I only ask because the ideal scenario would be for it to be online and multiplayer. I picked up both of the Fatal Fury Battle Archives before realizing ‘Wait a minute, I’m the only person I know who plays any of these games.’

The Japanese version had the storyline. Is just that the arcade English version took it out. Unless that compilation has some kind of language option or something.
So I guess no playing as the sub bosses on SS5.

You make a good point. I feel the EXACT same way when I pick up classic game compilations, attempting to do the right thing and not just switch on Kawaks or MAME, or hit up 2DF. But even with all of the extras (only in certain compilations like Capcom Classics Vol. 1 & 2) there’s little replay value when playing these classics by yourself, ESPECIALLY fighting games.

I just ended up breaking down and importing it. The biggest thing I need to do is figure out what all the menus/“sub-systems” in Tenka are for when you are selecting your character. I’d like to think they have an important role in the match.

So the US version has been pushed back again? WTF is up with SNK? They announced this compilation since last year, and they said it was coming out 4Q2008 for seemingly no discernible reason, and now they’ve pushed it back even further? Christ!
Seriously, do they hate SS or something? I figure they realise SSS is going to tank for being all around terrible, but that’s no reason to punish the people who still want to play their old (and good) SS games.
I just want to play SS6. Is it that hard to port this thing over. All you really have to do is translate it, it’s not like we’re getting online play. Irritating.
SNK Playmore USA is quite a disorganized, small-budgeted operation. We should be grateful that we’ve even gotten the releases we’ve got from them so far. I think that the only thing they do in their domestic releases is slap their logo on the box and manual; everything else appears to be outsourced, from the game’s translation efforts to the distributing.
