Hey a couple of buddies and I will be in attendance to Polycon. May I get a rough estimate of how many people that are going to attend?
Hey Xsk. This event actually isn’t Polycon. This is a mini con but in respect to our section it doesn’t really matter lol. We would probably promote and run polycon heavier but this tournament should have a great turn out with Santa Maria, Paso, SLO, Fresno and possibly Santa Barbara and Ventura players showing up. Look forward to seeing you there!
Josh, there is no $5 entry fee if you are there just for video games. Part of everything we take in will be split to Polycon for their generosity and the rest will be used for payouts. Depending on attendance our % will be taken as needed but probably not much.
Alright. So I’m just going to ask you to make sure. Where will the venue be and what time should we be there? Also, what time will everything start?
Cal Poly University Union. Room 219. We should be starting around 10:00 AM with casuals…tournaments don’t start till 11:00 and I think that’s just mk9. Which events were you planning on entering?
Mvc3, 3rd strike and ae. Which system will it be held on?
It will be held on Xbox360 and the 3s is the first tournament of the day. Not sure how many we will have for it. It starts at 12:00. may be delayed slightly.

D’oh, I wish I would’ve known of this event! Back in '09 I went nuts trying to find some locals to play, and I eventually gave up. If you guys ever hold another event, I’m in for sure!
We have casuals every Friday night at Cal Poly, and We try to have Tournaments at least once a month there too. I live in SM as well, hit me up if you play MK. Next time I go up to play if I have room you can catch a ride with me
Yeah, I remember you posting int his thread back in 2009 lol, go check page 1 dude, I had an event but I don’t think you showed up, definitely come to our next tournament or casuals to get involved though. I’ve been playing when I can and there is usually a small group Fridays at cal poly.
I foresee us having an event for ultimate in the near future.

So who picked up UMVC3? and which teams are you running with?
Sup Jangles! I picked it up for 360, been messing around with Frank West (dat shopping cart!) so far and doing missions for new characters and playing with my old point character Captain America (hes so gdlk now!). Don’t have a solid team yet. So many good characters to choose from now makes team building such a challenge. Right now I’m torn between leveling up my UMVC3 and Skyrim (game is too gdlk). Going to be ironing out my team by the next event though.
I think the next tournament for Showdown is sometime in January at the Cal Poly Polycon Fall Winter Mini. I’ll post details on that when I have more.
What about you? Any teams really standing out to you right now?

I know Game Theory is happening at Cal Poly. Are you going to be on the Central Coast? I don’t know if I can go to Game Theory yet, need to check. There probably will be some other peeps there though I’m sure.

So far the only person I’ve been trying to learn is Frank, he so cool! I’m thinking about Nemesis on point and then mah boi spencer on anchor or possibly trish depending on team synergy for Frank level ups.

yea, im in lompoc right now lolz. i havent played it since it dropped 
but im gonna try and run something with nemesis, doom, and hawkeye. but we’ll see…still not sure on the order.
