SS is still kinda popular…PS2 Anthology is currently #314 in all video games on Amazon. And, it was at a much a better rank a few months ago when it first came out.
That’s fairly impressive for a non-SF 2D series.
That’s fairly impressive for a SNK game, period, actually.
So, nostalgia + plus simple gameplay + 3D graphics + blood + online = (maybe) moderate success
quick look at the vids,
(is this the newest game?)
looks like a poor choice of style for a samsho game.
wish snk would pull their fingers out of their arses for some decent re-releases on live arcade.
widescreen at least if not some slight gfx improvements also.
I Agree to to the part of SS style of SS2. It is kinda like SF2, where you do not have many options in battle but have to utilize what little you have in an effective manner.
im pysyched for this game, but really wish they woulda left the projectiles in. And yeah, air juggles does look kinda lame… Ill still check it out tho.
As I said in another thread, impressions from this game can be equalized to -_-’ for vast majority of those who had to deal with it. I would even put it like:
before playing Sen ^^ => --’ => -_o" => O_O => x_x after playing Sen
So basically, all those who wont get it, wont lose much. And if you dont have Live, you wont have to deal online with unblockable-series-of-bullets-shooting Draco users in a game where range is almighty since everyone devolved to close-combat oriented movelists
I know I’m not getting the game beacuse I’ve already tried it and wasn’t very happy with how it felt. Didn’t feel like a SS game at all. It felt more like a SC clone but at least the game looks nice if that counts. SC fans will love the game I’m sure. Also the online will likely be ass with SNK’s track record so far with online gaming.
Um, explain what you mean by “SC clone”. I’d be the last person to defend the later SC titles, but even compared to them their resemblence to this game is suspect.
If anything, don’t let the weapons fool you. This is closer to tekken 5 than anything.
A shame the gameplay is so one dimensional and un-SS-like. I’m sure my capture device would love to have a session with the graphics.
lol @ Black Shroud’s “before” and “after” description
Similar 3D movement and weapon usage for the most part. Yea there is rage mode like older SS games but just overall game play/feel is like SC to me. To each his own.
They can KEEP this piece of shit. Let the kiddies adore this (“OMG!!!111 xbox xclusive!!”) shallow excuse for a fighter, thinking, once again, that they got something good.
Looks cool to me, I thought the cast would be 10 at most but I counted out like 22 or 23. Looks a lot faster than the footage I saw early this year, more promising.
