When I go to play games, i come with a set spending limit in mind… when i got to ffa i bring 20 bucks, when i got to mudd club i bring 20 bucks, when i go to nickel i bring 3 bucks because nickel sucks. When i go to cal poly i bring 20 bucks… There isnt a place in sd that is gonna fix the stick for you on command or even listen to a damn word you say, except Mudd Club… so fuck it dont support this place… but please dont cry about not having a good arcade in san diego anymore… because you people that complain about the quarter, are the same people that I rarely see at any arcade, except for nickel city…
I dunno who spends 20 bucks at an arcade just on games in one day.
it all comes down to the price. thats why a lot of us went to nickel even though it was shitty. now its fixed (supposedly)

So if thats the case, then why complain and ask the for things to be done… if it all just comes down to price? 3weeks ago No marvel player was playing at nickel… the price didnt change… Im not rich, and yes i dont like to spend tons of money, but its just an extra quarter, for quality… i guess some people just dont understand… or care which is cool… but the manager went out of his way to please this community, and then you guys go the total opposite.
dont worry, we all feel bad. thats the main reason why im going to mudd club. the owner is super chill and he bought us all these games. and he gives me gatorade (which is cool because they have no water fountain)

Well all we can do is ask right, but i mean if we want thing changed, dont you think we have to at least continue to show our support to this place?
i say just show support every now and then but let the genral feeling be that why you wouldn’t have full support (ie: going to mudd club more often) is realistically the price of the game.
like in the long run, if he just lowered it to .25 cents, he’d have all of us not going to nickle for the most part and he would be making the money from our support. i mean short run, if he did lower it his profits would be cut in half because we would be able to play longer buuuuut i get this feeling that everyone is going to mudd just to show support that its a new arcade but will eventually stop going because that kind of hype is gone or 50 cents really does rape you over time.

Talk is cheap thats all i have to say, he did things for the community in hopes of getting support, now it seems like the extra quarter is making people not want to support it, If i was a business man id say fuck you guys, because what if he lowers the games to 25cents and you guys still dont support it, just like arcades of the past. If again we lose another arcade; a few months after its gone you fools will be complaing about sd needing a good arcade… you cant have it all
i give mudd mad props for the shit they’re doing. in time they will drop the price. the more we go and give him what he wants for now, the sooner he can drop the price since they’re making bank especially in the past few weeks when a grip of people have been showing.
point taken, i mean i don’t want to see this place go either but lets face it, consumers are turned off by higher prices and in turn their spending habbits will be affect no matter who you are.
i’m still going to go the place, i love the enviroment and plus like you’ve said, the owner have been really great providing games. the only way i see him lowering prices is if people actually do stop playing there as much. blah blah supply and demand i’m pretty sure you’ve all heard it before but that’s really the only way it’d drop in price

Hey Im used to paying 50 cents I play at chula and plaza tilt so the 50 cents doesnt really bother me, the entrance fee im not really used to but ist not that bad, I say as lont as the place is in working order im going to suport it, and if they lower the price in the future than even better. I agre with mo on his views on this place and the rest of you guys need to stop being such cheap bitches.

Im with Chris. The only reason why i still go there is because I feel bad. I know that staff at Mudd Club is working hard but im not rich. I’d much rather spend $7 at Nickel for the whole day and be able to play a bunch of games than paying $12+ for a whole day at the Mudd Club and only be able to get a few games in. These guys really need to lower their prices and get more cabinets
50cents per game plus $2 entrance fee is pretty expensive compared to Nickel, who charge 15cents, $2 entrance fee, and all their joysticks are fixed (From the last time i tried them. Last week). They got two cabinets for Marvel at Nickel. Its better than waiting 20 minutes for a game
Why would you go to Mudd Club when you could go to Nickel, get more games in, and spend less money. Imo, I think Nickel > Mudd at the moment
I’m with Ray and Chris on this. For me, it’s not entirely the money, I am aware of the higher quality of mc and what the owner has done for us, but I just will not be able to keep this up for long because of the fact that i can only play limited games and that I have to wait longer than I would have to at nickel for every game I do play. I want to get in as much practice as possible, by whatever means necessary, and Nickel, at this point, facilitates that.

It seems like everytime I come to one of these “tournaments”, there isn’t one. So are you guys just trying to prove who’s the best out of you guys? Am I banned from these tournaments?
It’s just seems pretty shady if you ask me. How do you expect the tournaments to attract a bigger audience if you only limit it to your own crowd?

I usually run the tournaments. I didnt know if anyone wanted to join the tournament so I didnt run one last friday… That and I was kinda lazy.
We should probably agree on when exactly we are gonna throw the tournaments so… When do you guys want to do the singles/team tournament? And where at?
I don’t really have a preference. I just see a tournament and if I have time I’ll go. I’m always looking forward to tournaments. It’s just a little disappointing to show up expecting something that’s not going to happen.

25cents is good, im not being cheap, i can care less if it’s 25cents or 50cents if they have good machines. but making it 25cents will pretty much attract all the customers from nickle city.
