 hours due to poor organizing. I was literally called for my match as I was about head out the door, hence why i had to bolt as soon as my match was done.
Anyways man as far as your concerned, you didnt once approach me for a set at MM even inspite of making direct eye contact and sitting right next to me for a good 20 mins. You didnt say or do anything during that time and we had like 3 open SF4 stations next to us. Basically im not gonna deal with you running and playing theory fighter on me, I have a good internet connection running 4 times better then before so if your claiming you can beat me then lets have a set. You see the biggest difference between you and me is that when I claim im better then someone I offer the chanllenge, like with jamie im not just spewing angry troll post im offering to fight him to prove my point because words can only go so far.
This samething applies to you, dont talk anymore about how much better you are then me…show it. Dont come on this thread or the calgary thread talking about how weak my game is and how you can walk all over it, instead just come online and send me a invite and show me and everyone how good you are. When I say I didn’t play SSF4 for a month before MM I meant it. I never had a scene… and I never played Jamie. Marvel came out; we didn’t play SSF4 because of it. A week went by, then we went to Mexico for a week. No FGs there either. I was home for one day before I went back to Lloydminster for three weeks, and I spent all that time practicing combos for Marvel. Then, I boxed up all my shit and moved home. I got back to Calgary the day before MM :lol: I spent the entire last year working in Lloydminster… the only time I got to play any of the Calgary guys was at occasional weekend gatherings. The only person I ever played on a regular basis was Jamie.
Really you seem pretty proud of yourself for being at the level you are at having no local scene… well man same applies to me :lol: All I had was online play… I had the best internet available in Lloyd and I still could only play the same 10-15 people online becuase everything else was unplayable. My character has no shoryuken, no chicken wing, no 3 frame normals, nothing mashable, 1 frame links all over the place, and I still found a way to make it work.
You did make excuses. Do not deny it. Everything you write on the internet stays there forever.
It would have been better for you if you had just left. Maybe if you got a driver’s license and a car you would have been able to play at your full potential? BTW, your full potential is still not good enough to beat a proven tournament player when it counts.

whenever someone from out of sask calls him out on their character, he goes on about how hes so godlike(except when he comes to town to play us, incidentally) and ignores legitimate concerns about how he treats people by challenging them to a set in sf
rick, your comebacks are as weak as your excuses for choking in tournament play. like ive said before man i met you at cc, we had a nice friendly chat and played a few close/fun games, and you seemed a lot cooler than i’d remembered from srk/keep it classy(edm tourney).
you gotta understand that trying to be a community leader takes more than being good at sf. you’re a very strong player, theres no doubt about that. but your very apparent calousness for a) peoples feelings, b) social interactions and c) humility are really hurting any chance you have of starting a scene
SF is not popular enough(at least in the prairies) that you can be a jerk to everyone and still have them respect you because of your ability. the backbone/primordial soup of a strong scene is a COMMUNITY
you aren’t ever going to get a community with your attitude man. your personality might work, thrive even, in the right environment, but not where you are. the proof is in the pudding: almost nobody in sask wants anything to do with you. even when you go out of town you’re generally disliked
my advice dude is to simply just chill out a bit. drop the ego - dispite how good we can get, or the hype behind what we do, or the time and effort that goes into it - it all boils down to one fact. we play a fucking video game as our main hobby. stop acting like you’re tupac/biggie in some big beef with a bunch of important people. we are duking it out over an electronic medium, nobody is better than anyone else because of how good they are at a game.
personally, i play fighting games because i love the competition. if i was the best player within hundreds of kms, and trying to get an active community going, i sure wouldn’t be taking the route you are

no this thread is all about you. Right now I’m seeing it as a cautionary message, about how if you get involved with Saskatchewan street fighter, those poor newbies will have to deal with you.
unlike Tyler, I’m not giving you the benefit of the doubt. You will never be able to build a scene on Sask… leave that job up to someone else.

In the past I had a pretty lame internet connection that a lot of players (Cody included) would complain against and say meant nothing. That set with Jamie was under that same internet connection so its just kind of funny how only certain fights means something (basically anytime I lost a round or match it seems lol). Anyways a week or 2 ago I updated to shaw warp so my connection is great now and I can finally have legitimate sets.
Anyways moving on, does anyone know any other great spots to set up flyers. Outside the cove,EB,HT I dont know where else we can advertise so any suggestions would be cool.
Next Level. May not seem like it, but that place is super popular (pretty much because its so close to 3 highschools and lawson mall).
But I think most people who go over there are probably FPS junkies XD

Anyhow sorry for the lack of updates Ive just been so busy with work and theres nothing new to report thus far…well outside that MK9 is right around the corner and that im damn hyped for that game. I also wanted to mention that if anyone is doing gatherings or wants some games im down untill the tournament starts. I think we should all start getting organized again untill the tournament starts, if this tournament can attract new players it would be good to already have a established player base. It would make it easier for new people and possibly give us a decent shot of building something more.

It just doesn’t look exciting at all really, i use to love MK. Like so many characters get confirmed for MK9 NOW instead of having game play trailers for them all or write ups about the character (like other companies) They have these trailers for some characters mentioning there story? wtf? Then there other adds are what? a cos play contest, guys dancing in front of a wall.
Instead of showing me the one character i like in the whole game lets have a bunch of women dressing up. So for the most part there PR is Blood and fatalities, Background story on characters and boobs.
Wow looks so competitive and trusting in its game play!. I guess it looks okay but honestly compare it to the games out for this generation that look better and probably have a better community then MK9. SSF4,Teekan 6, MVC3, Blazblue, Arcana 3 umm hell even Soul Calibur 4. It can be fun buty why spend 60 dollars to play a game thats fun and not as fun as other games i own.
Blood and guts and T&A sell and its the biggest reason why MK became so iconic. Its a lazy advertisment strategy but its usually the most effective one with the biggest profit to be had.
Because the game has the potential to become a great tournament fighter and offer something different to the genre. In my case im looking forward to it because its something new and looks like it has a lot to offer. If I breakdown what is currently on the market this is how it goes down:
SF4 is old news
nobody cares about BB or A3
SC hasnt been on anyones radar since 2
MVC3 is a joke
Tekken is solid but it isnt as popular as SF it seems so the incentive to play well in it just isnt there. I dont know where MK9 will fall in the scheme of things but im crossing my fingers it becomes the next SF4…and hopefully way better lol.
