LMAO,
Well the only thing I can guess is that these silencers are either some special foam or a cloth-like material.
I’m interested.
These still being produced? Count me in as interested if so due to waking up family at night. =/
So my immediate future is looking to have roommates in it. Roommates significantly older than myself. These would actually be of use to me now. Though I’d have tow think that the sound the stick makes, hitting the gate, makes the most noise.

Nah, it’s not the sound of hitting the gate that’s really loud. It’s the sound of the microswitches being activated that is the loudest part in normal play. Hitting the gate is actually pretty quiet. Once I get some of these (either here or official), I intend to get an optical stick.
Does it still feel the same as a sanwa button without it?
I’ve played around with Kuya_Joe’s Chun-li stick with Marcelo’s button pads and Toodle’s optical sensor. I can tell you one thing, the microswitches are the ones that make far greater noise.
Don’t know if testers are still being sought but im pretty interested if you can ship to Canada.
He never got back to us as far as I know. No test samples went out.
I’m not sure when Marcelo will be back… There was a terrible accident in his fam and he is currently dealing with it… I wont get into it further but I know his projects are on hold untill then…
Thanks for the update Kuya and I hope everything is okay with Marcelo and his family.
What’s the long term durability of the material? Does it compress over time resulting a buttons that travel differently depending on the amount of use? Does it affect to overall feel compared to unmodded buttons? Does it respond to double tapping?
I’ve been using foam like material for over a year as a silencer and it’s easy and cheap to acquire but while it silences the buttons it also changes the feel. The buttons have thump instead of a snap and the buttons travel very short. This results in a almost touch like feel with little feed back to the buttons.
the link to the image doesnt seem to be working.
Buy some synthetic felt and cut to size.
Thank you Joe for clearing it up. Sorry for the MIA guys but it’s been madness. I am going to be setting up an online shop in the next 2 weeks and hopefully we will have them available for sale then. Also I will be sending out test samples of the beta-Gen. 1 silencers out this weekend. Like I said it’s been pretty crazy past month and 1/2. I really appreciate everyone’s patience in this.
A quick update:
COST is paramount!
If I can’t make them affordable and easy for everyone to get I will not sell them… Period! I’m not committing to a price point yet because of manufacturing considerations.
Generation 1 sets
These will be a durable fabric material. Average life span of them is between 6-8 months. The ones I have in my eight arc are over 6 months old. Caveat, if you have LEDs in your stick these are not compatible. Thanks to Kuya_joe from J&J for helping me test them out.
Generation 2 sets
These will be a different material just not sure what. I was experimenting with lots of different materials but the R&D for that has halted in light of recent events. Also keeping in mind that Gen. 2 models will allow for already existing mods like LEDs.
Seitmitsu support down the line it’s just proving harder than I thought
24mm ones planned for release soon after initial release
I’m sure the Gen 1’s should be compatible with the new ArcEye 3 LEDs.
Not sure… I haven’t had time to really test it… if you wanna be a guinea pig by all means, I’ll send you prototypes.
being that the arc3 led’s shine throught the bottom of the clears I dont think you will get the effect you want with the silencers… the material used wont allow that much light from the bottom… you would still get some ambient light but not as much without the silencers…
Thanks Joe.
