Hope he still takes damage like a bitch.
Basra is going to make earthquake low tier. Used to be really good vs tam tam too. But tams run speed is a lot faster now. Itās hype he will have setups from the ball. He seems same as ssvsp version.
Iāll let you know.
Iāve changed my mind on this subject, because Iām too bound by traditional content, which sometimes itās important to be open-minded, outside of convenience. So, I will be waiting for it.
I would like to build a friends list for this version and other Nintendo Switch fighters, if you have the system.
I think earthquake is already lower tier. Bas is one of the more complex characters in 5Sp so I hope theyāll keep that complexity.
And @d3v heāll most certainly still take damage like a bitch, itās part of his glass cannon vibe
I donāt have a switch but Iād be happy to play on PSN if youāre up for it.
Earthquake was bound to have some nightmare MUs just from his archetype though. Ukyo absolutely destroys EQ from my experience.
I feel like EQs main mix up is jump back med slash or hard slash. And it makes you chase into his shenanigans. So basically these EQ players just jump back and when they hit the corner they wall jump and repeat. Tamtam shuts him down with skulls. So that mu is already terrible. I feel like EQ is good if the MU fits to his game plan. But when I really think about it why be EQ when you could just use tamtam.
This game is lacking a command grab character. Maybe they think it would be too good. EQ needs a high damage command grab. At least a medium damage one. They should make the command really hard. This game needs a kusargedo or a Garia archetype.
When I first got the game I was using yashamaru in training. And Iām pretty sure I canceled his super. Kinda like how you can cancel enjas super in Ssvsp. I havenāt tried to recreate it. But I havenāt seen anyone do it. Then I tried briefly and couldnāt. Samsho is known for having hidden moves with super hard inputs.
if i remember correctly, traditionally the ninjas were grapplers, especially Hanzo in samsho1+2.
i havenāt played samsho7 in a while (waiting for PC release) but last i played Hanzoās shrike did low damage and it was better to just do regular grab.
We already have characters with command grab, including Earthquake. The thing is that SamSho tends to avoid the traditional big body grappler archetype. Earthquake actually plays on that, his size and command grab make you want to keep away from him, but thatās actually the range you want to be in. Hanzo plays more like the traditional grappler archetype where he wants to get in, but the twist is that heās fast, and he has muxups off his projectiles. Darli can actually be played like Ralph from KoF (in as much as I have a friend who does just that, and does quite well).
And new balance patch:

Iām actually kind if disappointed in the lack of character archetypes like zoners (Wu sucks ass) or grapplers.
Earthquake seems like a good noob killer. If someone doesnāt know how to fight him and gets sucked into his game, they get rekt, but if they know the deal, heās not great.
Hanzo was definitely a semi grappler in 5sp, but the lack of movement options here makes that a pretty ineffective way to play him in SS7.
Yeah darli is pretty cool, she reminded me of enja the way she can spam jump. But saying she is like Ralph is more accurate.
This version of the game is very vanilla:) like you can tell they are just building a base so they can expand on moves and movement.
A power grappler could be OP idk.
Patch is available. Basara, sadly, isnāt though. At least on the PS.
Thatās the SS2 influence. The archetypes here are definitely more like what they had in that game. But, in any case, zoners are coming. Mina is in Season 2, and Wuās gotten buffed.
Basara OST:
Prologue:
Ending:
Yeah I could totally see the Ralf/Enja comparisons with her. I think if anything, a grappler would be junk in this game because itās so easy to keep people out. Charlotte would kill a grappler for free.
I dunno, Iām honestly not terribly into the game as of yet. If Basara doesnāt pull me in I think Iāll probably quit this one and go back to 5Sp or start trying to learn IV in earnest until a new game comes out where they hopefully expand on things because this game just feels too bare bones and shallow to me.
Yeah youāre definitely right. I was kind of hoping theyād take influence from 5 or even 4 character-wise moreso then 2, but it is what it is. I played a pretty decent Wu last night and it was illuminating to see her do some cool stuff.
It was like torture seeing Basara on the character select screen though with a big lock on him
I donāt get why NA gets characters last. Asia and Europe already have him.
