San Diego North County SF4 players

I only have the PC version. I am currently playing on keyboard but I will be getting a pad soon. What system do you guys have SF4 on so I know to get a PS3 pad or a 360 pad. Thank you.

go to steinmania’s sessions. only place you’re going to get decent comp in north san diego.

there’s other small casuals that happen but those are usually only people who already know each other.

you’ll also probably get better response if you just post in the main san diego thread as most of us only check that for sd shit.

I Just called up tilt in the Carlsbad mall. They have the Street Fighter 4 machine back in there! Would anyone be down to play soon. Only price I got was a quarter for 2 mins.

I have the 360 version and the PC.

There is a sf4 cabinet at carlsbad mall?

Yeah there is. Though if I remember correctly it’s an xbox in an arcade cabinet, so be prepared to reconfigure buttons since they don’t match the layout

I just got back from the mall to check it out. The sticks are really nice there. Octagonal gates and the buttons are fine, but a little stiff. The only problem is the price, but if two people are on the machines, it might not be too bad. You pay 25 cents for 2 mins, but 2 people can play at the same time. I did have to remap the buttons once, but it saves it so thats cool. I did see a usb port on the top of the machine. I asked the guy about it, but he didn’t know. Possible bring your controller and play for free?

sf4 in the carlsbad mall is not worth it at all. i was at that place last monday and sf4 wasnt there anymore it was replaced with t6 but if someone called them and they said they had it then go for it. last time i saw sf4 in there though it was on a 360, you had to pay a dollar for 7min and about 2 of those 7min was waiting for loading screens and configuring buttons, and they didnt even have any characters unlocked.

whats with this Del mar sf4? any info?

North county comp sounds good to me! I have been completely out of the scene due to work (games industry loves to drive ya to the bone :frowning: ) but that is coming to an end! Myself and about 5 other guys have been leveling up at our studio and it would be awesome to get to play some people other then the guys down in SD. Granted we only played them once down at CVC before we started crunching.

Sounds like it is not worth it. Someone should host something here in North County, just friendlies, not necessarily a tournament even.

We need to find a place to go to. I’m down with the mall, but i would have to talk to the owner about the price system and possibly opening it up to unlock all of the chars. Unless you guys have a better idea then are you down to go to the mall, and if so what day would be good? Friday(s) at 6?

I think it would be better to host at someone’s house/garage than it would be to go to the Carlsbad mall and pay for what we could play on a home console. Unfortunately I can’t host anything at my house.

I stepped into the Mission Valley Tilt a few weeks back, and was surprised to see a SFIV machine there! It sounds like the same setup - console driven, @ 25 cents per 2 minutes. I also saw 2 USB ports on the cab as well. Felt like square gate Sanwa sticks, with an odd 8 button layout (LAME) that needed configured. Overall, not a good experience, especially with the 2 min time limit.

I need to check out Box Arena… I work in the Miramar area right down the street! Are there still regular casuals taking place there?

^^ you got The Box Arena which I believe goes down on Wednesday nights, weekly tournaments at CO on Monday nights, and TTF on Friday nights. All of the locations are somewhat of a drive but it’s worth it If you want competition

box arena sessions don’t happen regularly anymore and its become more of an invite based system compared to before because they’ve moved to a new house which can’t accomodate the large number of regulars sd has. CO has wednesday casuals as well to make up for it but once again its a bit of a drive for you north county folk.

i’ll be completely honest though, playing on those faux arcade cabs won’t be worth your time or money if you’re trying to level up especially since we’re still way behind the LA/OC players by quite a bit.

i think your best hope is to get in contact with SeikuRyu (Steinmania) and get in on his casuals on i think they are sundays if you aren’t willing to make the drive for all the stuff down here.

Hey if you have room to host soom peeps from North county try and set it up.

I would have to clear it with one of my boys but he has a place that could fit 5-6 setups pretty easy. I need to get him on board, but like I said this all won’t happen till we are done with our game prolly around April. But I will keep you guys updated to see if we can get something going on a weekend or something, we try to get small sessions in.

Glad to see you’re still alive, Icetrap. (it’s been like a year long crunch time now?) I’ll be sure to try and stop by if you host anything.

What system will it be on 360 or ps3?
