I also moved to the Bay Area peninsula recently for work and I am looking to connect with the SF crew in the area. I read some of the good meetup info in response to ChopSui’s post; I’ll probably check out Starbase next week (even though the drive looks crazy). I’m looking to go to Keystone II tomorrow afternoon, so if anyone is in the Redwood City area, I wouldn’t mind offering a ride/carpooling to San Jose. My HRAP3 hasn’t shipped to me yet, but I’m down to drink and watch some good SSFIV competition if I can’t play.
DanDan-
I’m in Redwood City. Are you heading to Keystone II?
I’m always up for sessions, and I’m pretty much always free.
I also know a few people who are willing to meet up for Super as well, but we don’t really have a decent place to meet up anymore.
Might as well post, I live in San Mateo but I usually end up driving to San Jose to play. It seems like some new people are popping up around this area so I figured I’d let people know. Also, my late class on Tuesday is done for the semester so if I have time to kill I’ll most likely be popping up at SFSU around 10 AM - 1 PM to get games in.

I just move to the San Mateo area recently but mostly play @ Metreon sometimes after work. Not sure if I’d ever get a chance to host at my spot but always down to journey to any Mateo sessions with some extra sticks.
Speaking of San Mateo, anyone have any updates on the EX Gamecenter arcade? Hoping those guys found a spot to lease near Caltrain for sure.
Sadness on the cancellation of Keystone II yesterday. Would Rack-N-Cue be the place for weekly meetups? Basically, I’m trying to find a good spot for weeknights or weekends; Starbase looks good but it’s pretty far. I’ll still check them out this week though.
Just to chime in, Rack-N-Cue is a great place to meet (I know the old Bay Area Melty Blood crew used to meet there, back in the day). It’s in an ideal location right next to the mall and has absurd amounts of public transportation going to and from the SFSU area. Also, if you guys want to get some games in on arcade, there are a steady amount of players everyday in the afternoon for Vanilla SF4 and BlazBlue, with a number of 3S and CvS2(!) players as well.
Just want to re-affirm that SFSU Rack n Cue is **THE PLACE **to play SF4 (and soon to be SSF4) for Arcade, as well as many other games (i.e. Blazeblue, Tekken 6, SF 3rd strike, CvS, MvC 2, etc…). I was reading through some of the recent posts and notice that there are some new people moving here and live close by. SFSU Rack n Cue offers GOOD competition, cheap games, good quality cabinets(except for the occasional idiot who mashes on the buttons, thus causing things to break and having to be replaced). Illest brought up a good point about how there is really good options for transportation (i.e buses, muni, and bart is pretty close by).
In case you are wondering what times there is competition for games…well it depends on what game you play, but for the most part. SF4 get’s busy from 10am-1:00pm…starting to extend to 2pm. For all other fighting games your in LUCK because there is usually ALWAYS someone playing from 10am till 3 or 4pm…sometimes later (i.e. blazeblue, tekken 6, cvs, mvc2, 3rd strike)
I do, sorta. I live in La Honda, but I’m over in RWC a lot. If you’re unfamiliar with La Honda, it’s about 20 minutes from Redwood going west on 84 (past woodside and up that windy road in the forest).
Im looking foward to SFSU having super… ill be there all the time. In the mean time tonight Im going to the Metreon… Ala in like an hour, and ill be there til who knows. Im glad I got things stirring… lol. I like to do number exchanges in person, so if anyone wants to meet I got a viper that is ready to play. Lemme know.
I’m down to play today. Hope someone reads this. I wouldn’t mind sfsu or metreon. Lemme know soon. Ill post before I go. If you post here ill def respond right away.
Doh! Didn’t see this post until now. Anyone wanna play at Metreon Tuesday around 3pm? I can play for about an hour, but maybe we can gather enough interested people to get a good rotation going. I’m not familiar with the setup there, so expect me to brood early and often
