But are you the best HD Remix player in Canada? No? BITTERNESS!
^Damn right, not bad for having dropped the game for about a year:)
some of the east coast players might have something to say about that.
i took some of that hdr money,
i am the king of sask SSF4 now.
on the real though, good game ric, nice seeing you ended up making it out.
Hey Dalton, thanks for your 5 dollars!

East coast HDR players are free!
It was cool though, i just hated botching my CW against Wong so much I ate 3 low tiger shots in a row trying to do it lol.
Ouch my match with Daigo was so free…I gotta order my pad in for next time after seeing that match.
I am starting to compile up links to pics and videos from the Canada Cup Tournament in a google doc. This will make things easier to find
Please check it out and update it.
Well I’ve had time to compose myself and rest up so I’d like to go over this event for a bit. First off I want to once again extend my gratitude to Lap and the CC crew for doing a amazing job at the event and I certainly look forward to next years CC. I was also quite pleased by the number of Sask players who attended, it was great to see all you guys again and hopefully we can get together more often in person. It would be really sweet if this event can inspire some growth into Sask and that hopefully we can all recover from the unnecessary past turmoil and move forward as a strong united community.
I learned a lot this past weekend and it was a certainly a very humbling experience. Granted the lack of sleep and terrible D-pad didn’t do me any favors but I was able to uncover 2 crucial flaws in my game. The first being underestimating my opponents and the second being to pace myself during events. Im glad it happen though because now I’ll know not to make the same mistake a 2nd time around, this weekend has made me more hungry for competition and to continue on improving…I’m also getting back into HDR lol.
Best in Canada baby!
 Although in all honesty I did terrible at CC this year and was quite frankly a disgusting performance. I feel like the only time I played true to myself was at the salty suite that 1 night but other then that I was free the entire time lol. I wish I would have known about inthul’s pad a few weeks before the touny or at least had the chance to test out my converters but:shake:
Well hey I want to know the experiences of the Sask guys, what did yo guys learn and take away from this event?
basically that i’m not as good as i thought i was, and have a lot of improvement to do on my execution, patience, and i need more gimmicks!
Gimmicks for the win! XD
If anyone wants Guy practice, as always, just hit me up on XBL (untill I get a godamn car/license/ect). I’m getting better daily.
Canada Cup 2010 Google doc have been updated
^cool man, it was really a great event Im sad its all over:sad:
Anyhow my name got dropped on SRK and eventhubs ha…granted I was basically being called a shitty player but its all good lol. Like I said before I too was let down by my showing at CC, once my converters didn’t work I knew using whatever other controller was avaible would pretty much spell my doom. I guess Ill just have to prove all the stream monsters and guys at the commentary table wrong next time:china:

Edit: Its been awhile since anything regarding a community has been spoken of but after last weekend I am inspired to get the ball rolling once again and to hopefully make it work out this time. From a conversation I had with a fellow who once lived in Sask only a short while ago, he informed me that there are several closet sask players in town…infact quite a few. This pretty much confirmed what I had always known from the start but due to obvious limitations in regards to a venue or functioning community we can never draw these people out. Im pretty confident that if we can get in enough numbers then finding a sponsored public venue (such as hi-tech or the university) will not be a problem. It wont be easy but I think the best approach is to just start off small and simple and see where things go from there.
As it stands there is no community base or gathering spot to speak off, therefore I’d like to start from scratch and build something new. My suggestion is to run weekly ranking tournaments online, hopefully every weekend either on Sat or Sun. These weekly online events will be for the purpose of establishing a consistent player base and to keep the known community members connected. During this time I’ll be making my way around town and seeing which stores might be interested in hosting for our community, untill then i think online will be the most viable and practical option.
This thread will be used to keep track of stats, member introductions and to keep the community posted on any updates regarding venue’s or events. Its really important that we try to stay involved and active on this thread and in these weekly events, even if its only a strong front from 4-6 people it’s still better then nothing and maybe with just enough time and effort can progress into something more. Whoever is interest in this idea plz let me know, and if there is any suggestions or recommendations plz let your voices be heard. My goal is to start a new"toon town fights"but this time as a strong banded community that can someday enjoy a thriving competitive scene.
Hi there
omg hi
Hey yo, well I don’t have anything yet with a venue (probably wont for awhile lol) but I will be working on a new community site simply known as the “Toon Town Fights”. The community site will focus soley on the Sask community and report rankings, events and anything concerning the community. Hopefully it can some day be the home for a "real"local scene but I guess only time will tell.
Anyhow I was thinking of doing the online tourny on sat around 6pm, I was also thinking we could do a lobby beforehand for about 30 mins just to warm up and get some games in. Maybe I can get it streamed too, but anyways if you’re interested then just post it on here and let me know.
Id go for it. But im pretty sure the only Saskatchewanians (uh… is that right???) who post/come here is me, skulltron, you, and (I think) norman.
