It was pretty funny to see the cop appear on the stream lol I highlighted and uploaded the footage to youtubes.

I’m going to upload Polycon and 1.4 footage to Youtube when I find some time.

for all the people who can’t make it to evo this year, smk will be holding a mini turny in paso robles, drinks, food, and good times will be had. this will be something like 10 bucks a game winner takes all. plz reply if your interested

Hey Jangles. When and where? I have a friend visiting SLO that is interested.

SAVE THE DATE!!! Looks like our next tournament will be on August 27th!! Entry fee this time will be a flat 10 dollars per game, with hopefully a larger prize at the end, which is dependent on how many entrants we get. We hope to see you there and invite your friends!!!

This Saturday August 13th, we will be running a small tournament at the Santa Maria mall. $5 Buy in winner take all for mk9, mvc3, and AE. THere will not be a stream, casuals start at 10:00, tournaments start at noon with mk9.

This would be my first tournament, so how does it work? Will AE be played on 360 or PS3? Do we bring our own pad/stick and is it alright if we use a custom button layout before each game?

Hey all, I’m attending Cal Poly this year. I move to SLO in September and I’m bringing my SF setup. I’m looking to get involved or at least acquainted with your scene. I dabble in a lot of games, so I’m down to play almost anything. Hope to meet you guys soon.

360, byostick. custom is fine

Focus Break 1 is 4 days away at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo!!! Doors should open around 10:00, first tournaments will be Mk9 and 3S which will take place at the same time starting around 12:00.

Saturday Schedule!! We will be in the room setting up for the day at 10:00AM. We should have at least one set up running by then so:

Casuals: 10:00 AM
Mk9: 11:00AM $10
SF:3S: 12:00 $10
MvC3: 1:30 $10
SSF4 AE: 4:00 $10

We have to be cleaning up and out of the room AT 10:00!!! We really need people to show up on time for the events that they would like to enter. We would like to be able to get through all the tournaments and have time for some post-tournament casual play.

This tournament will be payed out via Check. If you would like to pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or Discover) it will not affect the payout.

If you plan on attending this event please post a comment below so I can get an estimate of the attendance.

Nic, I sent you a quick email with components and software you’ll need to run the stream on Saturday. Hit me up if you have questions.

Hey I (Nic Peterson) Will be going to La Rumba Casuals this SUNDAY in Santa Barbara. If anybody would like to come with me please give me a call or text me at 805-801-5853

Oh man I thought I was doomed for just online sense I live in Nipomo. I guess there is a fighting game scene near here!

So its based out of the Cal Poly campus for like casuals and some tournys or something?

I moved to SLO last week. Are there weekly gatherings or do I have to wait for some sort of tourney? Any players at Cal Poly?

For weekly casuals there is Game Theory every Friday night on the Cal Poly campus that hosts fighting games as well as tabletop and other games. Attendance has been a little low lately due to Evo just passing and we also just recently finished our first RanBat season.

There are usually atleast 3-5 people on Friday nights playing games. If you check the original post there is a database of local players that you can check out and add yourself to if you are looking for more frequent casuals with people and playing online with some of them.

I try and keep the OP updated with current events. I’ve also JUST put up our new website today that is still under construction as I get more time to add content and info about events and the scene.

Next big event is at Cal Poly on October 8th for the Fall mini-con. Stay tuned for more info about that. Check out the next event to make friends and find out info about casuals and stuff.

I’ll probably attend game theory this coming friday then. I brought down a PS3 stick and a PS2 stick with a PS3 converter and a 360 converter. OP says there are PS3 setups, but from what I’ve gathered your tournies are on 360. Am I going to have a problem? I left my 360 TE up North.

Yo to all that know me and hello to those who don’t, my name is Jerry and i feel like having all the best fighters of the 805 area in one location on Saturday nights, at Seths Games and Anime shop in Ventura. They have been holding these SF (3rd Strike and AE) tourneys for some time now. Entry fee is a measly $5 per tournament. If the turnout is big enough they hand out cash prizes to the winners. Come show your skills amongst your fellow SF players, have fun and maybe win some cash while you’re at it! haha. Bonus: I’ll be awarding the winner(s) a set of brand mutha fuckin new Sanwa buttons of your color choice!!! So every Saturday night at Seth’s Games and Anime in Ventura around 8pm (usually). Show up, Throw down, win money, get bitches!!! I’ll be bringing my A game because im sooooo M.S.F. RANK!!! Seth’s Games and Anime is located at :
