Not the whole game. I remember hearing, in this thread actually, that the port of Tenka wasn’t very good on the PSP.
How many people on here actually cared that there was no blood in Tenka? When I google search SS6 I find a ton of reviews and even a petition that complains about lack of blood in the game. Who cares?
Is SamSho 6 a mess as a SamSho game? Or is this just all the SamSho purists not able to come to terms with it being different than what they’ve known? All these reviews I read of it say it’s a mess and it sucks. All I know is, I like it. Maybe it’s because I didn’t grow up on the older games. I used to play V and V special on emu a while back and I like that one as well.
Yeah especially when you get stupid shit like people complaining about sidestep in EX >.>
And the cons for Tenka sound like a majority of stupid unimportant things and personally I like most of the new characters. The balance not being as good as SS5SP isn’t that surprising but even then it’s not that bad.
That’s true. I guess I worry when the game I enjoy the most is collectively hated the most as well.
I read the cons on the link Black Shroud posted, and most of them are personal preferences rather than things that are actually wrong with the game. One that did seem to make a big difference is the damage adjustments made to the game. It does seem really low, even compared to other fighting games.
The cons mentioned are very minor. SS6 is still one of the best games in the SamSho series anyway. SS6 is like the CVS2 of the series. Even though the damage is changed, the patient and 1 hit attack tactics of the series is still important in it. Which that is good.
Lots of weird decisions huh? By all means lets hear some of these weird decisions that you yourself deem as weird. The game actually had a scene in japan for a little while. SS6 isn’t a bad game at all its just overshadowed by newer games and the fact that everyone just hates on snk. Even when the game is actually good and not a balancing nightmare.
Well the gaps in review scores are mostly based on facts, will one review SS6 as Samurai Shodown game (comparing to all the previous one), or as standalone fighting game. As standalone fighting its isnt all that bad, however SS fans still compose most of its targer auditory, and for most SS fans its difficult to press “forget everything you knew about SS” button inside their heads while playing SS6. More often they go into “WTF they made with my samsho here” mode, jumping on the cons listed by me. With that in mind, its easy to see why people less involved in SS treat the game better enjoying it for “what it is” (and the same approach is taken by minority of people in regard to SS:Sen)
@ Mr_Awesome:
Protip: SS6 sound being turned off, the whole game becomes less of a turnoff
I’ll play Tenka over 5sp anyday at the moment. The fact that the game doesn’t play EXACTLY like previous entries doesn’t overshadow the time and love that went into the game.
People who are too hung up on that can just play something else.
lol, couldn’t contain it? I would be glad to play ya on Kabuki Klash any time I can. However, I have this weird feeling about using Supercade (that is the only way to play KK atm, no?). When I used 2DFighter before, I got viruses after some plays. So I’m kinda hesitant to use Supercade. Unless it is different from how 2DFighter was. However, I could possibly play ya on Kabuki Klash if Supercade is not troublesome to set up.
I do have GGPO set up (FTMP), but have not faced anyone yet.
Some mistook what I said about the CVS2 comment. CVS2 is one of my favorite games, no idea how to do RC correctly.
