lol at nickel city, place is for kids. the dude gets all of what everyone requests and then people shit on him, nice.
He got the stuff, thats good and all, but if he lowers it to 25 cents a play to compensate for the 2$ entry fee every time we show up, and keeps the sticks working fine, then it will be fine, but 50 cents is too much really. but then again, im wouldnt be surprised if they dont drop the price, they are getting mad money from other games besides the fighting games. House of the dead 4 is like 1$ or more per play? and i saw some kids playing that game a few times. dunno how the fighting game scene is going to go down in mudd club, but more people need to show up more often and ask him to please drop the price on the games.
yeah, I like the place. But the cost per game is just too much. If it was a quarter, it would be fine. But $5.00 in about an hour plus $2.00 entry is overkill.
i was in a bad mood earlier and came off pretty bad, but still:
i don’t know about you guys but when i play fighting games i like to play A LOT. sometimes i spend about 8-9 bucks at nickel: $2 entry + $6 on games. since games are .15, that means i play 6 / .15 = about 40 times. (yeah i know good players spend less money but what the hell).
at mudd club, if i want to play 40 times, i’d have to pay $2 entry + $20 on games = $22. some of you guys are probably thinking “that’s chump change,” but personally, i don’t like the feeling of walking out of an arcade knowing i just spent $22 playing overpriced games when that money (and time) could’ve been spent on food, grass, a night on the town, or even a hooker in tj.
to avoid myself from spending too much money, i end up leaving mudd club EARLY , having played only a few games and feeling disappointed that i paid so much for so little. keep in mind that the extra money spent may seem trivial from the perspective of one night, but from week to week, month to month, that shit adds up.
everyone appreciates that mudd club has obtained the games that this community in general wanted, but .50 is still too much. admittedly, i don’t know much about businessesesess, but if the owner wants to compensate the money, maybe he can sell one/some of the arcades that no one plays there, for example that friggin horse game. ( i don’t actually know if people play this, but honestly when i look at it, i just think to myself “WTF i bet no one plays this” ).
i think i can safely assume that i speak for the majority of the community here. i’m just saying what’s really on our minds… that .50 = X.
